For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

Oh and I never dye my hair anyway but I do know that henna is supposedly safe Smile

Amyyy27 · 11/06/2015 13:13

Alittle I bought one after my midwife refused to listen at our 16 week appointment :( depending on your area/midwife some don't do it... regardless of if you are sat there blubbering! I love mine. But if you decide to get one please do a bit of research first on the sounds to listen out for, check your heartbeat first so you don't confuse them. And don't panic if you can't hear anything, the baby is still low down and could be hidden/in an awkward position. Also, I'm only using mine up until I feel kicks regularly. It shouldn't be used to check the baby is ok if movements change/decrease or you have an accident.

Alittlebitofeverything · 11/06/2015 13:38

Thank you, I will see if we can tag it on to the gender scan next week, if not I will purchase I think.

To change the subject slightly I really have gone off nice meat while pregnant but slightly crappy meat, I cant get enough of.. I can actually spend a while fantasising about a pork pie or cocktail sausage but present me with a nice piece of beef and I'm really not interested! Baby wants mcdonalds Shock

Blueblink · 11/06/2015 14:55

oooo shiny new thread!

Amyyy27 · 11/06/2015 15:02

Ohhhh how I have been craving a pork pie :( I can't find anywhere that does a gluten free alternative!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 11/06/2015 15:21

Everything was normal at my anomaly scan. Placenta was high - such a relief after last time. But it's at the front and she couldn't rule out it growing into my scar. Bloody placentas! But will deal with that when/if it happens.
It was very nice and she explained everything really well and showed me everything. So nice after with DS when they turned the screen away and went to get a second opinion and I was left wondering what they'd seen. They had 2 sonographers ready and I had an extra long scan, and even photos for free. They really are looking after me this time Smile

We weren't sure whether to find out the sex or not. They wouldn't write it down and they wouldn't tell DH but not me. Anyway, like last time I have another exhibitionist baby! Where my kids get this from I don't know Grin and it's a girl. It was totally obvious so we got them to confirm.

Maybe I'll get a surprise if I'm ever brave enough to have a 3rd!

tootsroots · 11/06/2015 15:31

whispers i ate a maccyd for the first time yesterday... after 4 years.. a chicken sandwich thing and was WORTH the wait.. ohmnmonnnnom. Baby Really likes crappy cals not 'nutrient heavy' ones!

I just put a pic on the fb group as evidence but a close male mate at work, gay guy but that is not the point, just pointed out .. AT MY DESK that my booty was bigger still than my bump...GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin cue peals of very loud laughter from me... as he is right and i am PROUD of my booty. Result of too much padding + hockey and squats but i love it not being flat! Sorry to lower the tone but i have failed to feel 'sexy' recently until he said it! Now i am all aglow with the double sided compliment... not naive to think it was all innocent flattery.. i know him and his style.

Despite being 20 weeks on Sat! Another 2 weeks to wait for my scan though. Yawn.

oh and congrats on a little girl! :)

stace1986 · 11/06/2015 16:01

Place marking! I just posted in the last thread re my 16 week appt. :)

Abbey good news on the placenta and yay for a girl :)

annatha · 11/06/2015 16:12

Great news Abbeyroad! 3 long weeks until my scan. We're on holiday next week so trying not to wish time away.

StAlphonsosPancakeBreakfast · 11/06/2015 16:20

Alittlebit flying is fine, I flew a couple of times last week and no problems (lots and lots of water is definitely the key), I'm flying next week and the week after too.

Because of work travel (and then a week off, yay!) I've had to move my 20 week scan to the first week of July when I'll be 21 weeks. Fingers crossed.
I'm struggling a bit at the moment, I've hurt my back, had to be stoic while dealing with some very very bad health stuff about/on behalf of an old friend and breaking the news to others, I've been working till 10pm every night this week, and I won't see DP again for another three weeks (we're seeing each other about once a month at the moment). Everything is just piling up around me, and I have to spend the weekend writing a conference paper. Sigh.

Lovely news Abbeyroad, glad all is well. Smile

Frescoed · 11/06/2015 16:22

Abbey congrats and what a lovely sense of relief it must have been too, yay for great NHS staff!

Nice compliment toots, I'd take that! I'm hoping to squat all the way to the end, in case there's any chance I can hold on to some semblance of shape!

SnozzberryPie · 11/06/2015 17:17

Abbey that's great news on your scan.

ehealy · 11/06/2015 17:39

Abbey how exciting! I'm like a child waiting for Christmas- 10 days to go. Lots of little digs going on on my left in an irregular pattern a bit fluttery, assuming that's a foot kicking something but thankfully not strong enough to hurt!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 11/06/2015 18:06

Thanks everyone, it is a relief. I'm sure I'll find something else to worry about soon though!

mrsscarlettbutler · 11/06/2015 18:24

Abbey amazing news! And how exciting that you now know it's a girl Smile

Alittlebit I am exactly the same as you - completely off meat, but recently all I could think about was a scotch egg. I also went to MacDonalds earlier in the week - had a double cheeseburger, mozzarella sticks, fries and a strawberry milkshake Blush was the most I've eaten in one go for weeks. I don't think I could manage 'proper' meat, but the double cheese burger was perfect. So that's where I'll be getting my iron from it seems, poor baby.

Alittlebitofeverything · 11/06/2015 19:13

I'm glad It's not just me with the dodgy meat.. I have NEVER EVER craved something like macdonalds but i can't currently help myself.. Ordering my large Big Mac meal with a side of mozerella sticks with a bottle of water.. You know.. For health reasons Grin . I've been to m&s today to buy cocktail sausages, pork pies and scotch eggs.. Good to think I'm giving my baby all the right foods. I'm still taking my multi vitamin, that must count for something.

Great news about everyone's scan results so lovely you're having a girl abbey congratulations!!

rebbles · 11/06/2015 19:28

Abbey great news about scan it has made me even more excited for mine! Got it a week tomorrow. Has anyone felt movements yet? I think I might have done but not sure if that is what they are!

cryingbabymess · 11/06/2015 20:49

Place marking before catching up. X

gennibugs · 11/06/2015 20:52

Fab news abbey Grin

doomclaw · 11/06/2015 21:14

Fab scan news Abbey

I'm glad I'm not the only one obsessed with sausage rolls and other naughty things. I promised myself that I was going to eat more healthily today but was nearly in tears in Sainsbury's this morning because I was overwhelmed by the choice of sandwiches. I ended up with a really random one that had tuna, houmous, beetroot and salad.

lemonwildflower · 11/06/2015 23:17

So, I had my 2nd appointment this afternoon with the midwife. Totally pointless. We didn't get to hear the baby's heart. They just read my blood results out to me - and told me it was all fine.
What's everyone else's 2nd midwife app experiences been?

annatha · 11/06/2015 23:31

lemon mine was exactly the same. She told me she didn't have a doppler, which I don't believe for one minute. I was in less than 5 minutes and she dismissed the pains I've been having. Gah.

I've had soup and a sausage roll for tea 3 days in a row now and I could murder a scotch egg. Ive been fancying pepperamis but the heartburn would finish me off. If dd wasn't asleep I'd be halfway to tesco by now...
