Snowflake not at all... I ordered ours last week too (27th wk). As the house in disarray I've had to store it at my mums. But it helped ease my stress at still not having bought much!

MummyBexta · 29/06/2015 18:40

Snowflake I ordered mine after 20 week scan although it's not getting delivered until August

ditzzy · 29/06/2015 19:14

Mine is already parked in its space just inside the front door! It makes me grin every time I walk past it Grin

ditzzy · 29/06/2015 19:16

MummyBexta - how did the scan go?

MummyBexta · 29/06/2015 19:25

Ditzzy 20 week scan was fine apart from low lying placenta which needs to be checked again at 32 weeks.
Had 4D scan this weekend which was amazing! It was a birthday present :)

ditzzy · 29/06/2015 19:31

It was that 4D one I was interested in!! Ours was amazing too even if we do have what the sonographer defined as a 'naughty baby' (stayed curled like a hedgehog for most of it). Did they give you any reassurance on the placenta position or did they not look during the 4D?

Jessica32 · 29/06/2015 21:02

Snowflake it's definitely not too early, but then, I ordered mine at 12 weeks! Not being delivered until 14th July though.

MummyBexta · 29/06/2015 21:08

ditzzy She said the placenta has moved so that's brilliant news :) Our baby was curled up too- legs right up, a little yoga baby haha! Amazing experience isn't it!

ditzzy · 29/06/2015 21:36

Great news MummyBexta! Yes, I'd recommend the scan to anyone for a great bonding experience - it makes such a difference going in for a scan 'for fun' rather than for a technical medical check Smile

MummyBexta · 29/06/2015 22:01

I agree totally Ditzzy no anxiety at all for this one, just absolute excitement Smile

ARV1981 · 02/07/2015 03:13

We ordered our cot last night. It's a gorgeous aqua colour. I'm so excited!

Getting our travel system in July. I want it now, but kind of thinking I also want my nice clear hallway for as long as possible as I reckon we'll have a pushchair parked there for the foreseeable future!!!

Have bought loads of tiny sheets, which I've washed. I sorted the baby's chest of drawers out weeks ago after we were given a massive pile of hand-me-downs from our little bean's cousin! I still bought a couple of new baby grows though Grin

Also, as we're planning on using cloth nappies, I've been sorting those out. Hoping it'll work for us as I've invested a lot of time on you tube trying to get my head around how they work!! Was given enough new born size ones by my sister who never actually used them in the end, so a pretty awesome deal for us! I also bought a few birth to potty size ones, but baby has to be ten pounds before they'll fit, so will have to wait on those. Also bought a pack of disposable ones just in case for the first few weeks!!!

This heat is getting to me (hence posting at 3am) and I'm finding it difficult to do anything. My office is like a sweat pit, and although dress code has been relaxed, it's still unbearable. Drinking gallons of water (the fountain is behind my desk) which helps, but half-hourly trips to the loo aren't exactly conductive to getting any real work done...

Talking of such things, I only have 3 weeks left! How long have you got before leave starts? I have about 3 weeks of annual leave in front of my maternity leave, and then around two weeks of mat leave before due date.

As for heartburn. I'm suffering. I asked my doctor for stronger than gaviscon, but she refused saying I had to try the advance stuff first. Well, I'm trying it but it makes little difference. Just been sick twice. Sad

Also a bit worried as I have the glucose tolerance test on Friday. Not really sure what to expect results-wise. I'm not overweight, and there's no family history but there was sugar in my wee on one test and a scan showed there is excess fluid round baby. Baby's in the 52nd percentile for size (apart from it's head, which apparently is quite big. Serves me right for procreating with a melon-head like my husband!!) So I really don't know what to think. I guess I'll find out... does anyone know how long they keep you waiting for the results? I'd have eaten twice as many ice lollies in this weather if I knew for certain it wasn't going to damage me or the baby!!!

cavamonster · 02/07/2015 05:13

Another one here who is unable to sleep, been awake since 230 now think I might just get up!

Is everybody getting a scan in the third trimester either nhs or private? I'd quite like an update on the bumps weight and position but my hospital doesn't offer one unless medically required...

