Ooouch. My little sister 'shaved' her chin with my godfather's razor once. Lots of blood. Eeek.

Also a bit behind the rest of you at 14+5 weeks but really want to know: a lot of people say the baby moving can feel like gas at first...so how do you know it ISN'T gas??

Aaah the serious issues that keep us occupied..

Sexonlegs · 30/10/2006 13:07

Oh 1becomes3, what a fright for you - all you need. My dh puts his ruddy razer blades in the bathroom bin, and I have asked him not to several times, as this is the kind of thing I am so fearful of.

Hope your dd is ok.

Men, honestly - it's a wonder we aren't all lesbians!!

CornflakeKid · 30/10/2006 13:24

I once caught ds1 when he was 1yr with my hairy legs razor in his mouth - he had even managed to detach the blade from the handle! But luckily no blood .... bad mummy moment!

Had another bad mummy moment on saturday - took ds2 to get new shoes - he had gone from 8 1/2 to size 10 - his poor little feet squashed into his trainers! Pre-occupation with feeling sick and tired has distracted from concerns over their feet size! Must go get ds1 done too!

Must now go be good mummy and find something for them to do - ds1, ds2 and two of friends girls have completely emptied a walk in wardrobe in ds1's room all over the floor - ggggrrrrrr - such a mess that I will need to tidy it all!

Just had yummy pizza express sloppy guiseppe and in need of cup of tea and chocolate!

Greengirlforever · 30/10/2006 13:29

SoL - now that you mention it - when DH eventually swans back from his African beach holiday I may just boot his useless ass out of the door and get my best mate in - she's single at the mo!

Bloody, bloody men though. Pesha - your dp needs to decide where his priorities lie! Football maybe but golf on xmas eve? - actually I need a "bleurgh" emoticon! Although, hormones or no hormones I am firmly of the opinion that golf generally should be banned....

Sexonlegs · 30/10/2006 13:35

GGF, pmsl at your post! Trouble is, dh would probably want to watch!!!
Golf - don't get me started on that subject. Fortunately dh and I hold the same thoughts on that - oooh, something we have in common!

pesha · 30/10/2006 13:39

Thankyou GGf, i think really its just the getting together with all his mates for a day that he likes more than the golf, I hope so anyway!
And he plays cricket all bloody summer too Still when we 1st met he played football sundays as well as sats, skittles every friday night and helped out with cubs on weds so he has cut down. Still has football training every tues and thurs night if he's not at work but im getting there .
He's got no cartiledge in 1 knee though and very dodgy cruciate ligament so prob only another year or 2 left before he has to retire sorry i mean of course

emned · 30/10/2006 13:44

Pesha - 18 weeks tomorrow so may start to feel something more definite soon. At the moment though wind is wind!!!!

CornflakeKid · 30/10/2006 13:55

I am also a golf widow Pesha - in fact just about to take my two boys up the driving range to wear them out! Can also be very handy to get time to myself!

We watch golf on tv...thank goodness for sky multiroom!

IsabellaMoi · 30/10/2006 14:23

Sounds like a lot of people are having a rough Monday.... Hope everything gets better soon.

Don't have much time but just have to comment on one thing:

2Becomes1, it's awful of people to focus on the work instead of being optimistic and happy for you. I must say I'm a wee bit of those with twins. You are doubly blessed! It's like you've won a lottery! Enjoy them and CONGRATULATIONS (times two!).

GGF: shocked at your DH having a solo beach holiday in Africa! The nerve!

Emned - WELCOME!

mammyjo · 30/10/2006 14:59

Thankyou very much Geordie for your kind offer. Would love to be able to say yes please for size 14 trousers but my arse is unfortunately rather more lardy at a portly size 18!!

Thanks to all for your kind wishes, it really does mean something you know (need soppy emoticon). Will fill you all in on my shitty weekend eventually, just really gutted about it all at the moment and keep bursting into tears. Hopefully it will all seem a bit better in a few days.

1becomes3 · 30/10/2006 15:13

mammyjo just read your message on the other thread. Sound as though you are not having the best time of it either.
Here's sending you a HUGE HUG feel better soon.
LOL

doghouse · 30/10/2006 15:13

Blimey, has taken AGES to catch up!
Liath - sorry about your grandma.
Mammyjo - sorry you are having a rubbish time.
emned - welcome and 'snap' on due dates. My first and I have 'felt' nothing yet either. Shouldn't be long though heh?!
1 becomes 3 - sorry about your rubbish weekend too.
on the DH front - he has possible 10 day ski trip planned in mid Feb which I am OK with but would have rather been 'asked' than 'told' IYKWIM.
Also, he was moaning that most evenings are spent with me comatose on the sofa. I CAN'T HELP IT! Grrrrrr.

Let's hope all our weeks improve very soon!

17+6

runnyhabbit · 30/10/2006 17:26

Evening all

Liking the new thread name! Boss was still in foul mood by the time I left the office, but have just been "slow dancing" with ds to Frank Sinatras greatest hits (very soppy emoticons here) He was humming in my ear at the same time, so my spirits have lifted through the roof.

runnyhabbit · 30/10/2006 17:41

at razor blades. Dh once decided to "eat" a scalpel blade fil left out when he was about 2 or 3. Luckily for him, there was no bloodshed. However can't say the same for fil when mil found out.
Have come to the conclusion that men do not think. But then again, they've never had to if they have wonderful women like us in their life

My little "bunny" hasn't so much been kicking, as doing full on somersaults. Honestly, its felt like my stomach has been doing belly flops. Not a dainty baby.

Bugmum · 30/10/2006 17:47

Well, it wasn't in the razor blade league, but I BIT DS today I asked if Mummy could have a bite of his apple...and then I missed my aim How's that for crap mummy alert? I blame PG hormones...

