Treacle I've had it quite often during this pregnancy whereas normally I'm the other way!

Hope it does away soon

bonzo77 · 20/06/2015 11:57

ambient I was just about to write a weight gain post. I'm the opposite. Not sure I've put on enough: 11lb so (bmi 21.5 at conception), just like my other pregnancies. Wonder if I ate more I'd get bigger babies. Suspect not though.

Treaclepie19 · 20/06/2015 12:34

Thanks maths.
I've had the opposite all pregnancy.
Wondering if it's a hit of a bug? Got tummy cramps. Baby is kicking away though so hopefully all is ok.

Just got back from fancy scan - paid for half an hour but luckily got sonographer who was absolutely determined to get a decent view and persisted for about an hour to try to convince her to wake up and uncurl from the really tight ball she was in (legs up by her ears with her arms hugging her legs in tightly). Including being sent out for a walk and chocolate and bouncing on a ball. Eventually she stretched and yawn, rubbed her eyes and curled back up again... Just long enough for us to get some pics!!

I asked her about the placenta and she agreed it is low lying, started off saying it didn't look "too" low, but within ten seconds she spotted that the placenta carried on further down and is definitely still touching the os, then later on in the scan she looked again and realised she might have been looking at the wrong thing and pointed to something that apparently looks far more like an os apart from the fact it is right in the middle of the placenta, and she hadn't been looking for it there. So she was unsure, either it's touching or completely covering, she thinks I'll probably have to have a vaginal scan at the 32 week NHS scan for them to be sure. Either way I feel better for knowing a bit more even if it's knowing in an unknowing way!!

ditzzy · 20/06/2015 14:10

Hope you feel better soon treacle!

TheMidnightHour · 20/06/2015 21:07

Dropped off a bit but thought I'd come on to say we had our first NCT class today (took all day!) and was actually really good. Met some nice people and got to ask lots of questions, learned some new things. Good to hear other people's thoughts on topics no one who isn't expecting cares about!

If nothing else, think I'll really appreciate having some people IRL who are having babies around when I'm due as moved about 6w before BFP and with work, etc, haven't actually made friends locally yet.

Treaclepie19 · 20/06/2015 23:51

Thank you ditzzy! Today's not been good. Ended up at triage again because the pain was so bad and baby was going crazy.
They think it's just my bowel is inflamed because of the upset stomach (causing the pain) and they're happy with babies heartbeat so relieved all is ok. Even if I feel rubbish!

Hi All, haven't posted for a bit. We've had 2 hypnobirthing sessions (2 more to go + refresher nearer due date) and I'm feeling good about the birth already. So helpful to have positive input. If anyone has been considering doing it I would recommend. I would also add that it's name does not help as it's much more sensible and straight forward than you might think from the name. The ideas are backed up by science/ biology and really it's about relaxation, trust and staying calm.

bonzo77 · 23/06/2015 21:57

Hi treacle. Sorry you're having such a miserable time.

jessica I read the books and found them very empowering. In the end I had a CS. But bizarrely I found some of the techniques helpful when I subsequently had a miscarriage.

Feeling very big today. I think today might be the last time I manage to cut my own toe nails: I could hardly breathe while I was doing them!

DeladionInch · 23/06/2015 22:23

All well at my 28w appointment today, although I'm anaemic so awaiting prescription from the Dr. Measuring 26 but ds was a titch and dh and I are both lower end of average size so no cause for concern

Treaclepie19 · 24/06/2015 08:18

Thanks bonzo.
I was going to look into hypnobirthing, 27+4 today and still haven't got round to it!

Currently fascinated by my new boob juice, I just Googled to see if breastmilk donation is a thing. It is. In case anyone interested :

BeautyBoo · 26/06/2015 15:05

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well Smile

DeladionInch · 26/06/2015 18:34

Waiting for my beef and lentil pie to cook so I can start my iron tablets, beauty anaemia is kicking my arse big style at the moment! How are you?

BeautyBoo · 26/06/2015 19:06

Oooh it's heartburn that's getting me these days! Can't go anywhere without a packet of Rennie's in my pocket!! Suddenly started feeling exhausted again too, working 14hr days is not fun anymore Sad
Your dinner sounds lovely, hope the tablets work for you. My friend was anaemic during her pregnancy and had lots of beef dinners which really did the trick for her Smile

DeladionInch · 26/06/2015 19:20

Omeprazole sorted that a couple of weeks ago!

bonzo77 · 26/06/2015 22:45

Oh the exhaustion! Totally over doing it at the moment with house move and renovation bits. I'm only working one day a week so no excuse!

My reflux has been unbearable. Using at least 500ml gaviscon advance as well as a dozen or so of the tablets. Obstetrician put me on ranitidine (150mg 2x a day) and it's much better. Have actually had a couple of days with no symptoms in the last 2 weeks!

Snowflake15 · 27/06/2015 11:14

bonzo I think we are one and the same! I've over done it with my renovations last night and totally aching and exhausted today! While DP slept on the sofa like a lazy bastard... Cue resentment! I'm getting very frustrated at not being able to lift heavy things and just get on with all the stuff I'd usually do!

Reflux is killing me too I must be puking in my mouth at least 5 times a day, I might ask my consultant for that in a few weeks, when I told midwife at 25 week appt she just said oh some people are just more sickly than others, take some gaviscon!! GreatHmm

Very hormonal overtired and feeling sorry for myself todayBlush

BeautyBoo · 27/06/2015 12:14

I hadn't even thought about them being able to prescribe things like omeprazole or ranitidine. My midwife prescribed me some peptac but I can't bear to drink it, it makes me gag so much because it's so gloopy and leaves a film in my mouth. The Rennie's really work for me but it would be great to have something constant to stop the symptoms completely!!

I really feel for those of you moving at the moment, I have no idea how you're coping with that in this heat aswell. We have a lot of work going on at home and DP is constantly doing things around the house which exhausts me just being amongst it and watching!

DeladionInch · 27/06/2015 13:16

Ranitidine I bought in sainsburys. Made things worse! So GP receptionist had the nurse practitioner ring me and sort it. For iron my mw faxed the surgery. No Dr appointment involved other than 30 seconds to look at dosage, it seems silly to waste a whole appointment for something so basic!

bonzo77 · 27/06/2015 15:14

deladion supermarket ranitidine is a 75mg dose. Not enough to do anything really, hence you feeling much the same, or possibly worse if you've taken it instead of something else that usually helps. When I took one 75mg dose I definitely felt worse too: it's taken double the dose twice a day for several days to get on top of it.

Jessica32 · 27/06/2015 16:55

Thanks for the thoughts beauty, it is definitely not the best time to move. I'm moving on the 9th and then I think the chaos will really begin! The most difficult thing is to not do too much. I already am and we haven't even gone yet. There are also some things that I don't think anyone else can do, like putting all the kitchen stuff away. I will need to decide where it goes as I'm doing it in order to make it user friendly. I can't explain to anyone beforehand and them just do it. It will mean bending and reaching with heavy crockery etc. Can't wait! Just holding on to the fact that it's better now than after.

Treaclepie19 · 28/06/2015 20:05

Oops fell off.
How we all doing?
I've been washing baby clothes and sorting his drawers/wardrobes :)

I'm about to order travel system but having jitters - 27 weeks isn't too early is it!?

DoNotDenyMe · 28/06/2015 22:59

Hi all!
Really envy all of you being able to start nursery and get baby's things sorted.
Our extension started on last week so the house is upside down at the moment and about to get a lot worse. On a positive note, the builder expects to be done by the end of next month, which after all the setbacks we've had, actually feels like a miracle Wink
Hope you're all keeping well Smile
