I'm so sorry you've had a high risk result fisher". I do think it sounds positive though that the nuchal measurement was low. I think the beauty of Harmony is that it's supposed to be 99% accurate. That was a huge factor for me in paying the money! The combined test does lead to a lot of unnecessary anxiety. I hope you're doing okay too fairy*.

brickiemum2 · 08/07/2015 06:28

That's awful ready and I really hope they've done it to the wrong person and you'll fight them and teach them a lesson.

Lookingforadvice123 · 08/07/2015 06:47

missmartin read the link I posted if you're worried. It doesn't say that, it says 1-2% of all miscarriages are late ones, that means something very different.

Had an awful dream that I started bleeding last night Sad probably a combo of general anxiety and reading this thread late at night!

ready so sorry that sounds awful. Do they have any evidence to back it up? If not then I would be dubious about whether you are actually under performing, the lady I manage is seriously under performing and I literally make a note of everything she does wrong as HR have told me that I need solid examples.

kep1979 · 08/07/2015 07:35

nic we waited until we had harmony too, and i was surprised how excited they were too.

ready that is awful! Like others have said definitely challenge, but it is so unfair that they are being such rude word i shouldn't type on mumsnet!

My pregnancy news was greeted with a "oh god" by my boss, and i know that any plum work will no longer come my way. I plan to leave after returning to work so trying not to get bothered by it. And any chance of promotion/out of cycle pay rise has also disappeared.

impatientlywaiting · 08/07/2015 08:28

I would tend to believe the stats produced by the miscarriage association, but can see some websites have stated its 2% of pregnancies like MissMartin had said- www.parents.com/pregnancy/week-by-week/16/late-miscarriage/ I think they've probably picked the stats up wrong and are basing it on the miscarriage association's figures but misinterpreting them. If so that is terrible as these are quite reputable websites.

I'm so tired today. Went to bed with a headache, woke up with a headache. Thought about not going to work but I still haven't told anyone so I dragged my hide into work. Bleurgh.

You know how I make a habit of being lost in my GP's system and not getting the referrals and appointments I'm supposed to get? Well yesterday they rang me saying I'd requested a call-back from a GP. Um, no, I haven't. I said I'm waiting on test results but I'd expected the midwife or hospital to deliver those. They couldn't find any test results for me, so said it must have been a mistake. I just feel sorry for whoever did request a call-back from a GP. They couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

Brooke113 · 08/07/2015 09:41

I hate Google :( Ive had daily cramps since around 5 weeks, I've been convinced this is not going to work out, I'm a complete stress head at the best of times :( I had my booking In appointment with midwife at 8w5d, I can't bring myself to.even look at the notes, I've just put all.the info In a cupboard :(

brickiemum2 · 08/07/2015 09:44

I've had a constant headache/migraine for around 10 days now (well longer but it was more on and off before that) It's so so draining.
Had a weird dream last night....My dd turned into a young giraffe and I had to hide her in a toilet cubicle as lions were chasing us. Random!

kep1979 · 08/07/2015 09:55

Sorry you are feeling rubbish edgar and brickie - I've had a headache on and off for about a week and woken up with a stinking cold. Not a happy bunny but managed to drag my bones to work. Can't see it being one of my more productive days!

And Brooke step away from Google! Have you seen a midwife since your booking in? If you are concerned you could always call them? generally they say that cramping is quite normal as everything is stretching (is this your first?) and not a cause for concern unless you are bleeding as well. So try not to worry (easier said than done I know)

Was thinking about names last night, as the boys were asking. We had already decided not to tell people about potential name choices as everyone has an opinion and we don't want our favourites nixed by other people. But at the same time I have three friends who are due between September and January, and am paranoid about any of them choosing our favourite name. I know it's a bit silly - and there are loads more important things to be concerned about (plus I am the only one that knows the sex as yet) but not sure whether I should say that we have chosen? WWYD?

impatientlywaiting · 08/07/2015 10:01

Brooke try not to worry. When is your scan? Cramps are normal as everything is stretching.

