For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

Hi ladies. Thankd for all asking about me.
I'm still hanging in there, 35 wks and basically not mobile anymore. Everything is a struggle so taking care of my dd has become a problem so i'm taking help wherever i can get it from.
Also, i developped cholestasis which is really annoying and have not had a decent night sleep in 2 weeks. I'm knackered!
So consultant said we could deliver this week instead of next as everything is really good with babies. So i need to let him know monday what we've decided. Not sure what to do... I'd love to let them cook as long as possible but not sure i can take this much longer.

TakesTwoToTango · 11/10/2015 02:00

Yey abbey - that sounds like really promising news!

Chic - much sympathy on the cholestasis. Are you getting the urso etc? Any improvement? If your cons is happy to deliver then you have free choice. Maybe don't think of it in terms of which week, but how many more days you think you can manage?

TakesTwoToTango · 11/10/2015 02:02

Doom, I'm with you on the suddenly feeling really uncomfy. Thank goodness we are on the home straight!

Austen - good call on the massage. I had one too and the relief from siatic/sa to-iliac pain was incredible.

ChicBabyP · 13/10/2015 14:40

Hi everyone. I hope you are all doing well in this last stretch.
Just wanted to let you know that consultant and i decided to deliver this week instead of next. I've been feeling really lousy and in pain everywhere. Cons said the mother's wellbeing is just as important as the babies, and i was worried that by next week i'd be a complete wreck and unable to care for my little ones.
So in less than 48hrs i'll hopefully be feeling a little better and holding my 2 bundles. Very scary thought but also exciting!!!
I will try and g et on here and let u know how it all went but might take several days weeks

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 13/10/2015 15:37

Oh wow Chic hope everything goes well!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 13/10/2015 16:47

Hello! Haven't been on here in ages but just wanted to pop on and say good luck to fellow twin basket chic! Will you let us know how you get on? Completely sympathise with how you're feeling. Growing two is so much more difficult that one isn't it? I'm not really able to do anything more either.
Hope all goes well! Assume they're not expecting any nicu time for the babies? Are you being induced?

LadyStark · 13/10/2015 16:56

Very best of luck Chic!

Let us know how you get on and I think your consultant is quite right, you are as important as the babies. You're 36 weeks now right?

ChicBabyP · 13/10/2015 17:34

Thanks abbey and ladystark.
Guy, I'm not being induced, it's a planned section as they are both breeched. And the plan was anyways to get them out at 37wks so now we're doing it at 36 wks. not expecting any nicu, maybe transitional care. They were both estimated at 2.5kg last week which is amazing as Dd was just under 3kg at past 40wks! Consultant even said i'm pretty huge so they must be real big! So hopefully they'll be fine. I think at this stage 1 week doesn't make too much difference ( that's also what the neonatologist said, the risk difference is very small).
Where are you at guy? Any idea when they are planning to come out?

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 13/10/2015 18:03

I had DS at 36 weeks (singleton obviously) and there were no big problems, he was on postnatal with me. I had the steroids beforehand for his lungs and they were fine.
Only things were jaundice (very common in early babies), and feeding issues, he hadn't got his suck reflex yet so couldn't take boob or bottle so was cup fed, very sleepy so had to set an alarm to wake him.
No major issues and we stopped correcting his age - he'd caught up - just before his 1st birthday.
Hope that helps reassure a little that they'll be just fine Smile

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 13/10/2015 18:10

I'm 36 weeks tomorrow. Their plan is to induce at 38 weeks. Was in yesterday with a small bleed and cervix completely closed so don't think they are planning their exit imminently. Mine have been growing really well too.
I'm considering asking them to induce at 37 weeks-ish rather than 38 but I'll just see what they say. I'm just so so exhausted from it now and in pain all the time.
Might not have problems like jaundice but maybe they'll keep you in for a few days just to be sure? I have to say, dd was born at 40 weeks / 3.6kg and still ended up to jaundiced to feed so spent 3 days under a UV light! So I guess those problems aren't limited to premies.
Hope you have a lovely calm section! Look forward to an update. Will be thinking of you.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 13/10/2015 18:12

It's funny, I've spent this whole pregnancy terrified of premature labour. I've got my 36 week scan tomorrow and I realised I didn't write down the time of it all those weeks ago because I never expected to carry them this far so I assumed this scan wouldn't happen.
So I think we've both done really fucking well frankly. And we're very lucky to have been able to carry twins this far. Smile

TakesTwoToTango · 13/10/2015 18:53

Well done to both of you chic and guy! Good luck for the section chic and the scan guy!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 13/10/2015 19:39

You've both done really well. I'm struggling with one at the same stage

Fairydogmother · 14/10/2015 13:54

Hi all. Haven't been on here in months! Now 33 weeks and wishing it was all over lol

LadyStark · 14/10/2015 21:20

Hope everything went well today Chic and you're healthy and getting settled with your lovely babies.

Unthoughtknown · 15/10/2015 10:24

Day 2 of maternity leave and trying to get into nesting mode but actually just buying a lot of stuff online (chest freezer for batch cooking, heated clothes airer, cot mattress). I am also developing an addiction to Planet Rock (the new radio was a good purchase). 36 weeks tomorrow eeeek.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/10/2015 11:04

Hope all is well chic!

TakesTwoToTango · 15/10/2015 14:14

Hope it all went well chic!

Ha ha unthought good luck work on the shopping!

Sympathies to everyone struggling.

ChicBabyP · 16/10/2015 07:57

Just a quick update from me while i can. The twins (a boy and a girl) are doing great and had no need for extra care, they are both with me. I had a few complications during section but that will be for another post. But just one thing that may help some of you debating vbac, i had been in pain last few weeks very low down on my belly and turns out my previous scar had burst open inside! One baby's foot was already out. So don't ignore pain ( not that they could see it on scans) and consider the risks of bursting at a vbac ( and i wasn't even considering it, it elcs all along).

I'll post again when these two little bunnies give me a chance!

Unthoughtknown · 16/10/2015 08:33

Oh my gosh, massive congrats Chic !!!Flowers

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 16/10/2015 08:41

Hooray! Huge congratulations chic! Well done. Scary about your scar.
Would love you to post photos, but understand if you don't want to on MN!
My two are due to be induced next Wednesday at 37 weeks.
Hope your recovery is swift and easy.

Frescoed · 16/10/2015 08:54

Congratulations Chic glad they are both doing so well, I hope you're on the mend too! Flowers

doomclaw · 16/10/2015 10:04

Many congratulations on your twins - so glad that you are all safe.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 16/10/2015 10:11

Congratulations Chic, so happy you've got your babies with you and they are doing well. Hope recovery goes well.

Interesting about VBAC, you might remember my hospital put me under immense pressure to VBAC (and if something happens before my scheduled date I think they still will) and totally dismissed all my worries about my scar (small age gap, premature c section) as I'm higher risk for rupture. Will stick to my guns now. I hope that you're OK and that it didn't complicate things too much.

BowiesJumper · 16/10/2015 10:57

Congratulations chic!! Yaaaay.
