jessica the gtt is standard practice here in the US so we don't get a choice. Eyeing the bottle of what I have to drink (which looks like a particularly evil blend of panda pops and e numbers) I predict I'm either going to be in some sort of sugar coma or literally bouncing off the walls!

bonzo77 · 29/05/2015 15:20

GTT I had in my first pregnancy. Not in my last and not been mentioned this time. Never had any risk factors, unless my age (37) counts.

Bump: it's a little firmer than my tummy usually is most of the time. Sometimes it goes absolutely rock hard. Not sure if it's relevant or not but my starting BMI was around 22 I think, and I was not particularly toned, so some fat there and muscles fairly average.

CommanderShepard · 29/05/2015 16:02

I wasn't offered GTT with DD but have one next Friday as went to the GP last week due to throwing up all day and had a hell of a headache (which sounds the pre-eclampsia klaxon in my case) where my urine sample tested positive for glucose. Then again it was negative at the hospital this week (though + for protein, fuckety fuck) so maybe it was a one-off. Will test anyway, though.

Off out tonight with the chaps from work for pizza. I confess to having already planned out everything I'm going to eat... I am permanently hungry this week!

Lovely scan photo! Welcome to the group!

ambientolf · 29/05/2015 19:54

Hi mummy amazing scan picture! You have your details on the pic though so may want to remove it unless your not worried about being anonymous on here xx

ARV1981 · 29/05/2015 21:26

Lovely scan. Welcome!

Sorry maths that you've been unwell, sounds shit.

A new mattress isn't that expensive, so I'm just buying one. Getting a 2nd hand Moses basket and cot but new mattresses for both.

Quick question - so if you need a new mattress for each baby, does that mean you need a new pram Mattress as well? I'm getting a new pram, but wondering for next dc Grin

Hi Ladies

I've been on mumsnet for a while but only just noticed this group. I'm also due in September :)

DoNotDenyMe · 29/05/2015 23:15

Hi lauraa Smile

cavamonster · 30/05/2015 03:15

I think I'll join now as been lurking since the start but never posted although I am on the fb group. I am also on the pg after miscarriage thread so know a few from there.

Due 4th Sept...

Fluffin · 30/05/2015 07:50

Morning to all the new ladies!

Maths88 · 30/05/2015 09:57

Morning new people.

Been getting quite a lot of movement today and last night - it's so reassuring. Also didn't expect loads because of placenta position. Baby must have moved because wasn't getting much at all last week.

Had GTT yesterday - the drink was pretty disgusting but all done now. Fasting was 4.0 which from what I've read is good. They didn't tell me two hour number and just said I'd get a call Monday with results.

I had mine because of high bmi.

lauraa4 · 30/05/2015 10:40

After a quiet few days I seemed to get lots of movement last night and this morning which is nice :)

I have however woken up with the worst back pain! It feels like where my kidneys are but not sure if it could just be a bad back Grin I'm thinking of buying a pregnancy pillow after work. Would anyone recommend where to buy one?

Laura - Aldi have some in their baby event at the moment and ive heard ppl say the Argos ones are comfy. I have a dreamgenii which is bought last time round, 3+ yrs ago, bit more expensive but couldnt sleep without it now, so comfy.

Currently kutched up with snoozing DS (3) who has dreadful tummy bug (diarrhoea), poor little thing. He was doing really well with toilet training but this has knocked ys back a bit, as he needs plenty of Sudocrem on and he doesn't seem to know its coming. Hate him being poorly Sad :'(

monkeymoonpig · 30/05/2015 16:26

Llama - DP thinks we're having another boy but i just have no idea. This pregnancy is different to DS as well, and i suspected a boy then, but i just cant even guess this time round Grin

envious - we're team yellow and I literally have no idea. Dd first time around. Yeah I was more sick last time, but other than that, not really much different. My skin is looking terrible at the moment, which I don't remember from last time... who knows!
Any other team yellows n second/third baby experiencing people saying things like 'but it would be so nice if you had a boy'? Yeah... but it'd also be bloody great if I had another girl! Hmm

Matilda30 · 30/05/2015 18:24

Hi,

I'm another lurker, I keep meaning to put myself on the spreadsheet but have been too lazy to log onto actual PC so I've asked envious to do this for me. Was previously Matilda17 but thought that made me sound much younger than I actually am (30)! Anyway, due 20th Sep, team blue with first baby, and having an ELCS. Looking forward to joining in properly!

Just caught up the last couple of days.... My glucose tolerance test was purely due to age - the midwife made a point of telling me it was booked purely because it's a first baby and I'm over 35! I guess it's one of those things that's different in different bits of the UK as well as different countries.

I've had two people today asking when mine due date is and telling me it's ages away still being a few days over 3 months!! I was feeling really proud of myself for getting to the 6 month mark Grin

I've definitely overdone it the past couple of days though (the lift is down at work so it's three flights of stairs in a building with high ceilings!) my hump aches with tiredness. Not that my little girl seems to have noticed! She's been jumping around all over the place, but still wiggling rather than kicking, poor DP still hasn't been able to feel a thing...

monkeymoonpig · 30/05/2015 20:15

donotdenyme ALL the time! Drives me nuts! "wouldnt it be nice if you had a girl this time!" Aaargh! I just say - yes, it would be lovely to have one of each but it was also be fab to have two boys! As long as they're healthy and happy, thats all that matters x

bonzo77 · 30/05/2015 20:19

Bit of a catch up due here! Welcome to newbies.

Just back from 4 nights at Butlins. Kids loved it though DH and I are shattered. DS1 is now home and acting like a spoilt brat, I guess to be expected after the fun he's had.

In other news... We move house a week on Thursday to what I hope will be our forever home. It needs some work but it's not urgent. And this morning we chose our new car which I'll collect on Wednesday afternoon. Ford SMax. It ticked all my boxes (there were many) and we've been lucky to find one that's only 3 months old. Was more than I'd hoped to spend, but less than DHs maximum budget. I thinks we are going to be feeling very poor over the next few months!

Also on Wednesday I've got a growth scan. I'll be 24+5. According to my notes I'll be having one every 4 weeks now. Looking forward to seeing baby again, instead of just being kicked by him!

DeladionInch · 30/05/2015 22:07

Dp is now dh. Fab day completely shattered glad to be home in jammies!!
