Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had six babies, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

Haha, I'm right here ladies, don't you worry Wink I've been reading along, but my day has been very uneventful today - napping, a long bath and lots of snacking. We have a busy day tomorrow visiting DPs grandma who's in a care home, then lunch with DPIL and SIL and then have a few house-related errands to do, so making to most of a (very) lazy day!

Squatting that's brilliant news! I'm so happy for you. Fx your little one decides she's happy there and doesn't wriggle back.

Misty glad you're doing ok, sorry you're so knackered but hope you're thoroughly enjoying your new addition.

So many babies...

38+2

BrixtonBunny · 27/03/2015 16:42

Squidge hurrah!! That's great that you'll be in next week! You must be so relieved - I know that as soon as we had moved in and unpacked the main things I relaxed so much more.

Which reminds me, we should probably build the snuzpod and assemble the pram now - no excuse for them to still be in their boxes... Confused

PenguinPoser · 27/03/2015 16:51

Thanks so much everyone for the advice and support. Midwife helped a bit with the latch today. Also got a call from community nursery nurse who is going to come see me on Monday re feeding. I have a local sure start centre where there is bf support on a Wednesday morning so going to go there, also joined my local LLL Facebook group.

DD has put on 60g. She's day 13 and still 110g off birthweight Confused but mw wasn't concerned as she's gaining. I still feel a bit anxious about it. HV will weigh her on Tuesday.

Squatting pleased baby is head down!

Boo fab news about your dd weight you're doing a great job.

Squidge yey on the move!

Hope you're ok Siarie!

Need to nap....

roastpots · 27/03/2015 16:51

cavetroll it's difficult to describe a contraction and since my DD was back to back all the pain that I felt was in my back so I think that's not very typical. But.... I think the most characteristic thing about a contraction is the pattern of them. They have a very definite beginning and end. Once one starts, it builds up and up and up to a crescendo and then dies back down again. I think it's fairly unmistakable once you feel it. Before they start, it's fairly normal to have a whole range of weird tightenings, aches, pains, prods and cramps. I've been having these for the last few days which makes me feel like things might not be ages away but I know this bit can last a while so I'm trying to ignore it. I'm sorry that you've been in so much pain though - it sounds like a good idea not to go to the wedding. Have you tried having a bath?

BrixtonBunny · 27/03/2015 16:53

Siarie sorry you feel so bad Sad I have a similar feeling when I walk, it's not very fun! Still, I'm assuming it's because baby is engaged and it's their head causing pressure and discomfort. Can't stop weeing either! Maybe you're in for an early baby Wink

BrixtonBunny · 27/03/2015 16:54

Penguin that's fantastic re: weight gain! Well done!

RL20 · 27/03/2015 17:09

Cavetroll glad to hear that you're not going to be going to the wedding, hope you feel better soon!

Oh dear Siarie hope you start to feel better soon too.

I really want my midwife appointment next Wednesday to hurry up! I had appointments and growth scan for 2/3 for weeks in a row so they've missed out my 36 week app this week as I saw them last week.
I feel like I'm getting more movements quite low down and sometimes light pressure on my bum?! Not painful though.
I feel like the next appointment will be a milestone one... will be 'term', will hopefully know if he's still head down/engaged etc, and will see if my bump has grown seeing as last week I was 2cm behind as opposed to the week before being 4cm behind!
The time is flying by and I still haven't practiced properly taking the pushchair up and down etc, taking the car seat in and out of my car...and I'm a complete baby novice! Shock

BrixtonBunny · 27/03/2015 17:17

RL you've reminded me, that's another thing we need to do this weekend - put the Isofix base in the car and pop the car seat in! We also need to buy a sunscreen for the back window and put the "baby on board" sign up...

roastpots · 27/03/2015 17:25

Thinking of cars and carseats etc... one thing that is really useful with a little baby is a mirror for the car. You can attached it to the back seat beside the carseat and then when you're driving you can see what the baby is doing in your rearview mirror. They don't cost much but are so handy!

skyra13 · 27/03/2015 17:28

Waves Hi ladies so sorry not read back but congrats to all new babys that have arrived!!

Contractions I had mine for the first time yesterday and seems I may of been getting them on and off for days for me my Bump goes really hard at the front and above the belly button sometimes I get a pain that is kind on dull aching pain the radiates down into the tops of my legs, does not seem to effect my back.

I finally got sent home at around 2 today! YAY baby is still in place and bp has been all over the place ranging from in the 70s to 100s for for bottom number.
Consultant advised to have a sweep, as he thinks would be better for me and get things moving along. So had my first sweep got to say was very uncomfortable but she did manage it in the end and I am 1 cm so things are slowly happening. Not had any bleeding or show since though If nothing happens over the weekend I am booked to have Bp check again Monday and anther sweep!

