Felt we might need a new thread to get through the night feeds and labours!

Huge congrats RL - glad you've finally got him in your arms!

DH looked at the weather forecast this morning and saw the sun is meant to go by the weekend so he would like baby to arrive asap so he gets some time off while it's nice. Have just hiked up a big hill and about to head back home - will stop and buy a pineapple en route Grin Come on baby!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 21/04/2015 12:50

I'd also recommend a bit of witch doctor witch hazel gel on your pad... cooling, numbing and reduces swelling as well as encouraging skin healing!!

kismac · 21/04/2015 12:57

Great news on getting discharged Daholster. Glad you're not feeling as emotional

Sitting in the local pub eating a chicken wrap whilst having contractions. That's not stupid, right?

ChickenMe · 21/04/2015 13:09

Five weeks on my episiotomy seems ok. But I remember crying over it. It hurt to sit down. It stings a bit sometimes now but bearable. Epsom salts in the bath are good. Lots of baths!
The only thing I'm wondering about is the lochia. It's green?!?Hmm Anyone?

FiRaffe · 21/04/2015 13:16

Sounds good to me kismac - they can do the washing up!!!!

FiRaffe · 21/04/2015 13:19

Ooh hit post by accident!

Great news daholster. Midwife isn't coming here until tomorrow (day 11). It's odd the differences even so close together.

Sounds perfect kismac!

Mine is still quite pink/red ChickenMe, so can't help. It will go brown but not sure green is good. Has it changed in smell or consistency.

Yay for weight gain daholster and for being less teary. Hopefully hv will still keep an eye in that too Flowers

brummagem · 21/04/2015 15:19

Wooohoooo RL congratulations Flowers

Lovely to hear all the babies are growing nicely.

Great news daholster Smile

smogsville · 21/04/2015 15:19

Congrats RL and best of luck to the labourers!

Day 5 visit went ahead today. DS has lost 3% of body weight, mw seems pleased with this, naturally I am furious as DD had gained half an ounce by then! But I was doing literally every feed skin to skin with DD, me naked on top, her stripped down to nappy and blanket on back even in middle of night so it's no wonder. I simply haven't got the energy to manage that this time.

Stitches are out and mw happy with way it's healing. Next visit at 10 days.

smogsville · 21/04/2015 15:36

Chicken i would give the mw a call about green lochia if I were you.

FizzyBubbly · 21/04/2015 15:46

Agree with Smogs, would give MW a call re lochia.

Was refused a sweep this morning as expected so might treat DH to a long overdue shag this evening Wink

ChickenMe · 21/04/2015 15:55

Thanks guys, not sure if it smelt; I will monitor and phone doc tomorrow. It was normal colour subsequently but green is always a warning I think. Yuck.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 21/04/2015 16:06

Midwife just left. DD has lost 6% but seems very happy and healthy apparently! I'll try and fatten her up a bit more by Sunday!

Hope all in labour are coping well!

daholster · 21/04/2015 16:12

hiding had a little boy this morning! Grin

cowbiscuits · 21/04/2015 16:22

Congratulation RL20! And Hiding!

Getting jealous now. It sounds mad to actually want to be in labour.

Beautiful sunshine here. Had an active day been round two parks with DS, picnic, walking, ice cream, playing football in the hope it might start something. At least I've got a toddler asleep on the sofa. Now I'm having a lie down!

Lauren82000 · 21/04/2015 16:25

Well that was a crazy afternoon. Somehow ended up giving birth on the couch at home. DH caught the head then the mw arrived to catch the body! I have another little girl, no name yet, 6lb 11oz at 2pm.

brummagem · 21/04/2015 16:26

Know that feeling cow I'm resigned to the fact he's not making an appearance any time soon. I couldn't find a fork so prodded him with a knitting needle instead. He just ignored me. Nice to see the way things are going to be have been established already haha.

Wineandchoccy · 21/04/2015 16:29

Congratulations hiding

We have registered Eleanor this morning so she is all official Smile

DH took her for a walk earlier whilst I had a snooze and now it's DH turn turn for a nap. I hope this weather lasts while we are all on Mat leave it's lovely, I'm sat in the garden eating a magnum and Eleanor is asleep in her pram with the cat asleep under the pram basket Grin

Wineandchoccy · 21/04/2015 16:31

Wow congratulations Lauren I'm guessing you weren't planning on having a home birth!

BananaToast · 21/04/2015 16:32

Wow Lauren - congratulations!
