Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had six babies, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

Siarie put a maternity pad in your underwear so that you'll know if anything comes out and you can have a look at it (as delightful as that sounds)

Good luck on the 100mile round trip tomorrow!!!

TheBooMonster · 20/03/2015 15:29

oh yikes siarie hopefully it was just excessive discharge! A few of the girls in one of my April groups have gone to the hospital thinking their waters were leaking to find they just had lots and lots of discharge Shock

I have decided to fuck the cleaning and tidying of downstairs, I'll do it tomorrow morning to keep me distracted, DH and I made breastmilk boosting flapjacks and cookies this afternoon instead. Though DH has developed a bit of a taste for the flapjacks!

Thanks for the advice ladies. Daholster the idea of early labour just terrified me, though also relieved to hear it can go on for weeks for some people. I still have it, it went for a couple of hours during the day but is now back. I also have shocking wind!! Sorry if TMI, my guts must be a little off. No diarrhoea or anything, just the constant gas :/

Siarie sounds like you are having quite a day of it! Hope all comes back well with the tests, and yes try putting a pad in still in case anymore comes out.

ToutDeLeFruit · 20/03/2015 15:41

RL20 my name here is inspired by a friends episode, when Joey tries to learn French with Phoebe and he just comes out with this random line. Friends is always on in our house, it's our background noise of choice ;)

Hidingthefear · 20/03/2015 15:55

haha tout I love friends too! it's sad that I know the episode you mean lol. We've started watching the box set from the beginning again as all our othere series' we were watching hadn't started.
It's so rubbish watchin walking dead every week rather than watching them all in one go. Can't wait for game of thrones to come back on!!

cinnamongreyhound · 20/03/2015 16:01

Get an underwired one BrixtonBunny I had underwire with both of mine, I've linked to it before but can do again.

Soooooo glad it's friday, 1.5hrs until I get my house and boys to myself for a bit. Hope Dh leaves on time :)

Siarie · 20/03/2015 16:19

Hiding and Boo I hope so too, although I'm now getting BH's under five mins apart from each other. Oh Joy!

Tout Friends is amazing, me and DH used to watch the repeats until they stopped them on TV a while back. It was what we watched while we ate dinner :)

siarie Shock Shock Shock Pad in!!!

I have done precisely sod all this afternoon. Except sleep!!!! I had a lot to do too Hmm Hope dd napped at nursery.

Dh has just got on the plane home Grin

Baby can come now!

36+3

RL20 · 20/03/2015 16:26

Tout omg I know what you mean ha ha! It's always on at my mums house. It's on Comedy Central all day long so it's also her 'background noise of choice' too! We actually said the other day I wonder if there's any we actually haven't seen, lol.

Siarie hope everything is going ok! I agree, a pad is probably the way forward from now on! How long have the BH been going on for now though...?

Wine another grump here today, just so you know you're not the only one. Have no idea what to do with myself, mainly because I still don't know what the other half will be doing after work. I know I shouldn't revolve my life around him but when you're 35 weeks pregnant there's not much else I can do? Hmm

No luck on the jacket front today. Just another reason to feel grumpy! Had no idea what sort of jacket I wanted, didn't want to spend lots of money on one, etc etc etc

brummagem · 20/03/2015 16:32

Daholster re asthma. Paula Radcliffe has asthma. She runs marathons and was/is world record holder. The singer Pink also has asthma she took up singing to help with her lung capacity. I'm asthmatic and find Moisture air things are good rather than dry things so maybe a bowl of water in the room to make sure air is not too dry as that can make it worse esp if the central heating is still on. Also more pillows to prop up so not lying flat. Everyone's asthma is different though. If it's managed properly it shouldn't affect things too badly.

ToutDeLeFruit · 20/03/2015 16:35

Ah you can never never have too much Friends in your life ?? it's always on Comedy Central which we have so we tend to have it playing on a loop in the background if we aren't really watching tv or anything. Think I'd watched that episode the day I joined up and I was still chuckling in my head at his French - yes, I still laugh at them like its the first time I've seen it It!

