Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had six babies, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

OP posts:

You defo lose your inhibitions; I flash the neighbours too Lauren. I also farted in the OB's face whilst being stitched up. Lol! My DD is a right fart bag incidentally. And I know there was a poo even tho the MW was trying to save my "dignity" and pretend there wasn't. She said they do like a poo and think it's a sign of good pushing. Sorry if tmi but u gotta laugh really.

kismac · 27/03/2015 21:05

Congrats Fingerscrossed

Hooray for well behaved baby, Squatting. Hope baby stays in place.

Sykra, very exciting that things are moving along.

I managed to eat and not throw up today. Yay! Think I might have a bug on the way though as I hurt all over. Bump has been tight all day and won't ease off. Feel like my skin is going to tear. Naughty baby, stop hurting me. Ha ha.

cinnamongreyhound · 27/03/2015 21:13

They feel like period pains with your bump getting hard IveGotACaveTroll, mine started at the bottom and kind of radiated up to the top. Same kind of feeling just gets more and more painful and closer together.

Lots of women get their labour pains in their backs so keep an eye on it Sairie.

Ladies bf make sure you have a pint of water with you for every feed and you really do need to keep the calories up. Eat what you fancy and of you're hungry in the night eat something, your body can't make milk from fresh air.

Im struggling with walking today, as soon as I walk my bump goes tight and pulls down the fronts of my legs! Then I struggle to breathe as there's not room with a hard uterus! But I ran this morning with no problem, don't get it Confused

Dh and my mum have a bet going as to whether I will go into labour in my own! She thinks I'll be third time lucky and he says no way, nice Shock

RL20 · 27/03/2015 21:27

Well I'm back from the pub (boss' leaving do) which I went to with my mum (I'm capable of going places on my own - sort of - but she does work at the same place as me Wink).
I do not miss going out at all - never was a big drinker anyway, but the pub was just full of the same old sort of people. Young lads (probably around my age, 20s, wearing tops that are about 5 sizes too small for them, and women in their 40s and 50s dolled up to the nines and wearing clothes that even I wouldn't wear pre pregnancy Shock. I definitely felt glad to be going home - well back to my mums as other half is away as you know.
I may only be 22 but it's not true that every young person wants to be out partying! I suppose it helps that I have played a part in my step daughters life since she was about 1, who is now 6. Don't get me wrong I've had my nights out, but I am definitely ready for more days out and nights in!
Reflective rambling moment there!
Smile

Cinnamon do you mean a bet as in whether you'll be out or at home on your own when you go into labour? If so I keep thinking that's going to happen to me! I would send myself into such a panic Confused.

Yay for no sickness kismac! Although keep an eye on your whole body aching!

Chicken that made me laugh! Grin

Random question on birth, and probably a silly one! Does it put much pressure on your actual bum?
TMI - I've never had 'regular' poos, as in, I go about once a week. So when I do, it's quite well you know, strenuous!? Often with a tiny bit of blood. Has always been the same ever since I can remember. Actually one incident sticks in my mind from when I was young and I was shouting for my mum because it hurt that much Blush So sorry for TMI!

Lauren82000 · 27/03/2015 21:27

Chicken it's lucky to poo during labour. That's what my mum says and she poo'd when I was born. Blush Well she actually says it's lucky to be born in shit but I don't think she means literally. Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 27/03/2015 21:32

No RL20, as in if I will naturally go into labour or whether baby won't show up until I'm induced on 7th. Yes it does put pressure on your bum, lots of women get piles from pushing during labour.

RL20 · 27/03/2015 21:48

Oh I see! Wow, not long until the 7th, either way!
Yes that's what I've heard, ouch ConfusedSad

Underwood2013 · 27/03/2015 22:17

Still catching up on this thread but banana I feel your SPD pain! Well done you for commuting & coping at work. I'm in pain just doing errands like the food shop... Feels like my crotch is almost burning. Lovely.

smogsville · 27/03/2015 22:21

Thanks Penguin, Lauren, Tiny and Skyra for heartburn/ indigestion comments and suggestions. More snacks for me then! It's good to know it's not just me (in a nice way) as I haven't had anything like this before so it's a bit unsettling with less than three wks to go.

LOL for your neighbours with binoculars Lauren! I'm sure they don't have them btw...

Chicken I can't really see how there wouldn't be a poo, what with all the pushing. Better out than in Blush

I second what cinnamon says about eating at night if you need to, BFers. I once sat there at god knows what time stuffing myself with a bag of choc buttons to keep up with DD's appetite.

Sorry for all the uncomfortableness everyone, especially when you're not sure if it's the start of something or not.

