I think I'm having braxton hicks but as a ftm I'm not sure!

Thanks for asking ditzzy :) It wasn't great to be honest, baby was really low down (as always) and so she couldnt get to his face. They've rebooked us for monday, hoping we can see more then :)

That's a shame treacle fingers crossed you get a better view on Monday.

I get a scan at each check up but I'm getting to the point where I can't see any distinguishing features at all, just grey blobs. Am assuming it's because he's getting bigger, or that the Drs equipment isn't very good!

Am still suffering a dead arm from my whooping cough jab, with that and the pregnancy, it means sleeping positions are very limited atm- I'd like to figure out how to sleep propped up (like in a hospital bed) but not sure its even possible. Back to the right side!

DoNotDenyMe · 09/07/2015 22:07

Just jumping back on... Hope everyone is well!

Treaclepie19 · 10/07/2015 15:20

Also struggling with sleeping with the painful arm and spd/pgp miss, hope you've found a secret to it!

Currently sitting in hospital being observed after minor bleed this morning.... Hopefully just a thumb twiddling exercise but after a week of sore arm from the whooping cough jab I now have two sore buttocks!! One got an anti-D the other got steroids Sad

DP away for what was planned to be his last weekend away on his own before baby, so he's 3 hours away, without transport and putting a plan together to make it home tonight!

DeladionInch · 11/07/2015 13:03

Hugs ditzzy I'm waiting for a call back from a mw for reduced movements

ditzzy · 11/07/2015 13:08

Thanks Deladion - I hope you get some reassurance soon too.

Treaclepie19 · 11/07/2015 15:00

Oh no ladies. Sending hugs :(
Hope everything is ok.

Hello everyone, just visiting to check in, it's been a while! 30 weeks here and just had my whooping cough vaccination this week.

Braxton Hicks - I have had them from something like 14 weeks with this pregnancy (it was from 25 with DC1!). To me they feel a little like after you've been winded - completely tight/spasmy bump for about 30 seconds, with a bit of a breathless feeling. I have them many times a day. It's subtly different when when DC is stretching out and sticking his bum out on one side (he's head down and ROA already!) because then the other side of my bump isn't tight.
BHs are a great sign that the body is preparing for labour. My contractions with DC1 were very effective indeed!

ditzzy · 11/07/2015 15:23

I think my little one must have heard the midwife asking if she'd been moving much today as I don't think she's stopped wiggling the whole time I've been in hospital! Looks like we're both ok but need to stay in overnight for observation - already had two consultants booked for next week (placenta position on tues and cardiac on thurs) so there's not much more they can add to that anyway!

One more monitoring booked for this afternoon but other than that I'm just snoozing in a sunny side room feeling relieved Smile

ShootTheMoon · 11/07/2015 15:57

All sounds very positive ditzzy Smile

I had a scare at 29 weeks with DC1 but went through to 40+6! I hope it's smooth sailing from now on for you.

DeladionInch · 11/07/2015 16:02

Yay ditzzy we got called in but were out in 40 minutes with instructions to come straight back for a scan if not wigglier by tomorrow!

ditzzy · 11/07/2015 16:02

Thanks ShootTheMoon Smile

Hopefully Deladion will come back with good news now too.

ditzzy · 11/07/2015 16:03

Excellent cross-post Deladion! Smile

I had my whooping cough jab this week. It didn't hurt much at the time but bruised sore achy arm ever since Sad

ditzzy · 12/07/2015 10:21

Discharged! Grin

ShootTheMoon · 12/07/2015 10:34

Phew! Congratulations Smile

misssmilla1 · 13/07/2015 14:02

purple know the feeling, mine has finally gone away, a week after I had it done! Am happy though that that was the only side effect, I was a bit worried that it'd be the same as when I had my MMR booster, where I was really ill for 48 hours.

Bought the rest of the big stuff yesterday with the pushchair and car seat. Managed to score 20% off and was also pleased to note that it actually included the fix base for the car, so that was another $100 saved!

Am starting to struggle with the third trimester; tired, hormonal, and in pain from (I think) SPD or pelvic girdle pain. What a combination!

ditzzy · 14/07/2015 16:53

Just come back from placenta position scan - still low lying but only partially covering os rather than fully now, so has moved a bit.... Re-scan in 4 weeks, although sonographer said it's unlikely to move its also now unlikely I'll need hospital based bedrest for weeks prior to birth either, so definitely reasonable news Smile

Consultant seemed surprised I'd been in at the weekend though. I suggested she read my notes and she had the good grace to look guilty for a few minutes! She had been trying to explain the hospital procedure for reporting in with a bleed, so I'd had to explain I already understood that one.

Treaclepie19 · 15/07/2015 08:45

Oops fell off.
Glad the news was better than expected dittzy :)

Also got 3rd trimester tiredness, hormonalness and spd here too.

Ambientolf · 16/07/2015 17:13

i haven't had any Braxton hicks yet. Is that a bad thing?

ShootTheMoon · 16/07/2015 18:32

Not really ambient, everyone is different, and it may be that you have them but don't feel them.

You might find you just get them in the last few weeks, or not at all Smile
