For all those lovely bumps incubating until last few days of Oct and all November, spilling possibly over to December for the super comfortable babies- come and chat, rant, vent, chant, glow, sweat, watch nails grow whilst doing antenatal pilates/yoga/sleeping/eating/navel gazing and over analyse to your hormones content!

Optional - FB group is up and bumping, PM me with email to be added.

I had the opposite in that it all happened so quickly with DS, everyone was a bit 'what?' when I said I'd given birth! The families knew I'd been admitted but it looked like it might be for bed rest rather than delivery. They all managed to descend on the hospital pretty quickly though once I'd had him Grin

pennygirl26 · 15/06/2015 02:40

ive just sat and read all the posts from 27th may. have been on holiday so missed lots ! im loving all the information im getting on here im completely clueless. so happy for everyone getting good scan news its really exciting! ive still got a while to go for my on 7th july.
dont think ive felt baby yet but cant wait after everyone else has described it Grin Grin Grin

feathergirl1 · 15/06/2015 07:52

Question for those of you with anterior placentas - I still haven't felt any of these mystical 'flutterings' that people say the baby feels like when it moves. When I lie flat in bed the only thing I think I can feel is, (this sounds weird) the placenta pumping?! Have any of you felt this too?
I'm also 21 weeks today and it's my first so have nothing to compare to. Guess I'll just see how things go and ring midwife to ask her if I still don't feel much after another few weeks.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 15/06/2015 09:14

I didn't feel my first baby until after the scan, maybe 20 weeks? So I think that's normal. The midwife only asked at the 24 week appointment anyway, they seem unconcerned before then

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/06/2015 11:24

I can feel (and see!) the blood flow pumping.

BowiesJumper · 15/06/2015 11:25

Yes I feel the pumping of blood down there too! Movement is very few and far between for me (20wks), I've had two little kicks and a few flutters but it's not all the time or anything. I think they're only awake for about 6hrs a day though.

I've still not got a bump, RIDICULOUS. HMPH.

Scan on Friday and I'm starting to worry about it already. Gulp.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 15/06/2015 11:33

I've got no bump either Bowie's - 2nd pregnancy, small age gap, 20+4. The midwife at booking said I'd be massive. Still it's been useful as I've not told work yet, I think I'll wait until I've seen the consultant and got my MatB1 form. I feel a fraud but it'll do me no favours to tell them early.

DH thinks I'm mad but I'm going to start packing my hospital bag later. Stuff for me that is, I'll do baby stuff later. I was in without any stuff last time and want to be organised. Plus I'll need a bag of pads etc and things for a hospital stay whatever happens at this stage. Hopefully it'll help me feel a bit more calm if I start getting tasks done

Laura7010 · 15/06/2015 12:13

What do I need to pack in my hospital bag??

NoMoreSashimi · 15/06/2015 12:24

I'm feeling the pulse in my placenta as well. Yesterday was the first day I was really sure it's movement, so at 21 weeks. But it's very subtle and if I hadn't been lazing around on the sofa all day, I would have probably missed it. It's less of a flutter, more of a bubble moving around.

Is anyone reading to the bump? I know we should talk a lot to the baby, and there was some research that babies find stories/music calming if they had been exposed to them regularly before birth.

stace1986 · 15/06/2015 12:24

Does anyone have a handy list of what to pack in my hospital bag?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/06/2015 12:26

For me:

Clothes
Hairbrush
Make up
Wipes
Toothbrush and paste
Lip balm
Snacks
Water
Phone charger
Maternity pads
Tit pads
Bras
Big pants (lots)
Pyjamas
Nighties if csec?
Flip flops
TENS
Camera
Sleepmask
Pillows

For babies:

Vests (4 each)
Sleepsuits (4 each)
Hats (2 each)
Ready made formula

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/06/2015 12:27

Other things going in mind: small bottle of champagne and small tub of foie gras.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 15/06/2015 12:49

Here's my list (so far...I'm sure I'll remember more later!)