Ooh Ive watched game of thrones whilst pregnant and loved it, I'm now working my way through the Walking Dead and enjoying that too, I'm on season 3 nearing the end now, don't know what I will watch when it's finished :(

TheBooMonster · 20/03/2015 16:38

gasps siarie blimey! at this rate you'll be the next to have a baby Shock

Wineandchoccy · 20/03/2015 16:48

Siarie are you sure they are just braxton hicks!!

Well I feel a bit better I found some toffee popcorn in the cupboard so scoffed that and now I'm dunking chocolate digestives in a cup of tea, comfort food always lifts my mood. I think I need to get out of the house I've been staring at my laptop all day so I've got cabin fever.

Tout so do I! It's hard to not laugh at Friends, how ever many times you've watched it!
I watched one of the older ones the other week where Ross and Rachel are in the Laundrette room and Rachel is arguing with that short woman. I knew it was coming but I had to laugh out loud when Ross turns around and bangs his face on the front of the open washing machine! It just looks so real Grin

RiverRocks · 20/03/2015 16:50

I had a couple of times where it was just a lot of discharge, siarie but when my waters went, I knew. It was like having a wee, but I knew I hadn't started weeing yet if you get what I mean. Then it got much heavier and no denying. Put a pad/liner in and if it's clear or slightly pinky tinged (nothing to worry about) it's waters. If it's yellowy it'll be discharge. Any other colour, call the midwife!
Are the BH painful? My contractions were like a stronger version of my normal period pains.

cinnamongreyhound · 20/03/2015 16:58

Perhaps tonight will give you a better idea of whether you should do the 100 mile trip Sairie. I have no experience of gushing I'm afraid, except while significant into labour and I definitely knew when my waters went, big pop feeling and got very wet and warm very quickly!

smogsville · 20/03/2015 17:08

I've been persuaded by the sunshine to buy these new salted caramel choc covered ice cream things from waitrose. Basically an own brand magnum. Yum.

Sorry that people aren't feeling well in lots of different ways.

Brixton hope the bras fit. Mine are quite big too but I quite like non wired for the comfort!

Siarie - what Boo said. Keep your notes and hosp bag close at hand. And perhaps reconsider the car journey tomorrow.

PenguinPoser · 20/03/2015 17:08

Siarie Shock get the pad on and ring the hospital back if you're at all concerned.

In my case with the cholestasis - once bloods were back they got me back the next day to see the on call doctor who arranged medication and a growth scan and explained the condition. Then 2 days later I had scan and saw consultant who was worried as bloods were so high (bile acids over 40).
Plan was weekly bloods and fortnightly scans (I was 32w) and "try and get to 37w"

Next 3 weeks bile acids improved to the mid 20s and scans ok. Then at 36+ my bile acids rose to 60 so I had membrane sweep immediately and induced the next day (which was the plan anyway).

Hope your bloods are ok though and that you're feeling better!

tout I live friends too watching it now on Comedy Central while feeding dd. Might have time for a shower later... Been trying since 9 am!

daholster · 20/03/2015 17:16

Aah yes penguin now you are settling into the life of being a proper mum - showers atstupid times sounds about right!!!

TheBooMonster · 20/03/2015 18:04

siarie it's been almost two hours, what is your fanjo doing? do you still have BH? is there a baby?!

OP posts:
smogsville · 20/03/2015 18:18

daholster I think being a new mum is probably sometimes going from one day to the next without having a shower at all Blush

Hidingthefear · 20/03/2015 18:19

Haha boo that made me laugh, "what's your fanjo doing" lol
my dad's moved house today so DH has been of work helping,I've arrived and now their off to find food, Donna kebab me thinks. Good job I've got gaviscon on hand for desert :)
Watching we were soilder but can't find dad's remote to turn the volume up so straining my ears to try and hear what's big said lol.
