OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
geordiemacminx · 31/10/2006 09:59

Yeah, as long as they have a record then there is no problem at all. I foned them when I did it to check and they said it was fine as you have bought your tax, they send it out pretty quick too.

To be honest they try and scare people with this ifyou dont pay we will fine you but my stupid stupid sister hasnt taxed her car for a month and they havent caught up with her yet.. very tempted to fone the DVLA and report her.

Greengirlforever · 31/10/2006 10:30

Good morning all and happy Hallow'een! I had a lovely start to the day when I saw my midwife and came out with a perfect bill of health. My measurement (height of fundus??) is exactly 17 inches and I will be 17 wks on Thurs. She put the listening thing on (not very technical, am I?) and we heard a really strong heartbeat instantly and also heard her making little jumps. Fantastic!

On the downside - I think I am brewing another one of my headaches and have already taken 2 lots of paracetamol since 5am this morning. Have to be on form for trick-or-treating tonight!

Runnyhabit - in response to your worries - probably a bit of both - pregnancy hormones and bloody stupid men!

Bugmum - lol at you biting your DS! If it's any comfort, my 2 were playing yesterday (which they do quite a lot despite 10 year age gap) and DS2 apparently ran into a wall. He now has a huge duck egg on his forehead to add to the Hallow'een look.....

1becomes3 · 31/10/2006 10:39

moring all lets hope that today turns out to be better than yesterday.
I for one am feeling like crap, I should be working as dd is in bed but I just can't concentrate, got a bangging headache so I think it will nap time for me too.
Runnyhabbit- it is just the hormones you have to just keep reminding yourself that you can't help the way you are feeling, and that if it were a normal non pregnant day you wouldn't feel any of the thing you are at the moment. It's not your fault.
(I hope that made sense can't think straight at the mo. My head is about to split open think I will go for my nap now.)

runnyhabbit · 31/10/2006 11:24

Thank you for your support x

So glad to be able to have a rant. Feeling much better now. Boss is on tea making duty

Ds looked sooo cute this morning in his Halloween costume (nursery have got a party today) They start their rehersals for Christmas concert soon. I'm welling up just thinking about it

For all those with headaches - maybe try solpaedeine soluable - my doc said one of them is fine as its just paracetemol and codeine, and it was a life saver. (although double check first)

Maybe we're all just having one of those weeks so lets make a pact to do one thing this week that we know will put a smile on our faces. Answers on a postcard please........

emmymummy · 31/10/2006 11:58

Runnyhabbit - I'm looking at some lovely photos of dd that make me very happy (they're so lovely I'm tempted share them with you all!). They make me realise that it's all worthwhile, even the vomiting and the headaches and the big wobbly tummies and the mood-swings, when you end up with a beautiful child at the end of it all! Awww I'm getting all soppy now

Greengirlforever · 31/10/2006 12:41

Share emmymummy, share! I think we all need cheering up to remember what this hormone nightmare is all about....

Sexonlegs · 31/10/2006 12:50

Hi all, sounds as if everyone is a bit more upbeat today. Yesterday was dreadful!
Hope everyone is feeling great!
I feel much better today - had a headache all day yesterday and was in bed at 9.00 pm as the lights were just too bright!
Might try the Solpadiene (sp?) if I get another cracker. I tried using that 4head stick again and it was crap. Did try to take paracetamol last night and very nearly barfed all over the kitchen (sorry tmi) but needless to say I ended up spitting the tablets out and heading to bed.
CFK, my dd is loving listening to the babies heartbeat as well. She talked about it this morning on the way to preschool. However, she thinks the baby is hers - "not yours Mummy".!!
Love her.
Anyway, Happy Halloween everyone and see you later on. xx

emmymummy · 31/10/2006 12:51

Tee hee! OK! here's one of them . Hope you like . I'm a very proud mummy.

Now you all need to share too!

Sexonlegs · 31/10/2006 12:53

Emmymummy, what a beautiful daughter! How old is she?

emmymummy · 31/10/2006 12:58

SoL - she's 4.5 (going on 13) bless her! Glad you like!

Greengirlforever · 31/10/2006 13:01

What a gorgeous little girl, Emmymummy!

Mind you, there's a twinkle in her eye - I predict trouble in a few years time....

I could post one of my littlest DS but someone would have to take me through the whole process step by step !

twinkle183 · 31/10/2006 13:23

I am glad that I am not the only one with the problem of dh not putting up his razor!! The amount of times that I have yelled at to put where ds can't get it

He goes away for 3 weeks on sunday!!! I will miss him but gives me a chance for some peace and quite!!!

Maybe just panicking but have just had some blood - maybe just over acting but am worried!! I don't have any pain and the baby gives me a prod every now and then!!! Not sure whats going on???

Am looking forward to my next scan so I can just know that everythings okay!!!

I cried at my family also cos I lost my nana january just gone!! So I know what your going through!!!

Hope everyone is well!!

Twinkle183

17+3

emmymummy · 31/10/2006 13:24

Ah yes, dh says he's going to vet all her boyfriends (if she's allowed any at all!).

