Felt we might need a new thread to get through the night feeds and labours!

Congratulations Lauren82000!! Yay, another one avoiding induction Grin. The question is did you get the bed built first Wink

smogsville · 21/04/2015 17:47

Lauren and Hiding wonderful news! So after the slowest build-up, the fastest birth (by the sounds of it)?

TinyTear · 21/04/2015 17:48

Wow Lauren, scary! And exciting...

BrixtonBunny · 21/04/2015 17:57

Wow Lauren!! Amazing! Congrats on your DD xx

kismac · 21/04/2015 18:04

Oh my goodness, Lauren! Hope you are all ok.

Fell asleep again! Just can't seem to stay awake. Is that normal? Contractions feel a bit more intense now. I feel like this might last forever. Hospital appointment tomorrow where they'll do a sweep which I hope will really get things going.

FiRaffe · 21/04/2015 18:07

Congratulations Lauren!

If you can sleep kismac I would. I needed all the energy I could get by the time pushing came and it's not like I could sleep after with shaking from the adrenalin!

smogsville · 21/04/2015 18:09

Fizzy - LOL for your DH's shag!

Lauren82000 · 21/04/2015 18:16

Yes bed was built by 1pm I nipped to the loo for a poo and contractions instantly ramped up (took me about 20mins to get off) I went downstairs to call delivery suit and then all of a sudden DH was struggling with my soaked jeans as I was pushing! Shock Still in quite a bit of shock to be honest. Had a barrage of visitors through the door but everyone has gone now and DH has just taken DD to go and get a new duvet set for her bed. (She's a bit too excited!) so I'm sat quiet with little madam. She's had a little nibble off both boobs but not on long before she comes off. Nightmare getting her on though, her mouth is only little and my nipples are huge!

cinnamongreyhound · 21/04/2015 18:27

I think very quick labours can be as traumatic as longer ones. Glad your dh had the day off! Who'd have thought a poo could start labour Shock

Lauren82000 · 21/04/2015 18:34

Me and DH just looked at each other as if, 'did that really happen?' Shock Just wish she would do more than lick my nipples. Just let off a very long set of bottom bubbles Grin

cowbiscuits · 21/04/2015 18:40

Wow Lauren! That's amazing! Congratulations! Hope you're not too shaken up!

BananaToast · 21/04/2015 18:44

Not getting too excited but I think I've been having some mild contractions. I had some lower back ache/period pains this pm while out in the garden and since coming in at about 4pm I've been timing them and they seem to be every 5-15 mins lasting about 30-45 seconds. Nothing I'd call painful but more than the painless tightenings I've been having the last few days - a bit uncomfortable, like mild period pains. Here's hoping they pick up tonight.

40+1

Ooh fingers crossed banana you'll have to keep us updated during the night feeds if things are ramping up!

Oh lauren WOW!!!! And already home alone, kudos to you!!! Omg what a shock. It may take some time to sink in, hopefully it doesn't hit you hard or anything. Fast maybe but how special for you and dh. What was dd1 doing?!

I did love the way you just wrote it up matter of factly in the post, made me smile. Enjoy your mummy and new baby time. I'm sure she will latch soon. We're you hoping for a home birth? How come a midwife managed to arrive for the last push? Did the hospital arrange that?

I found my fast (though augmented) labour quite traumatic and it was expected, I think you need to allow yourself time to adjust. So glad that all is ok and dd is here safely Smile Flowers

Sending good wishes kismac

brummagem · 21/04/2015 19:23

Eeek lauren missed your post was a crossed effort! Bloody hell that was fast! Congratulations! Hope you're all doing well and over the shock! Flowers

Congratulations to hiding too! Flowers

It's all go!

I'm organising my spotify playlist for when in labour/hospital got a classical playlist and a random selection from 50s to current stuff. Banking on In Paradisum to help me through the tough parts. Grin

brummagem · 21/04/2015 19:31

Lots of pom pom waving for banana and kismac too!

We need a pompom emoji. Sometimes cake and flowers doesn't quite cut it.

Underwood2013 · 21/04/2015 19:49

Wow - congrats Lauren (fastest birth ever?!), RL and hiding!! Very busy day on the baby front - guess they all wanted to beat the royal baby out! Wink
Hope things get going for those of you waiting for babies to make a move... Hang in there!

Had both midwife and health visitor today - bit odd to have hv turn up before being signed off by midwife! Midwife came later on and was happy to discharge us, good thing! Dd has gained 9oz since birth 11 days ago, she likes her milk it seems. I'm just hoping the boob soreness dies down soon!
Brumma your comment about playlist made me remember - I forgot to bring my iPod into theatre but they had lots of music to choose from, I ended up opting for Ed Sheeran... Dd was born to thinking out loud!

Hope everyone is having a nice time in the sunny weather while it lasts!

IvegotaCaveTroll · 21/04/2015 20:27

Wow- another busy day. Congratulations RL, Lauren and Hiding.

What an event Lauren- but how special to just be at home!

We had first big trip out today (day 11)- DD loved her car seat and pram and slept all through. However whilst I changed her on the back seat of the car she weed and pooed. I don't know how I managed to stop wee going everywhere. She does this at almost all changes!

FiRaffe · 21/04/2015 20:32

Wahoo lots of babies today.

My hv phoned and booked an appointment for Friday even though we've not been signed off too. What do they do on the first appointment?

Lauren82000 · 21/04/2015 20:46

Luckily DD1 was at preschool and DH went to get her while the mw was doing her paperwork. I feel a bit bad that she was saying it was an unplanned home birth on the phone while she was trying to arrange cover for her other calls. It was her first home birth as she had only been on the community rotation for 2 weeks!

cowbiscuits · 21/04/2015 20:53

Oooh banana that sounds promising! Hope you're OK!

I've had a lovely day today with my little boy, outside most of day, been really active, ran about playing football. Hoping it does something! I'm exhausted but he's been a little star so I'm not too stressed. Was thinking it might be the last day of just me and him (nursery rest of week) so I wanted to have a good time and spoil him a bit. Two different parks, picnic and ice cream. We went to dMILs for dinner so he's still not asleep.

Hope everyones new babies are ok. I have a feeling I might be rolling over into May...

cinnamongreyhound · 21/04/2015 21:03

Ds1 wee'd at every nappy change IveGotaCaveTroll! glad you had a good trip Smile

I had a problem with ds2 Underwood2013, something political was going on between midwife and hv and I was caught in the Middle! Hv wanted mw to discharge me before she'd come out and mw wouldn't say when she'd sign me off!

She chatted to me about sleeping advice, how I am, how Sam is, feeding, immunisations, clinics and children's centre groups. She ripped lots of bits out of his red book and took them with her FiRaffe. She also asked about birth barks to do a body map but he has none and offered me a leaflet about dealing with crying. Dh said 'you just shake them don't you?' Luckily she had a sense of humour! She used to be a paediatric nurse so was quite aware of what we were going through with hospital visits which was nice.
