For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

Just popping in to say that my ds was born in the early hours of this morning, I had him in the pool at home after my waters broke last night followed by a short labour - so very different to dd's birth. I am sitting in bed cuddling him now while he sleeps in my arms. I knew he would be a November baby Grin

Congratulations coco and Snozzberry
Snozzberry I'm so happy you had a positive experience this time

TakesTwoToTango · 18/11/2015 18:34

Congratulations snozzberry! I'm so glad you got your home birth.

40+3 here and waiting [semi-] patiently!

austengirl · 18/11/2015 21:13

Congratulations Snozzberry and coco! Tango I hope you're not waiting much longer.

DS arrived on Sunday night after a long day in the delivery unit, but glad it lasted less than 24 hours start to finish. Didn't get the birth centre birth but we were very well looked after almost the whole time. Baby is utterly adorable and quite chilled out on the whole. Smile We came home Monday night and are adjusting to new family life one day at a time.

Congratulations Austen!

By the way, I just saw a postnatal threading active for when all the babies are here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/2509616-november-2015-newborns-and-neurotics

TakesTwoToTango · 20/11/2015 03:36

Baby has arrived after 10hrs of labour weighing 10lbs 6oz Shock

SnozzberryPie · 20/11/2015 03:39

Blimey takestwo, congratulations!

TakesTwoToTango · 20/11/2015 03:46

Thanks snozzberry. I'm a bit stunned!

SnozzberryPie · 20/11/2015 04:01

When was he/she born? How was it? Well done youFlowers

I am up feeding, ds has fallen asleep on my boob but whenever I tryvto put him down he wakes up again...

TakesTwoToTango · 20/11/2015 04:18

Ah I remember that well, mine is rather sleepy atm so having the opposite problem! Born mid afternoon. Waters went v early this morning and it all kicked off immediately quite intensely. I ended up having an epidural but it wasn't completely effective and had mostly worn off by the pushing stage. Pushed her out in less than 40 mins with a bit of tearing along old scar tissue from previous dc but a whole heap less blood loss so am feeling pleased!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 20/11/2015 04:20

Wow congratulations TakesTwo! My baby is nearly 4 weeks and isn't 8lb yet Shock

TakesTwoToTango · 20/11/2015 04:26

Thanks Abbey and aw, I bet she looks like a 'proper' newborn though! I made them weigh her three times as I didn't believe it at first... Still can't get my head around it really!

SnozzberryPie · 20/11/2015 04:35

That's amazing and I bet you were glad of the epidural or what remained of it. Ds is a teeny dot of 6 and a half pounds and I still had a small tear, probably because he helpfully came out with his hand by his face...

Ds has been sleepy till now but only when someone is holding him. Going to put up the bedside crib tomorrow to see if that's any better. We co slept with dd but not till she was a bit older and we're a bit nervous about having a newborn in the bed with us.

TakesTwoToTango · 20/11/2015 06:31

Argh I wish this baby would feed enthusiastically! So frustrating :(

SnozzberryPie · 20/11/2015 09:00

I know takestwo but as dd was premature and jaundiced at least know where I am with sleepy babies, I am waking ds to feed every three hours, by taking off his nappy and /or the rest of his clothes, tickling his feet or, my personal favourite, licking his ear and blowing on it Grin

TakesTwoToTango · 20/11/2015 10:10

Ha ha! I haven't tried licking the ears! Everything else I'm the same. And hand expressing tiny amounts of colostrum after every feed to try and keep her blood sugars up as they are hot on that here. Also, we have to have a wet nappy before we can leave (6 dirty ones don't count)...

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 20/11/2015 13:06

My second sleepy baby here too although she's more alert now. Had a load of crap off the health visitor about her not gaining quickly enough but seems we are on track now.
Never done the licking ears either but sounds funny!

austengirl · 22/11/2015 05:20

Thanks for the link Abbey and congrats TakesTwo! Especially on pushing out a 10lbs+ baby Shock.

Feeding has been a struggle, as I didn't get much help with latching properly for a few days and my breasts were in agony. DS has been praised multiple times for his extremely strong suck reflex. We've made progress and tonight is the first good night in terms of feeding schedule, DS actually sleeping in his co-sleeper and neither of us losing our minds from lack of sleep. He's been losing weight though, so if the midwife isn't satisfied on Monday, we may be augmenting with formula. He's a sleepy feeder too, so I'll try that ear trick. ;)

TakesTwoToTango · 22/11/2015 08:53

Thanks Austen! How's the feeding going now? Well done on getting help with the latch, I really hope that will translate itself
To less pain now for you. See how you go at the weigh in, you don't necessarily need to top up with formula
Immediately especially if things are now going better.
