Felt we might need a new thread to get through the night feeds and labours!

Good luck to everyone contracting and waters going! How exciting :)

Good luck also for the weigh ins today. Always anxious times for me I hate putting dd on the scales Incase she hasn't gained enough weight. I'll get her weighed again tomorrow.

Thinking of you cowbiscuits it's horrible to be that uncomfortable. And Brummagem lol at prodding bump with a fork - like checking if it's cooked Grin

Gosh it's all got going here overnight it seems - good luck Lauren, Hiding and kismac!

I woke up and had a bloody show so hoping I'm not too far off. Still getting lots of BHs but nothing painful unfortunately. Today I plan to go for lots of walks and bounce on my ball!

Lauren82000 · 21/04/2015 10:19

Banana I reckon it was taking DD to the park on her bike yesterday that kicked me off. I picked her up a few times to put her on the swings, good luck with your walking.

Just made a bacon and scrambled egg butty for me and DH. Had 2 contractions close together whilst i was stood cooking. No help from DH at all! It's all about him this morning, after pulling something in his neck/back on Saturday he played footy last night and someone nudged him into a post whist he was running for the ball. So add a bruised knee, shoulder and head to the original injury and he keeps moaning that he's in pain! Shock Good job I know he's joking.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/04/2015 10:28

Sam is 20g over birth weight, I was a bit disappointed but having had two big boys who gained really quickly I suppose that's not surprising. Midwife said he looks well, she's very happy with him and birth weight by day 10 is expected so that's fine. She's discharged me to the hv and doesn't think I need to take him in today. She said that being on antibiotics can cause milk to speed through the digestive system so not as much is absorbed which slows weight gain too.

Hope dh is more useful once you're in established labour Lauren82000. Nice to have a day together though before baby makes an appearance even if things don't progress to labour today.

Loving all the oh's comments about missing boring meetings etc by being on paternity leave!! Best to get the most out of being of work I guess Grin

We have the rest of the day to ourselves Shock

Lauren82000 · 21/04/2015 10:38

What's even better Cinnamon is that DDs new bed has come so we have a nice job to do this afternoon to keep me active and distracted. Smile

TinyTear · 21/04/2015 10:47

My DH went back today and emailed to say he has over 4000 emails
At least most were automated alerts so now only 400 to actually deal with!!

Meanwhile I'm on the sofa

kismac · 21/04/2015 10:57

Oh good luck Banana.

Hope all the weigh ins go well today.

Threw up at 6am then fell asleep and only woke up again at 10am. Contractions are still coming but Im not going to time them until they hurt a bit more. DH is going to come with me to my hospital appointment tomorrow which will be nice as Im hopeful it'll be my last appointment. I've asked him to treat me to lunch afterwards too.

BrixtonBunny · 21/04/2015 10:58

Oooh good luck labouring ladies! So exciting that we'll have some more scrummy thread babies soon.

Lauren can you walk up and down some stairs? I found that brought my contractions closer together at least.

DP is asleep again taking a nap

BrixtonBunny · 21/04/2015 10:59

Oops pressed send too soon.

DP is napping, and DD has just dropped off as well - I'm knackered, so someone please explain why I can't sleep?!

Oh wait. DD's little eyes have just opened. Sigh.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/04/2015 11:12

I've just woken up with a stiff neck in the sofa BrixtonBunny so can't help!! I find feeding makes me sleepy so if Sam drifts off after a feed so do I if I don't have anything to get up for!

Sounds like a perfect afternoon Lauren82000 Confused

Your dh has been very good TinyTear! Mine has been taking calls and replying to emails daily Sad

Lauren82000 · 21/04/2015 11:22

Oo that one made my eyes water Confused

RL20 · 21/04/2015 11:23

So after barely any sleep after my waters breaking on Saturday night, our little boy was finally born this morning at 1.21am weighing 7lbs 7oz. No name as yet!
Couldn't have done it without the epidural, I managed to sleep during labour and through contractions, was awful having it put in though. Unfortunately had to have a cut for him to come out Confused so lots of stitches as a muscle inside tore.
He is beautiful and will update more later on. Thanks everyone for the support and hope everyone is ok xx

kismac · 21/04/2015 11:28

Aww RL, lovely news! Hope you are recovering well and enjoying your little one.

Lauren82000 · 21/04/2015 11:29

Congrats RL we were all wondering if you'd had the baby. Smile Enjoy your little boy snuggles.

Wineandchoccy · 21/04/2015 11:29

Massive congratulations RL enjoy the newborn cuddles

FizzyBubbly · 21/04/2015 11:34

Congrats RL! Glad you got some rest with the epidural in the end, well done!

PenguinPoser · 21/04/2015 11:35

Congratulations RL so pleased for you!!

Siarie · 21/04/2015 11:37

Congrats RL, I found the epidural totally painless. Do you think it's down to the person doing it? The guy who did mine was really really confident and seemed to really know what he was doing.

Can't believe my DD isn't due for six more days and she's 12 days old now. Seriously would not have wanted her to come out of me any other way than C Section now given how big she seems!

ChickenMe · 21/04/2015 11:37

Yay RL was just wondering how you were doing - so pleased your little boy is here. Congratulations xx

cinnamongreyhound · 21/04/2015 11:37

Great news RL20! I have been lucky to not to have an episiotomy with any of mine but there are others who have who I'm sure can give you positive healing stories. Congratulations on your little mans arrival Flowers

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 21/04/2015 11:40

Huge congratulations RL!!! Enjoy every second either your gorgeous boy!!! x

FiRaffe · 21/04/2015 12:11

Glad baby is here safely RL and hope you can rest and feel better soon. Stitches are uncomfortable but they do get better and keep up the pain killers!

daholster · 21/04/2015 12:13

Wow RL hooray!!!! Now time to rest, enjoy your little man, and heal. You did it xx

daholster · 21/04/2015 12:18

Oh and good luck to the labouring ladies!!!

PS Bahaha D's gained 10g overall from day 0 to day 9. From day 9 to day 12 he has gained another 150g!!! Now weighs 8lb 1oz. My little boy is growing up already! Shock pleased and happy but slightly sad too that he is getting big! Apparently the last midwife was worried about all my crying... This is more why I was not discharged I think... Discharged today midwife v happy. No tears today!!!

BrixtonBunny · 21/04/2015 12:19

Hurrah RL - congratulations! I didn't have an episiotomy but I did have a second degree tear (muscle and skin) and I honestly thought the healing would be way more painful than it is. My stitches get a bit sore if I've been walking around but plenty of rest and paracetamol will do the trick. You can also try freezing a pad with a bit of water on to numb the area.

Siarie I think it must be luck of the draw as my epidural didn't hurt either - the local anaesthetic stung a bit and then it felt very odd going in but the whole thing was nowhere near as bad as I'd thought. The anaesthetist was fab though.

Cinnamon after complaining I did just nap for 30 minutes when DD dropped back off to sleep. I'll take what I can get!
