Felt we might need a new thread to get through the night feeds and labours!

Thanks penguin
I'm joining the no sleep club tonight. Just can't get comfy, back and bottom of bump just keep aching. I'd love to think that my body is doing something productive but at 8 days overdue I think it's all wishfull thinking. Darent wake dh coz he'll get excited that I'm labour when really I'm just being soft and I'm just a bit achey lol its probably thanks to the long walk with the dog and the fact I sat on the floor watching my rounders team lay for 2 hours, I knew I should have taken a chair to sit on.

PenguinPoser · 21/04/2015 01:48

Ouch 2 hours on the floor does not sound comfortable! Would a hot water bottle or something help you feel more comfortable? Do you have any plans for sweep/induction yet with being 8 days over? Hope you manage to get some sleep.

I'm debating waking dd to try and get her to feed more as she's asleep after 10min which isn't long for her and suspect I'll be up again before long...

Thanks for new feed penguin!

And it is comforting to hear I'm not the only one feeling like a sleep deprived milk machine!!

Hiding hope you manage to get comfy enough to sleep a bit. Add more pillows! Wink

Hi Maki79 welcome! Don't remember seeing you around the thread before although apologies if I've missed you Grin. Hope you too manage to get some sleep. My dd is 5 weeks now she was one of the (many) April babies that didn't want to wait until April!

I think there are probably more if us in the same boat too underwood! Have decided not to wake her so about to try return to crib and see what happens...

I left DD with OH and she went about 3 hours after her marathon feed so I got 3 hours sleep albeit broken.
This milk thing is all in her mind, like a kid circling the sweet jar..going back for "just one more" to the point where he/she doesn't even want a sweet-they're just there. That's what my DD is like with my boob. If I had stayed downstairs she would've happily carried on feeding longer.

Underwood2013 · 21/04/2015 02:07

Still feeding here. Hope you get some sleep penguin - more than 10 mins at least!!

Welcome maki!

ChickenMe · 21/04/2015 02:10

Ps Penguin I hate it when they do that - get you up to feed for a really short time.

Hi Maki79!

Thanks for thread PenguinPoser

If it helps at all FizzyBubbly ds1 was a tough baby but ds2 was really chilled. Happy to sit in his bouncy chair, self settled from a few days old, no colic, no exploding poo's and then he moved absolutely totally different children in every way!

Sam had a cluster feeding evening but I don't mind that so much as he's then slept 10-2.20 so feel a bit better for a block of sleep. Yesterday he slept a lot in the day, no cluster feeding and I was up a lot more. Going to try and out him down now Grin

Wineandchoccy · 21/04/2015 03:04

Welcome Maki79

Thanks for the new thread penguin I can't believe how many we have filled.

I hope Rl is enjoying newborn snuggles by now

I'm up feeding but I have managed to sleep since 11.45pm as DH had to settle Eleanor. She feeds really well but struggles to get her wind up then is sick quite a long time after, is this colic, acid reflux??

Hidingthefear · 21/04/2015 03:05

penguin I felt fine on the floor until I got up then was a bit achey. I went downstairs and microwaved my beanbag thingy.Just keep leaning back on it when it hurts. still Getting aches at bottom of bump too sobeginning to wonder if something might be starting.
Had a sweep last Tuesday and got one booked for today too. Don't worry maki if you do need a sweep I genuinely found mine ok. Just relax and breath and it's all over very quick.
haha underwood maternity pillow is keeping me company quite well at the mo Smile
think I might put my relaxation track on again and see if I can drift off, or at least relax for a bit.
btw, did we hear anything more from RL? Hope she's doing ok.

alittleegglayonaleaf · 21/04/2015 03:21

Morning ladies, nice to have a new thread, hopefully I can keep up with this one :) glad all the babies seem to be thriving, perhaps they'll be some more by morning

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 21/04/2015 03:48

It's amazing what these babies do to you. was so fed up at the end of the last feed at 11:45 and fell straight asleep. and she just woke me up with some gentle wimpering at 3:30. Now I'm looking at her angelic little face, wondering how I could possibly have felt anything but love!!! Grin

Far too soppy?

Lauren82000 · 21/04/2015 03:52

Hmm woke up at 3 bursting for a wee and a painful bump. Since then I've had about 5 contractions. Dare I hope... Hmm make that 6.

PenguinPoser · 21/04/2015 03:53

Hope something is happening hiding!

Haven't heard from RL since she went on the drip... She must have had baby by now or at least be very close!

I'm feeding again... One of those long nights I think. Yesterday evening she went 5h after a big feed so know she can do it but tonight it's more snack and nap...

Chicken I totally agree with your analogy!

PenguinPoser · 21/04/2015 03:53

Ooh yay Lauren fingers crossed Grin

FiRaffe · 21/04/2015 03:56

I know the feeling littlegrey! DS is refusing his moses basket so far tonight so struggling a bit but he keeps giving me (inadvertent) cheeky grins as if to say I don't need to sleep mummy!!

Thanks for the new thread Penguin.

FiRaffe · 21/04/2015 03:57

Ooh yay Lauren. Fingers crossed!

Lauren82000 · 21/04/2015 04:03

Just had another one, trying to decide if I should get out of bed or not? Or perhaps wake DH? They do seem to be quite close together. I suppose I should start timing them.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 21/04/2015 04:08

Oooh exciting Lauren!!

Hidingthefear · 21/04/2015 04:12

Oo lauren good luck. I opted for getting up and now in the bath surrounded by candles In an effort to relax.
I told DH to get in bed and go back to sleep, if this is the start of things ill need him awake lol. I feel wide awake now.
Not bothering to time for now, just focusing on breathing through each one while I can. 3 hours has flown by, doesn't time fly when you're having fun Hmm

Wineandchoccy · 21/04/2015 04:16

Yippee Lauren it sounds like it's starting, good luck.

Madam does not want to go back in her crib so cuddles on Mummy it is. For a small thing she has a strong grip she has grabbed my hair and won't let go, ouch.

We are registering her today our appointment is at 9.30 it's the 1st time we have had to be out of the house at a certain time.

Wineandchoccy · 21/04/2015 04:17

Oh and hiding I hope things are starting for you and the bath relaxes you.

Lauren82000 · 21/04/2015 04:21

Least I'm not alone if were together Hiding. I have decided I don't like the contraction timer it's freaking me out. 2 contractions 4 mins apart does not sound good. That's got to be wrong right? I've only been contracting for an hour and 20! They aren't that painful though. Well I mean they bloody hurt but I could take more if that makes sense and I'm surprised it's not in my back either considering back to back baby.