I had contractions and bump tighnings for the first time yesterday throughout my stay in hospital about every 4 hours but since being home nothing lol

Pooe DH ended up sleeping on a cold floor bless him partners can stay but nothing to sleep on! I have advised him to grab a sleeping bag and roll mat and keep It in the car just in case! :)

PenguinPoser · 27/03/2015 17:50

Meant to say also congratulations to fingerscrossed!

ChickenMe · 27/03/2015 18:50

cave my DD was back to back but in any case the contractions were like period pains in my bum.

ChickenMe · 27/03/2015 18:56

Talking about OHs and sleeping I actually would really recommend getting a sleeping bag and roll mat. We were in antenatal for two nights and it would've helped.
Another thing I've been thinking of is when my milk came in (day 3) my boobs were in agony. The only tops I could wear were those soft cotton nighties or I wrapped soft pashminas round my boobs. Might be worth packing s/t soft in case u stay in like us. Smile

ChickenMe · 27/03/2015 19:01

Penguin sounds like things are headed in the right direction. Omg isn't bf Sooo tiring? I'm struggling to eat and drink enough.

AnniaFausta · 27/03/2015 19:03

Just caught up a dozen pages, so tea for everyone who's tired, and congrats Fingers!

On train home. Last day at work finished - maternity leavebstarts on Monday!

smogsville · 27/03/2015 19:13

Random question to those of us who are still preggers.

Does anyone get what feels like a spot of indigestion in the evenings? I've noticed it seems to come on between 6-7 for last week.

Weird as I generally haven't had anything to eat for a fair few hours at this time, save for a few walnuts and a cup of tea at 5ish when DD eating.

Lauren82000 · 27/03/2015 19:16

Skyra not even an uncomfortable chair? That's terrible. Your poor DH.

skyra13 · 27/03/2015 19:24

Lauren he has an uncomfortable chair but ended up sleeping on a towel on the floor, the chair was so up right was making his neck sore.

Smog My indigestion is like clock work every evening only thing that helps me is peptac before I go to sleep!

Chicken I really agree with the sleeping bag and roll mat we started camping a few years ago so gonna dig one out :)

daholster · 27/03/2015 20:05

I got breakfast in bed Smile And a shout at dh who suggested I am uncomfortable because I am pregnant and why should I get him delivered early... Er, lead balloon! Angry I shouted and swore and cried and he reached out his hand and said he deserved that... I don't think he really realised either that sometimes its my gut stuff that is getting super sore, unless I'm obstructed when he does but at the moment I am not.

We looked at 4 cars. Test drove 3. One left to do tomorrow then decision time. All quite exhausting... Despite just mainly sitting in cars all day!!!

Sounds like she has fully engaged siarie, I hope this means she is here soon for you, and its not that she will just sit there for a few weeks!!! Shock

PenguinPoser · 27/03/2015 20:06

Yes Chicken me too. I'm relying on others to feed me! Keep getting hungry in the night too. Been trying to catch up on some sleep this afternoon I think I need a couple of days to simply feed eat and sleep. Feel a small achievement today is I've worn my nursing bra rather than essentially being topless all day!

Annia yey for maternity leave!

Smogs I had evening heartburn last few weeks of preg had to take chewy gaviscon tablet before bed or I'd be awake with it. It might be as you haven't eaten much at that time that there's nothing but acid in your stomach iyswim? I think eating little and often might help.

daholster · 27/03/2015 20:07

Hooday annia!!! Hope you have a lovely relaxing evening in store to kick off your leave as you should go on!

ChickenMe · 27/03/2015 20:16

Lol I can't even look at my bra as my boobs are still so sore Penguin. Have had boobs out permanently and am past caring!!! You go thru so much indignity and pain with pregnancy and birth it makes you think sod it. I think the post man saw my boob earlierHmm

Lauren82000 · 27/03/2015 20:26

It's true you lose your inhibitions. DH is always complaining I'm flashing the neighbours if the blinds are open. Hmm I just tell him it's pretty hard to get a good view through leaded windows and vertical blinds unless they have binoculars and are spying on us. Grin

Even just water can set off my heartburn if baby is in the right position for it. Drives me crackers but doesn't happen often thank god.

TinyTear · 27/03/2015 20:32

I do get a spot of indigestion but one boots indigestion tablet is usually enough.

For DH last time they had a beanbag on the floor and he slept on it.
