Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had six babies, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

OP posts:

Place marking

BrixtonBunny · 18/03/2015 21:50

Marking my place!

londonlivvy · 18/03/2015 23:11

hi everyone.

first night at someone else's pregnancy yoga class (ie as a student) and it was fab. v relaxing.

hoping I sleep better than last night. indeed wishing all of us relaxing nights.

PenguinPoser · 19/03/2015 02:42

Posted on other thread but marking place

RL20 · 19/03/2015 06:02

No idea why I'm awake at this time. Baby has hiccups too which always makes it a little harder to get back to sleep!

Underwood like the ladies on here know, I had boiler troubles 2 weeks ago and were currently going through the complaint system. And it seems as though being pregnant and my partner having his daughter at weekends doesn't speed up things like you would have thought!
We were without heating and hot water for 7 days, and the flat was absolutely upside down.
It was apparently to do with the pipes and some are under the floor so we were told they were going to have to 'dig' the floor up as it was mainly concrete. Then there was talks of asbestos being under there. (Basically the flat below us had a leak and they didn't know where it was coming from).
All in all the assessors that came out every day were useless and it didn't need to take that long, especially when someone on the last day of the work, announced that it had been nothing to do with the heating, and actually didn't need to be turned off in the first place! Angry
They had provided us with 2 small electric fan heaters, which I'm sure use up more electric than they're worth!
Hope you get sorted soon

Morning all, just had a mammoth catch up. Sorry for everyone who is struggling, but there is an end in sight. I'm laid here with 5 day old DS having early morning cuddles after a feed, and it's wonderful Grin

penguin and chicken try not to get too stressed about feeding. I know it's different for me as I went into natural labour and was technically term, but we really struggled with feeding and we are not 100% there yet. We ended up bottle feeding so DS wasn't dehydrated.
My milk didn't come in until nearly 5 days, and we still struggled until the midwife recommended nipple shields. The difference straight away was amazing. It's hard, I spent most of days 3 +4 in tears, but just keep going Flowers

skyra13 · 19/03/2015 07:43

Morning all wow thread 14 Shock

DH actually left me in bed bought me tea in bed and left for work very shocking for me as he wakes me up to do his lunch, but I did pack it last night! The dog is making it hard to get to the tea he has taken DH space in bed lol

Not posted for a while but I have on FB blood pressure is rising slowly with being end of pregnancy so I won't be able to use birth centre, and may have to go on meds if it does not go down seeing midwife today to see what its like today Sad on the bright side consultant does bot want to see me unless it goes high happy for midwife to look after me.

RE Breast feeding I was told from 37 weeks to massage boobs to help stimulate milk to come in every free days I do get something from them.

Congrats on all the new babies FlowersStar

Place marked Smile

FiRaffe · 19/03/2015 07:53

Good luck with your appointment skyra.

I gave up and called in sick. I don't exactly have anything to do at work and I was starting to leave stuff for the new lady starting Monday from today so better that I sleep I think. Only 2 weeks left at work today anyway!

RiverRocks · 19/03/2015 07:57

I think you're doing the right thing, *FiRaffe, you've got to concentrate on you now.

Good luck with your appointment skyra

skyra13 · 19/03/2015 07:58

Thanks FI sometimes a sick day is needed! Take it easy.

Wanted to ask does everyone have everything they need? Or do they still have things to buy? X

FiRaffe · 19/03/2015 08:14

We have still got to buy the cot but going to arrange delivery once i'm on mat leave. Would like to get a wardrobe too but again no major rush.
Need to buy the consumables like maternity and breast pads, food etc.
oh god there is loads!!!

skyra13 · 19/03/2015 08:19

I got my sheets yesterday for crib an Moses basket, only thing really left to get is nappy bins, waiting for monitor of BIL hr texted my husband other day to say he got us a video one as he knows my husband likes gadgets lol

And think that's it left not sure if I need anything els!

Wineandchoccy · 19/03/2015 08:25

Wow another thread already thanks Boo

Firaffe I hope you manage to get some rest today

Skyra the only thing I have left to buy is the changing bag to match the pram but I was telling somebody at work about it and they were asking to many questions to just be interested so I have a feeling they might have bought it. I have the free boots one to use until I either buy it or receive it as a present. Everything else is bought and built so baby will probably keep us waiting until 2 weeks overdue.