For me:
Moist toilet paper
Old towel
Slippers
Over bump loose clothes
Button down nightie
Thin dressing gown
Maternity pads
Breast pads
Pump (maybe)
Nursing bras
Big pants
Water bottle
Breast cream
Snacks
Toiletries
Glasses (couldn't see last time!)
Flannel
Camera and charger
Phone
Money / change
Book?
Bottles and formula (emergency use only!)

For baby:

Disposable changing mat
Swaddle

I'm sure I'll add to this later. Looking at Guybrush list I can already see I've forgotten my hair brush!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 15/06/2015 12:54

And notes! I'm writing hospital notes in big letters on my list now.

mrswishywashy · 15/06/2015 12:56

That's good that others are feeling a pulse I was wondering what it was. Even my partner could feel it. No bump still here either but can feel movements at time.

I've got my head in the sand. Hospital bag? Oh boy, I'm not ready for that yet.

Have my maternity allowance form been sent in post so hope can get that underway.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 15/06/2015 13:53

Oh wow, I'm with you MrsWishyWashy - nowhere near hospital bag level yet!

So is anyone doing anything for their DH/DP for Father's Day? I have bought a bottle of his favourite Scotch to go with a note to say it's his last chance to enjoy it before the pea arrives... But now I'm torn - is that nice or weird?? I can always keep it for his birthday in August if I decide not to do it!

Alittlebitofeverything · 15/06/2015 14:29

Just been for my 16 week appt, she found the heart beat straight away which was very comforting.

I haven't even considered a hospital bag yet, think I'll forget about that for a little longer although I definitely think I would want champagne and foie gras would be the first to go in, probably why I'm missing most!! Smile

ehealy · 15/06/2015 14:29

I have my lists and it's great to see the extras. I have a wish list on MotherCare so I will just do a big hit 6 weeks before birth.
Survived a hectic weekend a hen party playing ping pong and dancing until the bass was too loud for baba. A 24 hr round trip to see OH who is away working in Newcastle. Just back and knackered but baba is fluttering around in there making themselves known! I'm huge now I look 6 months preggers and I have to hide it for an interview for a short contract job!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/06/2015 14:29

Don't take a pump- not ideal to express in the first few days, but if you need to, the hospital pumps are amazing.

Lauramum23 · 15/06/2015 15:04

Hospital bag!? Not even give it a thought! Grin I'll wait till I finish work I think.

I've actually been to aqua fit ( feckin freezing tho and didn't warm up much cos the woman is pretty useless!) but nevertheless I have been and I did a brisk 15 min walk on treadmill before too! Check me out! I've only got 4 weeks really to get on with it cos then school breaks up and I won't get much chance to go but my DVDs will be here and I can hopefully squeeze some exercise in!

Amyyy27 · 15/06/2015 15:06

Oh gosh hospital bags Confused my brain does not want to function when I try and think! I will literally copy someone's list later on and hope for the best! :)

Laura7010 · 15/06/2015 15:28

I got lots of reading on mat leave today which has fried my brain a little! Trying to work out what little I can survive on towards the end :-/
heir I got OH a card with the scan picture on saying thank you for all the support etc... Not actually saying Father's Day a so think he might freak out! You could just say it's for him being there for you?

Amyyy27 · 15/06/2015 15:29

eeek just felt my first proper kick! I have felt niggly movements but this was a good thump! and then a kick to the bladder, thanks! Although no wonder he is so wriggly this afternoon... dr pepper and maoam sweets Blush

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 15/06/2015 15:31

I'm only doing mine now because of what happened last time. It's fine to wait until later. I just don't want DH bringing me random things (white knickers?!) again Grin
Guybrush I'm just thinking of packing the pump because the hospital one was always in use last time. I only got to use it twice I think and we were kept in because DS couldn't feed and lost weight. Long story but ended up switching to formula so we could go home. I know that sounds bad but over a week on that ward was not fun! Annoyingly I had my own pump at home, so that's why I'm thinking to pack it if space.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/06/2015 15:35

Ah yes, I hadn't thought of that. I was exclusively pulling from day 1 for weeks and weeks but I didn't have to let the hospital pump out of my sight while we were in!
