Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had six babies, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

So still BH but they are more spaces apart, so far nothing else has come out. Going to keep an eye on it though as I know she's engaged and her head might be plugging the hole lol.

I truly hope it's not waters and was just my plug or something else as it will really mess up our plans. Definitely something though as I felt pressure and then a big gush, I've felt big gushes of CM before and it didn't feel like that.

I shall let you know if anything else occurs this evening, but I am crossing my fingers it doesn't!

FiRaffe · 20/03/2015 18:22

Hope you're okay Sairie. Can't believe we're having more babies...There may not be any left for April at this rate!

Hope all are feeling better and can have a restful evening.

MoominMama22 · 20/03/2015 18:38

OK im behind as hospital didn't have WiFi! ( well it did actually have loads but they wouldn't give me the passwords, meanies)
BP was low enough during the night that they've decided against medicating. They did a growth scan as I was looking "small" Hmm baby exactly average, a bit extra fluid but within norm levels.
Massive braxton hicks which I had while hooked up so was great to actually see them and have all the midwives come round and look at the chart going oooh sure they don't hurt? No but I'm dreading the ones that do!!

Amazing and exciting boo!!!! I love that you've cleaned the house so now "ready". I keep cleaning but also saving a little list of tasks , I guess somehow in the belief that once its all done baby will come and if its not done I still have time.!?! My strange logic!!

Congrats on getting into the new house brixton! Sorry you're feeling ill.
daholster hope your DD has a better night tonight
siarie keep us posted. Have they kept you in Hosp?
200mile round trip sounds no fun we did it last weekend and I was so sore on the final stretch and really took time to recover. And after that " gush" should you be going anywhere!?!

OK so who's all had babies!? I need stat list! I'm convinced they are ALL going to appear before April.

daholster · 20/03/2015 19:22

misty had her little girl! Hooray :-)

daholster · 20/03/2015 19:23

Dd already sounds like a train Hmm so I doubt tonight will be much better but given that we have done a night like it and dh will be home hopefully I will worry less!!!

TheBooMonster · 20/03/2015 19:28

siarie thank goodness they've slowed down! what will happen with the car if things carry on, presumably you need you both to go down and get it if it's that far away?

moomin glad everything's looking ok!here is the list of people on the sheet who've had their babies:

Serious period pains going on here Shock will this baby even wait till tomorrow afternoon?!

OP posts:
FiRaffe · 20/03/2015 19:30

you know where we are daholster if you need to chat, but at least your dh will be home.

daholster · 20/03/2015 19:35

Oh, and great news moomin!

ToutDeLeFruit · 20/03/2015 19:38

Friends whilst feeding penguin - some DNS hood to me ;)

Gosh another baby!! She is super cute too.

Good luck for tomorrow boo, hope baby waits!

I'm still having my period aches but nothing too bad, had some loose bowels following my terrible gas which has at least stopped the gas! Haven't noticed anymore tummy tightening and no other symptoms so I'm not worrying, maybe she's just moving down a bit? She wasn't engaged at my 36 week appointment so maybe she's just starting a bit of that!

I've just eaten far too much ice cream :/

ToutDeLeFruit · 20/03/2015 19:39

'Sounds good to me' that was supposed to say!

daholster · 20/03/2015 19:40

Thanks Fi Smile

boo lie down quick!!!

Love how everyone seems to be having contractions today! Except me of course... Thinking about suggesting we try to move things along to dh... I doubt anything will, still pretty early and I'm being very impatient!!! Anyway not sure dtd will go with stressing about a wheezy daughter...!

TheBooMonster · 20/03/2015 19:52

daholster I am firmly on my arse on the sofa and not getting back up till bedtime! Hopefully your DD will have a better nights sleep tonight, even if she sounds raspy!

Wow Boo I can't believe how many have had babies already!
I know I'm not due until the 20th anyway, but I'm sure I'll be the last one on here! I bet I'll end up having an early May baby!

Does anyone know if you have to wait the whole 2 weeks over?! If so, it still could be around 6 weeks! ShockConfused

Think baby is loving all the food I've fed him today. Crumpet, yoghurt, slices of apple, a big jacket potato with chilli con carne for lunch, a box of 6 'miniature' cinnabons (like cinnamon swirls), snacks, and now I've just had an Indian ConfusedBlush we couldn't finish it though mind you. No wonder I feel a bit yuck now SadConfused

TheBooMonster · 20/03/2015 20:08

this is an interesting read www.bestdaily.co.uk/your-life/news/a636769/why-one-born-every-minute-is-making-birth-worse-for-women.html

rl I think it depends on your area, I think my lot start looking at inducing you 10 days over. I think there are 18 people behind you across this group and the miscarriage survival thread, so O doubt you'll be the last :P

Hi all, sounds like an eventful day for many on here... Will we make it thru the night without a baby popping out??!?

Had my scan today, seems I am baking another BIG baby... 36+1 today and they are guesstimating that she is nearly 8lbs already....what will she be at 39 weeks?!
So even though my ds was big and I didn't have gd, and I had the glucose test at 20 weeks, I have to do it again next week. Gag. Between drinking the gross sugar drink and then them struggling to get blood out... (Small veins like you siarie) I'm not excited about this at all since I really think it is pointless. But I digress, I'll go and do it just in case. I'm booked in now for an elcs at 39+1 weeks but they will bring it forward if bloods are abnormal.