Katy44 · 30/10/2006 18:41

Hi everyone,
Sorry to hear everyone is having such an awful time of it, lets hope tomorrow the sun is out again!
1becomes3 I know twins are hard work...etc...etc but I have to admit I felt incredibly disappointed that I was told I was only having 1 baby - twins run in the family. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is I for one think it's FANTASTIC!
mammyjo, sorry to hear you're having such a rough time, I hope things are improving, please keep posting for support xxxx
pesha, I really hope your ms improves soon.

emmymummy · 30/10/2006 20:44

Oh my goodness, busy Monday or what?????

So sorry so many of you are having a shitty time right now. 1B3 I think twins are fantastic and I secretly wish dd was one of twins as she would always have a soul-mate and someone to play with. We had twins over here to play the other day and they were fab and didn't mind being bossed about by my dd. Their mum said it was because they're so used to being bossed about by each other that they quite happily take orders from other kids. They are also fantastically good at sharing as they've always had to. Yes it's going to be hard work at first, but you will reap the benefits later and everyone always coos over twins .

GGF - if my dh did that I would have to kill him. What a complete git. I hope he makes it up to you big style when he returns.

Mammyjo - I hate hate HATE it when people don't return things I've lent them. We have leant loads of baby stuff to my BIL & SIL, including a cot, steriliser, baby carrier, changing bag and God only knows what else. When we told them over the phone we'd be needing it all back it went deathly silent. Well tough doo-doo is all I can say, they'll have to buy their own new stuff (they deffo can afford it). What, do they think we're going to buy another new cot ffs?

Can't remember who mentionned the headaches - have had a killer one over the weekend, the kind where every movement made my head hurt. No fun when you can't take anything for it.

Have got my 20 week scan on 15th Dec (although I think I'll be 21 weeks by then). Will be asking to find out the flavour of the baby, as we just can't wait. Will also be easier on the shopping / decorating / name front, particularly as we can't think of any boy's names we really like (so it's bound to be a boy).

weeonion · 30/10/2006 20:55

hey folks - its a yukky wet night out there.

we r having our next scan on the 27th nov- seems an age away and will deffo be finding out the flavour but wont be telling anyone but ourselves! whilst i love surprises i want to know what we are getting!

hope everyone has a great week. i am feeling good tonight - cant believe another week has gone...
15 weeks 5

zazas · 30/10/2006 21:06

Hi All.....Sorry it has taken so long to read everything that I have forgotten all the things I wanted to comment on or offer my support tp!

However I too am still throwing up Not as much but still....at 17 weeks tomorrow I thought I would be finished! But I am more awake now which has improved life somewhat!

Definitely not right to not return lent baby things - I have some newborn things lent out at the moment although the baby in question is now 17 months...was met with a rather blank stare when I mentioned them and a mumble about 'oh yes'! On a positive note someone gave me a bag of maternity clothes today which was lovely.

The baby or 'Flapjack' as the kids have called it is well on the move - I adore those feelings well until they get too big and they kick you under the ribs - ouch.

Other than that...postive thoughts to all those who are suffering with DP's who are unreasonable etc. It is hard constantly pointing out what is so obvious to us that their behaviour is selfish! I find though that is what they need - it pointing out!

Whoa overstayed my sitting up time and need to get to that sofa. So night all.

CornflakeKid · 31/10/2006 08:37

Morning folks

Happy halloween - if you're into it! Pumpkins are carved, costumes ready - just need some sweets!

My boys love listening to the baby on the fetal listening thing - the one I bought isn't a doppler but a listening device that doesn't use ultrasound - but heartbeat is loud and clear! Very cute - ds2 keeps saying "I haven't listened to baby for ages" - secretly would like to leave it attached but being restrained and just earwig at bedtime.

Boys are dressed and fed and have done washing and hoovering - all by 8am! I must be feeling better.

I have decided we need a tumble drier - have chinese laundry effect at the moment which makes house smell!

My sister is giving me loads of baby stuff back - and have one of those baby shopping lists - don't actually need too much. Found two really great websites the otherday - babyangels and lulasapphire - really nice stuff!

Have a good day everyone xoxoxoxoxox

doghouse · 31/10/2006 09:14

Think I felt baby move last night .... bubbles and what felt like wind so it MUST be?! (Unless it actually was wind - how do you know?) Like to think it was baby anyway and it was LOVELY! Even DH managed to feel something which was nice!

Ooh, thanks for website info. CK - lovely!

18wks today!

runnyhabbit · 31/10/2006 09:32

Morning all

Well, I really hoped that today would be a better day (positive thinking and all that) but no!

Really, really pee'd off with dh. Had the absolute cheek to tell me that I'd have to see to ds this morning as he was running late. I see to ds nearly every morning anyway. Then, as he was walking out of the door, he reminded me that I needed to tax the car, without so much as a peck on the cheek.

Things not much better when I got into work. Boss acting like our argument yesterday didn't happen (its on the old thread and if anything, he's being too nice). I'm just getting on with my work (because I honestly feel like I could burst into tears at any time) Instead of him asking me if there's anything wrong, he's just said "you're very quiet this morning, must the hormones" I did manage to reply, "no, just men"

Please someone reassure me that I'm not being over sensitive, and that it is pregnancy hormones.

xx

runnyhabbit · 31/10/2006 09:34

And too top it all off, he's put the pay run in late!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please, someone remind me why I work

geordiemacminx · 31/10/2006 09:36

If its any help you can now tax your car on line.. its a fantastic service - dead easy to use, and you dont need your insurance certificate, just the reminder or your mot. Far easier than queueing at the post office during your lunch hour!!

runnyhabbit · 31/10/2006 09:41

thanks for that geordie, but the tax runs out today, so can I still do it?