FiRaffe · 19/03/2015 08:39

I'm like you Wine- I know work are getting something but no idea what, so holding off on a load of little bits like a gro-egg until I leave.

skyra13 · 19/03/2015 08:39

That would be nice if they got you the changing bag! Smile
I really want a pink lining yummy mummy bag DH said when they on sale I can have one Grin

Floppypotato · 19/03/2015 08:46

Got everything now... Just need a baby next!! 37 + 3!

Nunkie · 19/03/2015 08:49

Morning All!

Virtual hugs to all those with sore boobs from the latch attempts. (Envious of your cuddles with your babies tho - you've made it! You're on the other side! Smile Hmm, def sounds like it's nearly time to stock up on the cabbage leaves!!

I hadn't heard that about boob massage helping to bring in the milk skyra (tho, according to my sciencey book, out of all the spicy food/sex/raspberry leaf tea advice, boob massage is the only one that shows some hard scientific evidence for bringing on labour - so watch out ;0) Tho, in all seriousness, you have to do it for a ridonkulous amount of time for it to have any effect at all :0)

Re buying stuff - just put in a last order yesterday for some sleeping bags, cellular blankets - and that Caboo close NCT sling now they have it back in stock at Argos for a discount.

For the breast pump, we're leaving that for now and seeing how the feeding goes (let's suck it and see, so to speak - hahahah).. and nappies is the other thing - we want to use the local Nappy Library to try some reuseables but have to wait til Peanut is out before we can borrow them (I guess they understandably don't just want parents-to-be stockpiling them for weeks). We have some disposables for the meantime anyhow, and I think DP will be solid about getting these things ordered as soon as needed.
Oh, and we're still deciding re baby bath/washing-up bowl :0)

As a couple who went into this vowing not to buy a lot of necessary crap, we do seem to have accumulated a lot of stuff, tho I think we have been quite restrained on the whole.

Thanks for the new thread Boo (chuckling at 'fanny-daggers'!)

FiRaffe · 19/03/2015 08:50

Hehe Skyra! Keep an eye out for Easter sales then.

Floppypotato - not too long to wait hopefully for you!

skyra13 · 19/03/2015 09:11

Nunkie At my NHS parent ed class/antenatal class what ever you want to call it lol she said from 37 weeks make a C shape with thumb and finger and massage from the nipple up just a few minutes couple times a day seems to of helped me but then again I have managed to squeeze stuff out from 35 weeks just due to cleaning an old nipple piercing then the other boob started!

I shall defo be keeping an eye out for the Easter sales I have never in my life wanted a bag so much lol!

IvegotaCaveTroll · 19/03/2015 09:30

But sad this morning. My sister has left her husband. Together 6 yrs married just over one- luckily no kids yet. They had planned on starting TTC this year.
I think she fell out of love I suppose. Sad though.
I'm seeing her this weekend at my baby shower- I always feel bad being happy when someone's sad Sad

Lauren82000 · 19/03/2015 09:43

Oh dear Ivegotacavetroll Better to be out of a relationship that doesn't make you happy than to be stuck in one that makes you sad.

DH nearly made me cry this morning we were talking about a party some of his family are planning to throw for his dad in May and it moved on to him saying 'You do know your going to be late again.' Put me in a right mood. I told him to start telling this baby it needs to get out now so it might just listen to us before then. I couldn't cope with potentially another 7 weeks. It'll be a 10lb monster and I'm not a big girl at all. It'll never fit! He also said well you won't be going to the party anyway. Which was nice of him Angry

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 19/03/2015 09:46

loving the thread title... though this mammy isn't keen on waiting until april any more either!

IvegotaCaveTroll sorry to hear that.

cinnamongreyhound · 19/03/2015 09:49

That's sad IveGotACaveTroll, always difficult to see a relationship end no matter what the reason. If your sister fell out of love, hopefully she won't be too sad about it and see it as a fresh start.

No kids 9-3 today, just waiting for my stepdad to bring the car and ds2 and I are off out for a mummy son day Grin after watching the programme last night think we'll be having KFC for lunch Blush got a couple of little jobs but the rest of the day is whatever he wants. Beef stew in the slow cooker already do just need to boil some potatoes when we get back from gymnastics tonight. Minded children who are often late are going to be late as their mum has a training course today that doesn't finish until 5 and its 50 miles away, had them since 6.50 until school drop. They've got cereal for their tea Confused
