Hi everyone,
it's my birthday today! I have celebrated by having a nice meal and a (shot) glass of wine, and I might stay up after 9:30!
Wild night!

emmymummy · 31/10/2006 21:06

Happy birthday Katy. 9.30 eh? That's pretty wild! Afraid I won't last that long, am off to bed now - nightie night.

weeonion · 31/10/2006 22:06

happy birthday katy - hope it was a nice one

muminamini · 01/11/2006 08:16

Oh my lord - how much to catch up on???

Welcome to new ladies and big hugs to EVERYONE cos it all sounds like you need them! What a lot of bad DH's, bosses, neighbours....so sorry to hear of everyones worries and stresses, if I went through them all I would foget and leave someone out so please beleive me that I have read and sympathised with you all - my heart goes out to you.

CD - hope the potty training is going ok - I can safely say that in 2 weeks I have cracked the wee with DH but pooing is a totally different matter....he is as wespeak running around screaming "nappy on nappy on" i.e - I want a poo!

I'm afraid he doesn't get a nappy and ends up having an accident - he just refuses to go on the pottee - I keep thinking - well it's no big deal but I just wonder when he will decide for himself to give it a go!

Had a nice weekend - went visiting rellies and bawled my heart out at the Royle Family on Sunday - I just thought it was the most wonderfully funny and poigniant piece of telly I have ever seen.

Feeling lots better MS wise but very sore head! Don't know if it's because when our heating is on it's like a sauna and I'm dehydrating though! lol

Scan is not til 6th Dec...erm not alot else happening. Just glad I've managed to catch up with you all...I struggle to keep up if I can't get on every day!

Love to all

Happy birthday!

Emmymummy - Bath is a really lovely place and I also love the christmas markets - love going at night when it is all lit up and frosty - eat lots of chestnuts and mulled wine! To compensate for lack of mulled wine this year am I am going to the thermae bath spa, then for dinner and then to christmas markets with a friend - total indulgence!

Midwife appointment this morning and then work this afternoon - really don't want to! Is dh birthday today - maybe should pull out all the stops and consider sex!! tee hee!!

Greengirlforever · 01/11/2006 09:36

Happy birthday to Katy for yesterday. That was the date my DS1 was due - didn't come till 18 days later though!

Had lovely Hallow'een - went trick or treating with some friends, DS2 was the youngest of them all and looked soooo adorable!!! Was going to post photo last night but our internet was down .

CFK - I like the idea of birthday sex ! DH's birthday is at the end of November by which time I MAY have forgiven him for the Africa thing, IF he's made it up to me big time by then.... Of course that's if I don't change my mind and go off with my best mate....

Off to Google freecycling.

Sexonlegs · 01/11/2006 09:41

MIAM, so your DH has mastered pees on the potty!!!! Made me laugh.

Belated Happy Birthday Katy - hope all your wishes come true.

Not much to report here. Still feeling nauseous which is getting annoying now.
Dd is winding me up no end today. She is incapable of amusing herself (she is 3 1/2) and I have no time to do anything. I am finding it really boring. Sorry, bad mummy. Am I the only one?

muminamini · 01/11/2006 09:45

LMAO!!!!
What am I like!
I always get my DH's and DS's mixed up
DS has been very quiet actually - best go and find him....he's probably hiding in a corner having a poo!

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2006 09:52

Feeling tired and a bit this morning, no real reason, just one of those mornings, I guess!!? Well, I do know part of the reason for the tiredness (apart from being PG, of course!!?) - DH and stayed out at a friend's til 12am last night!!! Was lovely and we had yummy Chinese Take Away - Scrummo!!

Happy Birthday for yesterday Katy!! Hope you had a lovely day - did you do anything special!!?

MIAM - Nice to know someone else you is going through the rigours of potty training atm too. I think DD is so very nearly there with the wees (still needs constantly encouraging and reminding though!), but is definitely not there with the poos - I am the same about putting a nappy on - I am afraid I just let her have an accident in the hope that she will learn!!?

Cornflake - Well Done on your 1st cake - sounds delicious!!

Hi nuttygirl - Good to see you!! Sorry about your lips, not experiencing it myself, but sounds v.painful - ow ow ow! Hope it stops soon!

Good to have you back ooooogs - I think 1becomes3 will appreciate the company of another twins mummy-to-be!! Glad you are feeling better, have been worried about you - know that the sickness can be really really awful in twins PG. [hugs]

Great to see you too bubba, my fellow due date buddy - have missed you!

Wow - this thread is fast!!

Sexonlegs · 01/11/2006 09:53

It's awful when they go quiet isn't it as you know they are up to no good! I usually find dd smearing expensive face cream all over the place. The other day I found her in her room with several boxes of tampons - all opened! Love her - if only she knew what they are for!!!

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2006 09:55

SOL - Just what I needed to hear right now!! My DD1 is 2.8 and can't occupy herself for a moment - v.exhausting - and v.boring!! [[hugs]] Totally understand how you feel - and sympathise with the "going quiet" thing too - usually means she up to something naughty!! Eeeeek!