ARV, I finish two weeks on Friday (6 weeks annual leave) but I've switched to off to a lot already Smile

Matilda30 · 02/07/2015 08:57

I've already finished work-decided to finish early due to severe anxiety and my work situation not being great :( So I'm on annual leave and start mat leave at 29 weeks. Still tons to do though so making the most of it. ARV1981 - I had a GTT and only had to wait till the next day for results. Oh and cavamonster, I'm having an nhs scan at 36 weeks to check placenta-but it will be nice to see squiggle again :) I did want a 4d one but couldn't justify the cost when babies cost so much already

ARV1981 · 02/07/2015 18:42

Thank you Matilda...I guess I may get my results on Monday then (not expecting them on a weekend!) That's good, hopefully I'll know either way soon then. Its the not knowing that's stressful.

Sorry you've had anxiety. I hope it's better now you're not working?

I've interviewed two candidates for my job today, one particularly good! I hope he accepts it as it would take a load off my mind knowing there was someone decent taking the helm. Sadly, I don't think I'll be there to do a proper handover, but that's not my fault: my manager has known about my pregnancy since March!

Treaclepie19 · 02/07/2015 21:13

We've booked a 4d scan for monday :)

Hope you're feeling better not being at work matilda.

ARV for ice lollies I like the mould I have for doing your own. You can freeze fresh fruit juice and a friend does yogurt. Still has sugar but not as bad as buying lollies.

amusville · 03/07/2015 07:29

I am definitely in the ice lolly club. Having 1 or 2 a day just to tolerate the heat.
Is anyone struggling to come to an agreement on names? My partner and I can't agree on anything. Names u really like are Abby, beth, grace and molly. He hates them all. Anyone have suggestions for something similar that I may be able to persuade him with?

BeautyBoo · 03/07/2015 18:12

cavamonster I really want another scan for reassurance about bumps size, position and gender (I really need them to double check because I keep having strange dreams!!) I was thinking of begging my Midwife as it is actually causing me a lot of anxiety and I think it would be much better for me to just be given another one. I did really want a 4D one but just can't justify the cost at all.

amusville We've finally only just agreed on one name we both like, it took so long and DP hated all of the names I suggested! I really want to find another one though so we have an option!! Middle names we can't decide at all still though!

Ambientolf · 04/07/2015 15:19

I had my 4d scan today - it was amazing! Baby was pouting & opening his mouth/eyes. Even stuck his tongue out at one point! Mine was with babybond & I definitely recommend it - we have a dvd of the scan and photos on a usb stick. Expensive but a really lovely experience. Hope you are all well x

Treaclepie19 · 06/07/2015 10:04

That sounds great ambient :)

Ours is tonight. Excited :)

I am in agony today. Woke up with back pain (across the middle) plus aches down both sides. Went to MIL for a bath (we don't have one) which eased it for an hour but now back to square one. It feels like my sides are splitting and my belly will burst Sad.
Anyone recommend anything that could help?

Choccyhobnob · 07/07/2015 12:20

Have totally fallen off this thread as just been posting in the facebook group. 30 weeks today and not feeling prepared at all! Feel like we have nothing ready!

misssmilla1 · 07/07/2015 14:46

We're in to the home stretch with 11 weeks to go so finally shifted our arses and ordered cot and assorted paraphernalia this weekend just gone. Decided that I couldn't face Ikea (hell on earth..) so happily paid up the delivery fee, hopefully it's $99 well spent and we won't have to do the usual return the stuff that doesn't work / fit routine!

This weekend we're off to buy the car seat etc as I have 20% off that needs using. Post that, I'm busy compiling a list of what's needed for the birth and first few weeks off Amazon.

I'm torn because of their sexist (imo..) policy of naming Amazon parent here 'Amazon mom' (as in caring for the baby is all the mothers' responsibility...) and using it anyway as a) I get a discount for whatever is on the initial list (lots of people use it for baby present registries..) and b) it helps to have a list in one place I can add to and get delivered at once instead of venturing in to a shopping centre.

amusville · 07/07/2015 19:30

Sorry to hear you are in pain pigriver try a soak in the bath and look up some ante Natal yoga poses for backache, I find it really helps me.

ditzzy · 07/07/2015 19:50

Sympathy for you pigriver - I have a tightness across (around?) belly and back first thing in the morning but it goes away for the day after my shower. Not much help, I'm just feeling lucky!

Is anyone feeling Braxton Hicks yet? When are they supposed to kick in? I've been feeling all sorts of different belly related things over the past few days but I can't tell which are bits of me doing stuff and which are baby when she's squirming and wiggling around! There's definitely some new sensations this week (31 weeks) just when I thought I'd got used to the kicking Grin

How was the scan treacle?
