Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had six babies, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

Not had chance for a full catch up, a whole new thread since I last checked in, but will mark my place. once i'm on Mat leave next Thursday I should be able to keep up.

Just wanted to say thanks to brixton on the pool recomendation (i think I was you). Ordered it from that water baby site and it's coming next week. they were really helpful and it seems very straight forward.

Also thanks to whoever it was advising about iron, doctor has changed my prescription from the strong ferrous Fumerate tablets to a slow release tablet that I take once a day, and so far i've not thrown up so hopefully these will work. Sadly boots didn't have the full prescription and i've been given an owing slip, but if they work doctor will prescribe me more (although not sure when they will check my bloods again). Hopefully once i've got going on these i should feel less lightheaded and worn out.

latest annoyance is I've got an "invisible" rash right at the top of my bump. It's itchy and burny but you can't see anything. keep rubbing germaline and stuff in to stop it hurting, just hope it goes soon whatever it is.

Hidingthefear · 20/03/2015 11:42

Oh, and i've joined the "fanny daggers" club.
they were just annoying before but yesterday I actually had one that stopped me in my tracks. I think DH thought i was going into labour when I stopped and screwed my face up. he was none the wiser when I said it was just a fanny dagger. lol he figured it must be a mumsnet related term haha

RL20 · 20/03/2015 11:47

FiRaffe glad I'm not the only one Grin. Today I'm going to wear a vest top with a shirt over the top. I got it in the sale from River Island a few weeks ago but haven't worn it yet. It's a button up silk-feel shirt designed to look sort of over-sized, so what did I do? I got it in a size 10. Wtf was I thinking?! I was barely a 10 pre-pregnancy, probably more a 12 up top, but it just looked so big that I thought it would be ok. Well, I'm having to wear it with the buttons undone and it's so tight around the tops of my arms Blush but I'm determined to make it work, as I bought it in the sale I can't take it back! Although it will be an incentive to tone up my arms when baby is here I suppose!...

Banana glad you have reminded me about Amazon for a mattress, my other half loves Amazon so maybe we'll do the same.
Are you having any pre-labour type symptoms yet? Just curious as we share an EDD. You know things like BH etc.

BananaToast · 20/03/2015 12:06

RL not really. I've been having the odd BH for ages now (since about 25 weeks?) but don't get full on sets of them or anything. Have had a few fanny daggers which hopefully is baby just settling into position, but otherwise all seems fairly calm here! Don't think baby will be going anywhere for a while yet.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 20/03/2015 12:24

do we have an ELC date chart?

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 20/03/2015 12:28

sorry.. I had a brain fart! Elective Caesarian Section date chart, not an Early Learning Centre one!

Siarie · 20/03/2015 13:02

Soo the FMU went interestingly, started ok and then I was hooked up to a monitor to check the babies HB and contractions. I ended up having to turn sideways as I felt faint (normal if I'm on my back due to my BP). That was fine but then came the blood tests.

The lady did one pot but my vein stopped again, then I said I was feeling faint and sick. Turned further to my left and she ran off for some sickness kidney shaped things. Threw up into two of them! My urine came back dehydrated but I explained I don't understand because I've been drinking and the amount of water that came out my stomach you can tell that.

So she tried my other arm but couldn't get any blood. So now I'm in a pub nearby waiting for my order to arrive. I have to go back in after and they will try again, if that doesn't work then I'll need some fluids. Boo!

TheBooMonster · 20/03/2015 13:14

ebwy the stats spreasheet in the Opening Post should have a column for sections and inductions.

Well done for going Siarie. Don't know anything about what any of that might mean but you're in the right place. Good luck.

TheBooMonster · 20/03/2015 13:15

omg who managed to make the bit along the top of the spreadsheet that doesn't move and how? I fought with it for ages and then gave up... Blush

smogsville · 20/03/2015 13:16

Oh and sorry you were sick, obviously. Do you feel better now?

kismac · 20/03/2015 13:19

Congrats on your date Gherkin and hope everything goes well Moomin and eek very exciting Boo!

I went for a wander at 8:30am this morning to watch the eclipse but couldn’t find a good spot, plus I was wearing my pjs, so looked like a crazy person. Ended up just watching it on telly instead and watching the brightness/darkness from the window.

Glad you’re in the new house Brixton and I hope it all comes together quickly.

Aww. Cinnamon I hope your DH gets his work situation sorted out. He should be winding down not getting more stress landed on him.

Siarie, I hope everything is ok and they don’t need to keep you too long.

I’ve just made sausage casserole and was feeling very productive until I threw up all over the bathroom. Ah well, wee rest and hopefully the motivation will still be there.