Brooke113 · 08/07/2015 10:13

I haven't seen anybody since booking in, she said I wouldn't until 16w, this is my third, and I didn't have any pain like this in either of their pregnancies. Scan is on Friday. Wish I could stop stressing, every time I stop stressing I get stabbing pains :(

frozenfairy123 · 08/07/2015 10:28

Got the results! All low risk! Yay! I can't tell u how nervous I was answering the phone. Then afterwards couldn't stop crying! Blooming hormones! Now I can actually try and enjoy this pregnancy. Xxx

impatientlywaiting · 08/07/2015 10:30

Brilliant news, so pleased for you Frozen.

Brooke113 · 08/07/2015 10:36

Fab news frozen :)

kep1979 · 08/07/2015 10:47

That is such lovely news frozen - really pleased for you.

Chip86 · 08/07/2015 10:51

Kep I would start telling people, and when talking about baby use the name you like, that way no one will use it you can say it's to help the boys. We did this with DD and will do it again when we know what we are having its to help DH to remember otherwise he will be like what did we call it Grin
frozen great news

BlueEspoir · 08/07/2015 11:16

Awesome news Frozen! Smile

nicnicspicnic · 08/07/2015 11:34

Great news Frozen Enjoy having one less thing to worry about.

Lookingforadvice123 · 08/07/2015 12:00

Great news frozen! So happy for you Smile

kep I'm exactly the same, DH and I don't know the sex yet but can only agree on one boys name, and as I know a couple of friends who are pregnant, I'm telling the ones I think might like the name! Other than that not telling anyone though including friends and family, as people always have an opinion to give!

Lookingforadvice123 · 08/07/2015 12:01

Out of interest what names have people decided on? We're set on Seth for a boy, a few options we like for girls but at the min our fave is Violet Grin

Brooke113 · 08/07/2015 12:16

Ooh I love a good baby name talk looking wonder if we'll have any duplicates on here?

impatientlywaiting · 08/07/2015 12:16

A friend of mine has a baby Seth, I love it.

impatientlywaiting · 08/07/2015 12:17

We haven't really thought of names, I find it really hard until I know what gender baby we are getting.

SleepyDragon · 08/07/2015 12:26

Morning all!

Ready definitely ask them for proof and why this hasn't been addressed with you before now if it was such a concern. I sacked a girl 2 week ago for underperformance but had everything documented including a signed statement from her confirming when we'd spoken about it previously.

My scan is Friday and I am really nervous for some reson, not even excited, just nervous Sad

Ooooh names !
My Dad passed away 7 years ago this year and we already agreed that if we have a boy his middle name would be 'Ronnie' in memory of him.
First name wise I love 'Archie' but don't know if that sounds too much followed by Ronnie. DH is currently trying to convince his DM that a boy would be called 'Thor' lol!
Girl wise I love Ava, I did like Grace (for years!) until I met the chavviest family ever with a 'Grace' and it really put me off! Lol!

fishermanswife1 · 08/07/2015 13:13

Great news frozen!

Well I'm sorry if this is a long post but I'm a little all over the place today. Went to meet mw today to discuss options after our high risk NT result yesterday. We left deciding that we'd go private for Harmony. After NT bloods found one hormone higher than should be and the other too low.

Came home to voicemail saying mw had re checked results and could I call back.... she had checked the hormone levels detected and said "I've queried it with the lab as the one is the highest I've seen, and they've agreed it's odd and are re-running the test in case an error was made, so don't book harmony yet".

An hour later I get another call "no - lab has got the same result again, but it's that high, still wait to book harmony, as we want you to come back in again today for a scan to make sure there's nothing odd going on in your uterus to cause these elevated levels".... What does that mean? So either I go back now and they pick up "something odd" on scan that was missed in two previous scans (seems unlikely to me), or they find nothing and we actually book harmony test. Blimey!