GGF, the easiest way to link to photos is to stick them in photobucket.com, which then gives you a url link you can cut and paste in. Believe me, I am rubbish with computers, but even I managed to muddle my way through that one. So you've got no excuses not to share now!!!

Sexonlegs · 31/10/2006 13:36

Thanks emmymummy, I might try that later on. I am at work at the mo, so will try tonight.
Twinkle, was it red blood, brown or pinky?
Was it only when you wiped?
Sorry for all the personal questions - just so we can try and help put your mind at rest.
xx

pesha · 31/10/2006 13:43

Hi all, having a nightmare time. Had an interview at dss yesterday and someone has told them my dp is living with me even though everyone who knows me knows he is not but whoever it is obviously thinks he should be so is trying to force matters. I am so hurt and angry that someone could do this without actually knowing anything about me really. It has to be one of the mums at school and i think i know which one, hopefully ill find out when they go back next week. Anyway he cant move in cos we cant afford it, we'd have £7 a month to live off after bills and then whatever i was able to earn but seeing as im 15+4 today theres only 24 1/2 wks til baby due and you need to work for 26 wks to get any sort of maternity pay so we'd be pretty much shafted! So now he has to limit coming round to twice a week so i have to manage 2 kids on my own with horrid ms and have them asking where daddy is. Anyway i wont go on, i started a thread last night to rant on cos needed to get it all off my chest although prob shouldnt have used the word bitch in the title but was feeling a little emotional!
After the interview yesterday I spent all afternoon driving round town trying to find bloody pumpkins and have now spent all afternoon so far today searching for a pumpkin soup recipe i think the kids will like as i cant find mine but my inclination is leaning towards smashing the f*ing pumpkins with a sledge hammer and running up and down the street screaming But i wont!

emmymummy · 31/10/2006 13:52

Pesha, honey, what an absolute nightmare situation. I think you were quite justified in using the word Bitch in your new thread. Nasty old bitch (whoever she is) for sticking her nose in where it's none of her business. Throw those pumpkins against the wall - you go girl .

Bramshott · 31/10/2006 14:08

Awww, pesha! Sounds hideous.

I made a pumpkin soup on Sunday with paprika and a bit of chorizo in which DD ate (and she's not the best with soups!). I can post the recipie if it's the sort of thing, or have another one downstairs which seems to be fairly heavy on the cream & nutmeg.

OP posts:
Greengirlforever · 31/10/2006 14:18

Emmymummy - I have registed with photobucket.com and when I get home I will find some pictures (prob be quite late tonight after all the Hallow'eening). So everyone else can do the same!

Off to find Pesha's thread - sorry, I mean back to work, obviously!

CornflakeKid · 31/10/2006 14:26

Pesha - sledgehammer and pumpkin - what fun! Your home/finance situation seems a nightmare - please do ask if you need anything for the baby - I'm sure we could help out if you'll accept it. I hope that came out the right way!

GGF - have you thought about seeing a kineisiologist - I saw one with ds2 because of headaches and she worked out instantly that milk was causing them. Fine since and drink loads this pg - I think your body can become intolerant to certain everyday food/drink when you are pg. Or maybe try changing your diet to cut things out for a day and see if it helps. A friend of mine who does the Bowen technique says clenching your jaw too much causes headaches - so when in a stress or have a headache on I wiggle my jaw - not getting cross with boys also helps!

Photo was gorgeous - you must be very proud - looks almost angelic!

Greengirlforever · 31/10/2006 14:31

CFK, thanks for that . Funnily enough, I am just starting to look at options such as reflexology. I have heard of the Bowen technique and will research further. Ditto kineisiology - I am psyching myself up to clean up my diet by possibly omitting wheat, refined carbs & sugar and possibly (gulp!) dairy. I will not however be having any goat products under any circumstances as they are totally vile!!

Now I really really will go back to work!

geordiemacminx · 31/10/2006 14:39

I've had hurrendous headaches/migranes for the past few days... I know it sounds stupid now, but I have realised that it started at the same time as I developed a craving for diet coke. I had a bottle, can and big glass yesterday, and was in agony last night. Think my body has had an adverse reaction to the caffine, especially since I dont normally drink it, and have cut down to 1 cup of tea a day since finding out I was pregnant?

Greengirlforever · 31/10/2006 14:44

Geordie Mac - apparently Diet Coke can indeed cause headaches, so I've read. I've cut right down on it, as normally I'm addicted, but I'm getting more headaches than ever !

geordiemacminx · 31/10/2006 14:57

well I'm back on my robinsons dilute stuff now... they can stick their diet coke up their arses!!!!

Sexonlegs · 31/10/2006 14:59

Headaches are awful aren't they. I think mine are due to tiredeness and also letting my blood sugar level get too low. DH keeps saying to eat every half an hour, but how practical is that!!
HTH

geordiemacminx · 31/10/2006 15:03

Yep I think thats probably true too, plus I have just started wearing glasses so that wont be helping either!!!

My dp is off to Liverpool to watch the football so I have been left all alone on halloween.. on the plus side, he bought me a bottle of chanel perfume and a pink sparkley eye mask thing..
