Does anyone ever think they can feel baby really low down? Like sometimes I feel a lot of pressure almost and like I need to wee (but if I do try I can't, there's nothing there) and if I put my hand low like between hip bones my belly feels kind of hard? I think it's baby but might be something else?

craftynanny · 10/05/2015 22:08

that's how I've felt quite a few times snowflake..pressure on my bladder and pelvis, like I need to stretch my hips and pelvis out, and when they listened for the heartbeat a few times a fair few weeks ago, they started at the belly button but but couldn't hear much until they moved much lower down (and then found a very wriggly active baby+heartbeat)x

Boodlymummy · 10/05/2015 22:08

My first one was a tiny tap from the inside while I was laying on sofa reading. Made me jump, like nothing I'd felt before, did feel like a tiny creature in me. Before that, some mild flutters when concentrating, but was never sure.Since then I've felt it move more and more, and got used to the regular kicks and flips, such that I feel worried I've felt none since this morning...but Google tells me it's ok at this point.

craftynanny · 10/05/2015 22:16

Oh wow boodly! I reckon when I stop concentrating so much on it, it'll happen..'a watched pot' as they say! then maybe in a week or two,or three, I may feel something a bit more prominent that I'll be sure of..thanks all!

Snowflake15 · 10/05/2015 22:23

Good to hear crafty, hopefully we are feeling babySmile (there's defo one in there!)

Mine definitely stops when I concentrate, whenever I feel something I stop what I'm doing, nothing, so get back to MNing/TVing and I feel it again, this has actually just happened again... Cheeky bugger!Smile

craftynanny · 10/05/2015 22:31

They are naughty Snowflake aren't they! It's been a little pickle during both scans so far, on its tummy at this last scan with legs/ankles tightly crossed and hands over its face, so there was absolutely no way of telling gender!! Little madamGrin (I think it's a girl due to the naughtiness!)

Snowflake15 · 10/05/2015 22:35

Aww how cute though! My boy always has his ankles up and crossed too, we've got super chilled, cheeky naughty babies!Grin

Lovelybitofsquirrel · 10/05/2015 22:39

Crafty I was 22 weeks before I felt anything "proper" with ds, it felt like a washing machine doing a slow turn iyswim

Treaclepie19 · 10/05/2015 22:50

Yeah snowflake I think baby is still very low down.
I'm constantly needing the toilet (but not when I get there) and feeling twinges which I think is him moving.

Anomaly scan tomorrow, nervous!
Good luck to everyone else with a scan tomorrow!

I'm weeing loads too, or needing to then a trickle comes out!

I've got to go back for a rescan as they couldn't get everything on 20 weeker. Then I've got to have growth scans every 2-3 weeks as I'm on insulin injections. Each time I'm going to be on willy-watch even though we aren't finding out. I might ask and just not tell anyoneSmile

sauvblanc21 · 11/05/2015 06:31

All the best today treacle xx

ambientolf · 11/05/2015 07:32

Speaking of weeing, I had my first ever sneeze/wee last night. Sorry for TMI but I can't believe my pelvic floor is going already, I'm only 21 but feel like a pensioner! Please tell me it gets better!!!! I have to laugh or ill cry Grin

-does pelvic floor exercises-

Snowflake15 · 11/05/2015 07:52

Good luck treacle and everyone else with scans todaySmile

ovumahead · 11/05/2015 09:12

Good luck treacle!

letshopetheyallgeton · 11/05/2015 12:04

Had scan today and seems likely to be a girl. This will be an equaliser for us, as we'll have 2 of each. Very happy with outcome!

Treaclepie19 · 11/05/2015 13:14

Thanks all :) All went well thank goodness and they think he is a boy so that agrees with our private scan :)

Congrats lets :)

good news on the scans!

ambient I have to say I don't think it gets better Shock I was (naively) assuming that the bladder control thing would be more of a "Oh I definitely need to go, but it's smaller than it was so I can't hold it for as long" instead of what's actually happening which is "oh shit, I just sneezed, did I do an involuntary wee?? But I didn't even think I needed to go!" or worse, which I suspect is starting to happen, in that I'm not even noticing Blush

I think this is the start of the loss of dignity...

duckbilled · 11/05/2015 14:43

I had my scan today and looks like another little girl. I am thrilled, I always wanted a sister growing up and now my dd will Smile

Choccyhobnob · 11/05/2015 15:54

One naughty little boy who took 1hr 15 to get all the measurements as just would not keep still or turn the right way up! Everything is fine though and finally got a picture of his face and some good ones of his feet lol

ovumahead · 11/05/2015 16:07

Lovely scan pics!

For those of you concerned about wetting yourselves, I've basically been mildly incontinent since the start of this pregnancy! There's no hope for me.... Trying to remember to do pelvic floors but keep forgetting. Plus I just hate the feeling of doing them! Don't know why...

jaxtreehorn · 11/05/2015 16:45

Hi, hope it's ok to join the thread so late in the day, but I have only just joined Mumsnet this week.

I'm due September 30th, this will be my first baby after miscarriage at 12 weeks.

Had my 20 week scan last thursday and all seems to be ok, although we are not finding out the sex.

Had terrible morning sickness, but second tri seems to be ok so far and starting to feel some movement :)

Will try and have a look at some of your past threads so I know what stage everyone is at :)

Treaclepie19 · 11/05/2015 16:57

We had the same choccy! They really struggled to get all the measurements.

Here are our pics :)

Oh and for anyone worried about movement - I'm 21+2 and been so worried about it but all was fine and my placenta is posterior so should be no reason for not feeling much! (I think i have to accept ive been feeling movement and thinking it's other things)

Jaxtree - congrats, we've got the same edd! (mine put back a couple of days after scan). This is DD2 and DC4, but also had a few MCs on the way and terrible morning sickness. It was the ones where I wasn't sick that didn't last.

jaxtreehorn · 11/05/2015 17:55

Congrats to you too Letshope! I did wonder whether I should join the September or October thread as I'm sure I will be overdue with it being my first. Will have to wait and see! :-)