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2006 09:55

Whoops!

muminamini · 01/11/2006 09:56

Just wanted to say!
I've just been doing some online Xmas shopping...I've always trudged round the shops but the thought of it this year....eugh

Anyway...I can't beleive how much money I saved...I got a 20% discount at ELC (if you buy this months Mother and Baby Mag there is a discount voucher) and Argos had loads of internet only offers with £3 to £5 off the store price - I've saved about £30 (even though I've also paid for delivery).

Just thought I'd mention it to those who may not be internet shoppers (I've always been a bit wary) but I've just found the whole experience so easy and it will hopefully all arrive at my door on Saturday!

Better than hauling my tired behind around preston!
X

Sexonlegs · 01/11/2006 10:02

Sorry CD!! Perhaps your dd will be fab at occupying herself by then! I find it so irritating, and I know that is a dreadful thing to say, but just being honest.
MIAM thanks for the insider info. I have started xmas shopping recently. Whenever I go out to get something, I try and pick up 1 or 2 pressies at the same time.

muminamini · 01/11/2006 10:04

no...the silence was pulling candle wax out of the pumpkin lantern and putting it in his cup of milk..... lol

CD - takeaway sounded lovley, Yeah - the no nappy thing is the best way I think - the only thing is I feel terrible if he has an accident at nursery cos he gets so upset...I don't feel like they give me much feedback as to how they think he is doing....I don't worry too much as he only goes a full day on Monday but I suppose it will just happen in time...Good Luck!

Sexonlegs · 01/11/2006 10:11

Hi Twinkle, have you spoken to your mw about it? Hopefully it was just a one off, but if you are worried, I would call her and let her know.
Enjoy your doughnut! I am on the banana milkshake today - yummy!!!

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2006 10:23

Good idea about the doughnut twinkle - Better to be safe than sorry, eh!!?

DD1 went to nursery yesterday and only had one wee accident and a poo accident right at the end of day. They are always good to give me feedback and said they thought she had done really well, bless her! You should just ask them - they should know what your child's been up to all day, after all - they've been looking after him!!

CornflakeKid · 01/11/2006 10:39

Midwife appointment went well - right size/strong heartbeat etc - have found out can go to doctors for diabetes test which is good - hate going all way to hosp. Also she has agreed I can wait til after 36 weeks to see consultant (previous section) and that I only need to go once - hoorah! That will save around 25,677,788 hours of waiting time!

My next appointment not til 27 December as scan in between - says as long as all is okay in scan and baby is growing no need to see me til then. Thank goodness got my fetal listening thing - not hearing heartbeat for that long would be unbearable!

I have also started some christmas shopping - just bits as have seen them - have also agreed with dh that we don't need to go mad food shopping this year - I always get so much and we never eat it all! We are going to have beef on xmas day, a nice pudding and lots of cheese & pickles etc. Probably have ham & colcannon on boxing day - yummmmmmmyyyyyyyyy!

Have just eaten half packet of choccie biscuits! Must go make something soon for lunch before work.

CaptainDippy · 01/11/2006 10:43

LOL @ hours of waiting Cornflake!!

Looking forward to my appointment next week! Am I supposed to make it or is the mw supposed to contact me - or does it depends where you live??

Don't worry about me - this is only the third time I've done this!!

Ahem.

CornflakeKid · 01/11/2006 11:10

If yo don't know I woud call them! I make my next appointment each time I go.

Still browsing mn and have found another conflake - called cornflakegirl! Maybe I should change my name to cornflakewantagirl!

DH has been through baby name book and made a full alphabetical list of all the names he likes - bless! Think we will deifinitely find out the flavour! PPPPPIIIIINNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKK

Must go do stuff now!

twinkle183 · 01/11/2006 11:19

Thanks for the advice girls!!

I really enjoyed my doughnut!!! I notice that everyone is potty training.. any advice have 2 3/4yr old ds that is not interested in the potty.. How do I know he is ready or should I just go for it and try it!!! Please help I don't even know where to begin!!!!

twinkle183

CornflakeKid · 01/11/2006 11:28

Twinkle - I did ds1 too soon - he wasn't ready and it was a nightmare but I preservered - never again! DS2 was done 3 weeks before my new carpet was due to arrive - no discussion or anything and he was dry day and night within the week! My advice would be to wait til ready - saves an awful lot of stress - keep giving it a go but don't make too much work for yourself! 5 wet pairs of pants/trousers a day is not funny. Wet beds are even less funny...

Good luck!

runnyhabbit · 01/11/2006 12:14

Afternoon all

Glad to see everyone is a better mood! Lol at birthday sex. Dh had just realised I am at my most sexiest in the mornings! We both go to work with a smile on our faces And seeing as I'm waking up at 5.30 most mornings, seems silly to waste the time when ds is still sleeping. Remember being like this in 2nd trimester with ds. Have told dh to make the most of it

Dh apologised for yesterday morning and my boss is behaving much better today - I've still got him on tea making duty though.

Having my haircut this afternoon. Although I'm a bit miffed at Posh spice as I thought about having a bob before she did - now everyone will think I'm copying her