Fanny daggers is a great term, they do properly make me squeal. Its horrible.

cinnamongreyhound · 20/03/2015 13:22

That sucks Sairie, enjoy your lunch. I don't feel well after a couple of mins on my back either, my last bp was 110/70 so not really low.

cinnamongreyhound · 20/03/2015 13:24

Hope it's a one off kismac! DH seems more positive in the text he sent me so hopefully his 6 pages of notes have explained what he can and can't do!

skyra13 · 20/03/2015 13:29

DEAR LORD I FINALLY HAVE BRAS!!! that is all I have to say Grin

Hidingthefear · 20/03/2015 13:56

skyra i'm jealous, I need bra's!

we watched it stood outside the office kismac pretty cloudy in Manchester unfortunately but we got the jist. I was 9 last time so don't really remember it. roll on 2026, and hope it's a sunny day!

daholster · 20/03/2015 13:57

tout I think that sounds more like very very early labour, or "pre labour". BHs shouldn't really be painful, just make you feel a bit odd with a tightening bump. Pre labour can be painful, contractions usually start low actually not high at all, and can go into your back. It can start and stop for weeks while it tries to settle baby into a good position. I had it noticeably a couple of days before I had dd, then they didn't stop and just got worse. But like I said some people have them on and off for weeks! If they get worse and longer and don't stop like Lauren said then you will know it's what I will term "proper labour"!

Dd went to nursery still a bit wheezy with her horrid cough grinning like a happy little girl, along with three new medication sheets for her salbutamol inhaler, her Atrovent inhaler and her montelukast tablets! She was struggling a little bit this morning with a bit of a "grunt" but no puffing and was electing to run about... I asked nursery to bring her in from outside if she was getting worse from running, pollen and possible smog and just ring if they were worried. They haven't called yet... I've requested extra inhalers so she can keep one at nursery. I don't want her to be labelled as an "allergic" or "asthmatic" child but I would much rather she was comfy and well (not that the salbutamol seems to do a lot anyway - apparently not uncommon in toddlers). Anyhoo...

Spent more money at the shop on clothes for dd. They didn't have a vaporiser but I got a calpol plug in to try at least (though she isn't bunged up I thought maybe it still might help?) I will have to order a vaporiser online I think.

Lots of walking about at the shop, uncomfortable but nothing exciting.

Lauren82000 · 20/03/2015 14:07

Boo its to do with Freezing rows, in one of the options at the top like view.

Wineandchoccy · 20/03/2015 14:34

I feel really grumpy today and like I could have a real good row with somebody, poor DH when he gets home Grin I've just been to the chemist to pick up another prescription for iron tablets and the queue was massive and I could feel myself getting ratty I'm normally very chilled out.

I'm going bra shopping tomorrow so I hope it's a successful shopping trip.

BrixtonBunny · 20/03/2015 14:54

Bleugh, I'm still really poorly, I actually think I'm getting sicker - cold seems to have moved down into my chest, and I'm absolutely wiped. Have spent the day in bed despite there being SO much to do - feeling guilty but I just can't see a way around it. Such terrible timing - I've been unwell since Monday and I really thought I'd have shaken it off by now Confused

The sun is out in full force in South London, it's making me really want an ice lolly. And curtains in our bedroom... Hmm

BrixtonBunny · 20/03/2015 14:56

Oh god. I need to buy bras too. Dreading it as have literally no idea how I'm going to find something that fits - currently wearing an unspeakably high cup size as it is Shock Might try and order some online - any tips?

cinnamongreyhound · 20/03/2015 14:58

It's really sunny here too now BrixtonBunny, your immune system isn't great when pregnant give your body the rest it needs!

Siarie · 20/03/2015 14:59

The lady managed to get body from my hand in the end, interestingly my BP was much better after the food. Although I had breakfast this morning so no idea why. Apparently my veins are really tiny, which is weird because it's not normally a problem but I have had it a few times since pregnant.

Now I just have to wait for the results tomorrow, hopefully it will just be random itching but I don't understand why it's so bad if it's normal. While I was waiting I was watching all the other pregnant ladies and they don't have to itch their skin every minute or worse.

Penguin what happens if it comes back as OC?

BrixtonBunny · 20/03/2015 15:04

Siarie fingers crossed for clear bloods tomorrow - I have heard it's fairly common for pregnant ladies to have unbearable itching that isn't UC. It sounds horrifically unpleasant regardless, hope you're ok.

I've just panic bought this bra in a couple of sizes - thoughts? www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk/royce-charlotte-black-spot-mesh-nursing-bra-style-822~201

I'm basically dreading wearing a non-underwired bra as my boobs are huge and I need the support!

Siarie · 20/03/2015 15:13

Crap crap something just gushed out of me but I don't know what. I was on the toilet as I needed to go really badly when I got in and I'm sure something gushed out. It shocked me, I though the baby might have dropped out which is comical but it did feel like something came out of that area.

But now I don't know, maybe I imagined it. Grr why did it have to happen there, if I had underwear I could tell if it was wet or CM if you know what I mean.

We're picking up the car tomorrow 100 miles away, it better not have been fluid!