Suppose no natter what, I can pack away the newborn size stuff, looks like we'll jump straight into 0-3 (again!)

Good luck boo!!

RL20 · 20/03/2015 20:31

Wow underwood! Big baby! Grin You're right to say guesstimate though, as that's what I've heard. Although isn't it the computer that automatically does it after weighing up the different measurements from baby on the scan? Obviously I've no idea how accurate it is though. All I know is I've had a guesstimate that baby is around 5lbs 8oz this week (well, on Tuesday), from the growth scan. The midwives have estimated he'll be around 7lbs when born, but in the mean time he could grow rapidly, or I could even go over, resulting in more time for him to grow. So who knows, really!
Would love to catch up with everyone afterwards though to see if our guesstimates matched up with the actual birth weight!

Thanks Boo that was an interesting read. I can understand it to a certain degree, although as this will be my first birth, I'll have to let you know afterwards! Wink I've never watched OBEM and don't plan to (mainly because I'm terribly squeamish), but I know that it's a marmite programme. I know some people are obsessed with it (some are mums, and some aren't), others like me haven't watched it, and the rest are people that would totally agree with that article!
It had reminded me though that I want to ask the midwife about the lighting etc. I have no idea if you can request a dim light or anything. I do like the sound of that

Boo, it was me what did the thing with the Google spreadsheet, after realising I'd mucked it up by ordering it by date and the header had got lost! To do it - go into view in the menu bar, then select freeze row/column, and it will give you an option about what to freeze.

Siarie, crikey, you've had an overexcitable day today... hope it's just turned out to be a lot of the usual discharge and nothing else!

daholster, I've not had any contractions today either, so you're not alone ;) I have had a very wriggly baby, though... and DH thinks that the bump might have moved down a bit, if not dropped properly, since Wednesday.

One more week of work to go and then it's onto maternity leave... can't really believe it. Still feels like there's so much to do!

cinnamongreyhound · 20/03/2015 21:24

YES TheBooMonster I think the same, I get so frustrated watching it! I don't know why they are always laying down :(

No idea about induction as I really didn't want it so I held out as long as possible without a fight, 13 days here.

37w+4!

kismac · 20/03/2015 21:29

Ooh, good article. I love watching One Born Every Minute but it does annoy me the amount of ladies who need interventions. Im quite shy but I intend on telling them to beat it if they pressure me into anything I don't want.

TheBooMonster · 20/03/2015 21:49

ah! score thanks annia

Oh don't get me wrong, I love OBEM, mostly I love shouting at the partners who are almost always useless.... but I'm sure they used to have the women moving round a lot more in the earlier seasons...

OP posts:
cinnamongreyhound · 20/03/2015 21:59

I think they did, there used to be three cases, on cs, one standard bed birth and one much more natural.

I'm feeling sad today about only being pregnant for 2 more weeks, probably fear about having a newborn again too but this is it. Absolutely no way I will persuade Dh to have another so this is it for me now :( 17-18days of being pregnant forever!

PenguinPoser · 20/03/2015 22:33

That's an interesting article on OBEM. I think that my view on delivery has been heavily influenced by my job and previously working on a delivery suite where I was only really involved in assisted delivery and cs so to me that is more 'normal' although clearly it is not. I went into labour fully expecting to give birth on my back on bed. Food for thought.

Still bit worried about this feeding malarkey. Don't feel I'm getting enough feeds in for dd. But it's there when she wants it and she's weed x4 and pooed x2 today so does that mean she's getting enough? Any experiences welcome. I know all babies are different but she's so small it does worry me.

FiRaffe · 20/03/2015 22:51

Penguin -I think it's on the nct website but there is definitely a page on what to expect in their nappies each day for the first few months. Worth finding - i'm on my phone but if you want me to dig it tomorrow let me know

Also, forgot to say earlier but our Next seems to be having a 3 day sale from tomorrow so if anyone is after clothes it might be worth checking their website in the morning!

daholster · 20/03/2015 23:07

penguin I thought it was 7-10 wet or dirty nappies a day, by midnight I imagine she will have achieved that Grin When is she being weighed again? Feeding on demand definitely worked much better for us than the "you must stick her on the boob every two hours" thing. The important bit is that she stays on to get the fatty hind milk and doesn't give up just having had the watery stuff. When I was trying every 2 hours this was happening but when I switched to feeding on demand only (about every 3 hours) she stopped doing this and stayed longer. I also learned to recognise those fluttery sucks that come when you think they are about to give up but it's like they are tickling your nipple... And that's when they are stimulating the breast for the hind milk, the good stuff Grin and they just spend another couple of minutes then getting the cream (then falling asleep and waking and doing it a bit more for what seems like forever!!!) I'm sure you are doing great.

Dd has only just gone to sleep.

I fell over trying to get up from the floor carrying her, landed on the handheld vac, ouch!!! Idiot Hmm Nearly wet myself when I landed Blush but didn't thank goodness! Dd was ok too, managed to push her to one side as I fell and set her on her feet! Most clever. It's just my bruised bum and ribs!
