Welcome to the thread, for anyone pregnant with a rainbow baby following baby loss.
A lot of us have graduated from the TTC angels and rainbows thread, but please feel free to join us if you are new, to share our highs and lows as we watch our bumps grow and await the safe arrival of our rainbows.

The current TTC thread is here:

Every thing looked ok on the scan another one in 5 weeks found out I'm due Christmas day 6+4

Ducky23 · 06/05/2015 16:19

Whohas Grin that's great news. My ds (rainbow) had a due date of Christmas Day! But I was induced at 37 weeks Smile

vicky123uk · 06/05/2015 19:06

Scan went well today, placenta funny but we knew that last week.

I wish you could all meet the man I met today, consultant who works for Tommy's charity. He was the nicest man EVER! My husband and I both came out saying if only all the consultants had his manner. Such a quiet, polite and intelligent man, honestly I wish I could move to have his care full time!

whohas glad it went well for you as well today x x

Ducky23 · 06/05/2015 19:28

Glad the scan went well Smile and the consultant sounds lovely! If only they were all like that!

whohasnickedmyvodka · 06/05/2015 19:57

I'm so pleased you had good news as well Vicky I got it it wrong I'm 7+1 not 6+4 lol xxx

Hello whohas :) pleased your scan went well! My mum was due Xmas Eve with me but I went 5days over.. I love my birthday around Xmas - such a magical time!

vicky also pleased you got a good scan (bar the issues with the placenta Flowers)

It's a bit like Christmas for me today - I'm having a very early gender scan at 15+3 (due to DHs work schedule for next few weeks)..
I woke up at 2am, 4am, and have been awake since 5am.. Ha it's ridiculous how scared/excited I am to find out!! Fx crossed baby participates & we can have a good nosey!

As for getting to the stage when things went wrong last time, I won't do because I was 40+5 - but it still feels weird planning DHs & my mums time off.. Sort of like 'don't be daft, you're not going to get to bring a baby home - you planned it all last time & look what happened there'..
It's the self preservation aspect that kicks in.

I'm trying to manage my DS's expectations by constantly saying 'if all goes well and the baby lives/is healthy/survives' whilst he's planning on all the fun he'll have dressing up the new baby in his dress up outfits ha.. He's so innocent that it does rub off on me after a while :)

Love to all - will update later if we are successful xx

whohasnickedmyvodka · 07/05/2015 06:51

If every thing goes ok this one will be early both my other two where 3 weeks early and I want a c section with this one just hope they don't offer me the 15th December as that's my dd 10 th birthday :) :) :) hope everything goes ok for you today winter xxx

vicky123uk · 07/05/2015 08:07

Enjoy finding out winter let us know which team you are later...pink or blue!

We haven't told our DS yet, waiting until he asks about my tummy getting bigger. The other day he asked if his sister was in the cemetery at the church down the road, cue discussion as child friendly as possible about burial and cremation... I'm just glad he is happy to ask questions. Such an enquiring mind for someone so small bless.

WinterBabyof89 · 07/05/2015 12:12

Well we're team.... BLUE!

I've got an adorable 3d image of him sucking his thumbs.. It's so cute!

We were both secretly hoping for another girl my DH more than me surprisingly but I've felt it was a boy from the beginning.. I have breezy pregnancies with boys it turns out ha!

I'm so pleased that he's alive, wriggling around and that I might just get to keep him at the end this time.. Grin

Ducky23 · 07/05/2015 12:53

Who has, imagine two with the same birthday! Shock

Winter! Grin Excellent news!

WinterBabyof89 · 07/05/2015 13:03

whohas sorry got carried away with my own news ha!
Fx they offer you another day so that they don't have to share birthdays!

Thanks ducky :)

whohasnickedmyvodka · 07/05/2015 14:30

I don't know yet winter I just want to get to 18 weeks this time :) :)

EllieandAnna · 07/05/2015 17:31

Hello, mind if I join you again? Just got my bfp!! Also just in case some of you haven't been on the old thread, cake has posted. I know a few people were wondering how she is.

