Anyone else feeling strong kicks that take your breath away for a second? Only happens occasionally, maybe she's kicking upwards into my diaphragm and lungs?!

Treaclepie19 · 13/05/2015 11:46

That sounds nasty whatabout
Hope you feel better soon.

I've got the indented bump too.

Mrseb what an amazing scan picture: one of the clearest I've ever seen. Your hospital must have high tech equipment and/ or great sonographers!

whatabout ugh the gastro bug is awful. We've all had it here, including the children. Our 2 year old was very confused to find both his parents vomiting at the same time and therefore unavailable to put peppa on for him!

I think I am just starting to emerge from the "two bump" stage. Fortunately most of my maternity clothes are still baggy enough to conceal the bell button dip, though their baggyness still means I look fat rather than pregnant.

Getting lots of movement, have done for a while. Though nothing anyone else has been able to feel. Actually finding it quite uncomfortable and even irritating, which is daft.

Had an annoying week this week, DS2 broke my sunglasses, DH has a kidney stone, we all have d&v, I have sciatica and there's been a lot of too-ing and fro-ing about our house move. We are meant to exchange tomorrow: fingers crossed it happens! Nausea back, though not sure if it's a hang-over from the d&v, or morning sickness, I suspect the former. On the upside, it limits my weight gain (I know that's not so important, but I'm neither over nor under weight and would prefer to keep it that way).

ovumahead · 13/05/2015 19:55

What a lovely scan pic!

Doubke bumpage here too, although it is getting better! I am quite a podge though so to be expected...

Had a consultant appointment today as I had a previous cesarean (7 years ago!) and want to VBAC at home. They were actually supportive! I was really surprised.

To my dismay I discovered I've put on 1st 2lbs since getting pregnant... And considering I was already overweight (BMI of 32) I found this a tad depressing...

Curious to know how much weight others have gained?

ovumahead · 13/05/2015 19:57

And bonzo - gosh what a week! You must be shattered....

ambientolf · 13/05/2015 19:58

I have put on 1st 7lbs since New Year. I think I am going to be a whale at full term! Keep telling myself it's OK & ill loose the weight though Smile

ovumahead · 13/05/2015 20:02

Yes I'm not that bothered really which is why I haven't been weighing myself and worrying about it. I don't tend to over eat, I'm just pretty lazy and work in a sedentary job... Bound to gain some when pregnant, just surprised at how much!

bonzo77 · 13/05/2015 20:22

I'm 7lb up on my weight at conception, though total gain is 12lb as I lost some initially through nausea. For those who are interreted there are lots of on line calculators for appropriate weight gain depending on starting BMI. I think if you started between 19-25 then you are meant to gain 1-2 lb in first trimester then around 1lb a week after that, total gain around 2 stone. If you start BMI

missmillimentscardigan · 13/05/2015 20:33

Hi all. I think I've put on just under a stone so far. Hopefully that's ok!
Bit of a silly question, but are you bothering with maternity bras, or just wearing usual bras, or nursing bras if planning to breastfeed? I just had nursing bras when pregnant with ds as I thought they'd be the same as maternity bras but longer lasting, but am I missing something with maternity bras?

DeladionInch · 13/05/2015 20:34

And don't forget the weight is not all baby - there's a placenta and around 800ml amniotic fluid in there too. Weigh a pint and a half of milk or water, it's pretty heavy!

DeladionInch · 13/05/2015 20:40

I just bought nursing ones this time, it's the same thing but with clips AFAIK!

Treaclepie19 · 13/05/2015 20:42

I lost 10lb at the start and I've put about 7 of that back on now so still technically 3lb down.

On way back from a date with DH, and we hit a magical pregnancy milestone - Mummy's First Sneeze-Piss.

ARV1981 · 13/05/2015 21:07

I think I've put on too much weight. I haven't weighed myself for a couple of weeks, but I'd gained just over a stone then... when I started my bmi was 19.8 (i think this is in the 'normal' range?). I don't want an uphill struggle to lose it after baby comes but I definitely do not want to diet! I guess the sweet cravings I've been having should be resisted.... bugger Blush

Whatabout · 13/05/2015 21:17

I put more on on maternity leave than during pregnancy last time, cake dates were frequent with mummy friends! Im not weighing myself but I am worried how much I have been eating so I'm cutting back. Easy when you haven't eaten a thing for three days as stomach has shrunk a bit!

Meinthecorner · 13/05/2015 21:23

Oh boodly that just made me snort laugh (and guess what happened...)

I deliberately don't have scales in the house but I know I put on 3kg between telling the doctor at 4 weeks and my booking appointment at 10 weeks. I have definitely been eating less though in last couple of weeks as nausea has subsided. I think last pregnancy i put on 12kg in total by 36 weeks.

misssmilla1 · 13/05/2015 21:32

I've put on 12.5 pounds so far; I seem to be averaging .5-1lb a week if my crappy lieing scales are to be believed (I'm always 5lbs heavier at the drs, but she knocks off 3lbs as standard Grin) I'm hoping it doesn't gain at a quicker rate than that, but my bump has got huge in the last week, almost past the two bump / belly fat stage, which will be a nice change. I also look wonky as he's lieing diagonally across my stomach most of the time, so I'm bigger on one side than the other

haven't really felt much activity up until now unless I've really concentrated on trying to feel him. However, he booted me last night it made me jump (and squeal a bit Blush) as I wasn't expecting it, and keeps happening on and off today. Must remember not to squeal at work when it happens, bit embarrassing otherwise!

Jessica32 · 14/05/2015 08:51

I've put on 4.2 kilos since I conceived (2.2 pounds to the kilo). I'm 5.5 and a size 12 so not overweight but have boobs and hips etc. Can't remember what mw said my bmi I was but she said it was in the healthy range. I'm weighing myself more out of interest really and because I seemed to gain more than I expected in the first 12 weeks (about 3 kilos) but seems to have evened out. For example not really gained anything in the last couple of weeks but bump still growing.

Bra wise I'm wearing soft cup. Not sure one of them is specifically maternity just properly fitted and soft. The other 2 are nursing but I know I won't actually be able to wear them for that as I fully expect to balloon again just before birth and when the milk comes so will need new ones. I got them mainly as a way of getting a soft cup in a design that didn't look like something my Gran would have! I know you can wear wires as long as you have the right size, but as my old ones were digging in I felt that if I grew at all after buying new I ones I'd be in the same position.

Purpleball · 14/05/2015 08:56

I'm 2kg or 5lbs down on my start weight but I'm already a few stone overweight. I'm expecting to gain some at some point but not stressing it. The baby is the right size and healthy, that's what matters

ditzzy · 14/05/2015 09:55

I thought I was doing really well to have only put on 7 kg so far!! Although the midwife says it was less as I was having a bloated day when they took the weight for starting at Grin

ditzzy · 14/05/2015 09:56

Also have indented bump - she's usually hiding under the indent but every so often I get a really random high kick. I'll be looking into junior kick-boxing for her at some point...

Choccyhobnob · 14/05/2015 13:11

1st 2lbs up on my normal weight so far at 22 weeks. I keep telling myself about 4lbs of that went on at Christmas and never got the chance to lose it as conceived on Christmas day Grin lol