RL20 · 27/03/2015 22:24

Just laying quietly in bed on my side and having lots of movement and wriggling around, and just heard a sort of clicking sound?! What could that be?!?!

daholster · 27/03/2015 22:26

Just got the crib and car seat and bouncer and bassinet top for the buggy down from the loft. Dh had a strop when he found the old crib mattress saying buying the new one was a waste of money... And then hr got the bottles and steriliser down too.

Taken the cover off the car seat and hopefully dd and granny can wash them tomorrow along with the bassinet and crib.

Ice cream seems to have set off my Braxton Hicks, lol!!!

Painting his room tomorrow... Shock Think dd will want to help? Grin

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 27/03/2015 22:31

RL I've had that too. No idea what it is! MIL said she had it with DH too!

RL20 · 27/03/2015 22:42

LittleGreyCat it was odd!
Having lots of movements that feel like he is trying to escape through my belly button! Shock

FiRaffe · 27/03/2015 22:44

Evening ladies, just catching up but too much to be able to reply. New lady was in again today so couldn't really be on my phone again.

Bump is really sore and has definitely dropped. Got stopped in town by some random woman saying I mustn't have long left and good luck...hmm this baby better hold on for a bit longer, only 36 weeks today.

Hope all are feeling better and congrats to those with new babies.

PenguinPoser · 28/03/2015 00:36

Thanks cinnamon and smogsville you're right I can't make milk from fresh air hadn't thought of it like that. I now have some squash and flapjack by my bed! Not that I'm in my bed. DD is on a feeding frenzy, first time all day she's taken second boob!

Hope everyone gets some sleep. If not post to keep me company! Brew

kismac · 28/03/2015 04:06

Sleep, sleep, sleep! Who needs sleep!? Just waiting on pain killers kicking in. Might be hungry too. I can't tell anymore.

RL, I think that's when I knew I was ready for a baby. Nights out just didn't appeal as much anymore. I'd rather stay in. I used to be a bit boozy in my younger days but noticed that it just wasn't fun anymore.

Aww cinnamon. The big meanies! Come on baby and prove them wrong! He he.

Daholster, get DD and DH to paint and you can supervise with a cuppa.

Siarie · 28/03/2015 04:34

Damn these contractions, I was timing then gave up 6 mins apart. But was just woken by a terrible cramp.

Either stay in or get out, ahhhhh

kismac · 28/03/2015 04:37

Oh no, is it worth you calling the hospital to ask some advice?

RL20 · 28/03/2015 05:08

Kismac I seen your post earlier but didn't realise you had not long written it otherwise I would have wrote back, as I've been awake for a bit now. Woke up for a wee at about 4am and cannot get comfortable at all now. I'm at my mums so I'm missing my memory foam mattress Sad. Also developed sniffles yesterday from nowhere and can't stop blowing my nose, so have given up on sleep now. Can never rest properly when my other half is out/away anyway.

Are you ok, Siarie?

RL20 · 28/03/2015 05:09

And yay for the second boob latch, Penguin!

RL20 · 28/03/2015 05:38

Well I've ended up getting up to make a cup of tea and a slice of toast. I'll probably be tired after that Hmm
But now it's getting light outside. Hmm

IvegotaCaveTroll · 28/03/2015 06:53

4am seems to be my waking time. BHs seem to have settled overnight- so painful yesterday though (I'm obviously going too be shocked by labour then).
At least DH has canc Ellen all the wedding plans today- would not have felt comfortable 70 miles from home- very keen to be near my hospital if anything does happen.

Iv probably got an interview for a fellowship in stroke this Wednesday- fat chance of my getting to that with constant BHs. Hopefully the posts won't b filled first round and they'll interview me later. It would probably be odd interviewing a heavily pregnant women who was squirming in her seat! Do u automatically, get employed if ur waters go halfway through?
Iv got a job anyway so no big deal this is just an extra year before bein a consultant.

I wish I did pregnancy better than I do- I can't see DH letting me do it again, but I always wanted 2 children- il just b glad as some people don't get any.

Siari any updates? I hope u are ok

Lauren82000 · 28/03/2015 06:54

I got woken up by DD demanding breakfast. DH wouldn't do, it had to be mummy! She was winding up for a right strop if I didn't get up. Annoying as I'd just snuggled up to DH, doesn't happen very often as she is usually in between us when we wake up! Confused I guess she is being clingy because of the baby and I should make more effort to play with her. But I'm with her all day today as DH is working! Could of done with a bit longer in bed.

PenguinPoser · 28/03/2015 06:54

Regardless of light or dark it's always time for sleep!
Hope you're ok Siarie?
Kismac I'm always hungry now!

Lauren82000 · 28/03/2015 06:57

Ivegotacavetroll- I know someone who got the job when she went through the interview with a broken finger! She trapped it in the car door on her way in and managed to get through it, but they sent her to A&E afterwards and her nail had to be taken off she'd made a right mess of it.