WinterBabyof89 · 07/05/2015 19:19

Congrats ellie Smile

townsender · 07/05/2015 21:14

Hooray Ellie yey for the bfp!! Come and join the bump chat. And thankyou for breaking the silence on the TTC thread - I was getting a bit worried I'd killed it!

And hooray for team Blue Winter, same as me. So the 3D scans are good are they? I'd always thought they looked a bit creepy when I've seen pictures of them, but never had one myself.

town yay for blue ha!
She flicked between 2d & 3d (think it's actually 4d real time but it's all a bit confusing ha) and he does look a little blobby on it in places rather than smooth.. But you can see all of his tiny body, where his ears/eyes are - his little legs crossed at the bottom. It's a lot cuter when you know that that little alien baby is your own Grin

And to top it all off I've felt him move on 3 different occasions today - most yet in a day. Happy days.

Embracing the good day - happy dust to all.. I'm leaving now because I'm beginning to irritate myself ha!

kayleighferrie1985 · 08/05/2015 10:00

whohas and vicky so pleased for you both having good scans.

winter a boy, lovely. I think sometimes blokes can surprise you with whether they'd like a boy or girl. And so good that you're getting some wriggles too Grin

ellie huge congrats to you!!

LakeOfDreams · 08/05/2015 16:23

Congrats Ellie.

Glad everyone's scans are going well. I have my 20w scan at the end of the month. 18 weeks today and beginning to feel proper movements

EllieandAnna · 08/05/2015 17:21

Thanks everyone, am so shocked. I don't want to get excited yet but I can't help it. Although getting guilt mixed in to all of it too, my brain seems to be going a million miles a minute.

I'm just wondering how everyone has gone about telling people. Both times I told my mum as soon as I found out but not sure whether to wait until after the scan this time (hopefully I'll get that far as v.early days) I don't want her to worry. I want to keep it from everyone else for as long as possible but not sure how easy that would be with consultant appointments/likelihood of showing earlier this time round. I suppose you just play it by ear?

So pleased everyone's pregnancies seem to be going well Smile

Ducky23 · 08/05/2015 18:46

Congrats Ellie! Grin

I told my mom & close family straight away as they would be the ones I would want for support should anything of happened. But it depends on how your feeling really and your relationship Smile

I had an early scan and it was dated wrong so my first appt with the consultant should of been my 12 week but I was actually 9 weeks (then they kept putting my date forward)

kayleighferrie1985 · 08/05/2015 23:08

ellie i told my mum and my best friend straightway- actually my best friend knew before dh (i'd done the test at 5 in the morning and i just HAD to tell someone and i knew she'd be up), then told the close family and friends over the following couple of weeks. Everyone else found out when i'd had the 13 week scan. Personally i feel it's up to the individual to decide when they feel comfortable telling different people xx

WinterBabyof89 · 08/05/2015 23:47

ellie with my first two we told family straight away, but it was nice to keep this one under wraps for as long as possible. I had aimed to wait until 16 weeks so I could announce the sex of baby at the same time but by 9 weeks I had the beginnings of a bump so was pleased just to make it to my dating scan!
I didn't want to worry my mum so early on because she took DD's death really hard (& I wouldn't have told her had things gone pear shaped because she's a lot more sensitive than me)..
But I did tell my lovely friend who's abroad atm straight away! I may have told her before my DH Blush

But whatever you decide will be the right decision :) I think there are pros & cons to keeping hush or telling them early!

lake yay for proper movements! Your scan will be here before you know it!

kayleigh thank you for your kind words.. It's always been a dream of mine to have a DD but I never for a moment thought it was his! Full of surprises ha, even after 9 years..

EllieandAnna · 09/05/2015 10:40

Well my mum knows, we went for coffee and for the first time in ages she asked me what our plans were for trying again. I'm rubbish at lying, she always sees through it! I've got mixed feelings about telling her as she's worrying now but she says she's glad I told her.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, think I might have to go for a power nap!
