Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 23rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 40th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

The stats sheet is here

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Thanks lovelies, its a massive relief. Oddly enough I still don't feel ready to announce to the world! We don't have the dating scan til next week which is 13 weeks (thanks to lost paperwork) so I might do it then.

I've officially told my managers now but asked that they don't tell anyone else. I might tell the rest of work tomorrow when I'm 12 weeks. I've already had 3 scans so I'm ok with not waiting til the one next week.

I noticed the lack of skin to skin on OBEM and was surprised by it.

I'm consultant led so no MLU for me. I'm going to push for ELCS because I probably won't go past 38 weeks due to diabetes and the options are induction or ELCS. Either way I plan to have an epidural.

ZylaB · 11/03/2015 14:21

purple check with them, at my hospital they induce at 38 weeks for diabetes, but try to leave it to 39 for an elcs, due to higher chance of fluid on baby's lungs or something. It'd all depend on size, growth, placental function etc. I started saying I'd have a CS, then decided to try for induction because of benefits to baby. That said it ended up being an emcs anyway lol :)

TheBooMonster · 11/03/2015 15:08

pis I like it, I prefer the 15 minute track to the 30 minute track, as the 30 minute track does go into the whole labour experience and I find it a bit off-putting that she's talking about cervixes opening and baby naturally descending etc when baby is kicking my ribs in. Though I don't know you've listened to the birth music CD, there is something that I'm sure is meant to be whale or dolphin song but makes me think of bats, not necessarily a bad thing as I love bats, but a bit odd!

willywallace · 11/03/2015 15:40

Haha bats in the delivery room, how relaxing!

It's quiet in here today.

La going to write you a message on fb about baby carriers.

mountaingirl01 · 11/03/2015 16:10

Currently waiting for another scan for nt measures - I took chats advice and just rang saying my midwife had told me to rebook! Got here, finally found parking then was told I had to go home and get notes (which I didn't have as they booked me in when I called from work this morning). Grrrr. Poor dh has just come off nights too and has had to deal with a pissed off preggers lady! It's 40 mins from hospital to home.. can't wait to see babe again though!

ChatEnOeuf · 11/03/2015 17:46

Woo Mountain, glad it worked :) Hope the measurements are reassuring now.

Purple - keep an open mind, throughout this whole process. It helps, trust me. I've seen thousands of babies being born and had surprisingly set ideas about how I expected things to happen - my body just took over in the end and everything was much more natural than I expected. Partly I guess because I only ever seen the complex deliveries (and the occasional normal ones on OBEM Wink )

Oh don't worry Dulcet I can have eggs - and fully intend to have my fair share (that's two out of the four of us, yes?). It's the big swings I can't handle :)

Fleurchamp · 11/03/2015 17:48

They wouldn't do it without notes mountain? I keep forgetting mine Hmm but they do it regardless and give me stuff to slip into the book.

I have had the day from hell. Just got home and am going to skip yoga and meet my girlie mates in the pub for a chin wag and chips Grin

gaggiagirl · 11/03/2015 17:58

I've been out for lunch with my mam today. She suggested people might think I'm trying to trap OH by getting pregnant............no words.

Indigoblue2 · 11/03/2015 18:02

Aren't you gaggia? WinkWink

Fattycow · 11/03/2015 18:03

gaggia, that is appalling! Shock

gaggiagirl · 11/03/2015 18:14

Ha ha maybe if he was Donald Trump I might be, however he's just some bloke who works in a factory and still gets his ironing done by his mammy Grin I love him dearly naturally but he's free to leave at any time.
I'm quite tickled at the thought that I can just 'get' pregnant. What can I say I'm talented Wink

teejayem · 11/03/2015 18:39

I like the idea of hypno bats!

Saw consultant today, who was lovely, but I'm not really much further forward with deciding what to do about work Confused. He (like everyone else I've spoken to) has said there's not a whole lot I can do bar painkillers and rest until I deliver. He did ask me lots of questions about my spondy tho, and sciatica, and typically I had absolutely no mobility issues all afternoon, I didn't even waddle, but he seemed to understand it was sporadic!

I said I'd been off for nearly 4 weeks and he said he agreed with GP's advice. (sit on bum, eat codiene) I've got an anesthetists appointment booked for 31 weeks to assess what I can and can't have (He recommended epidural, and I wanted one anyway) Don't think they will be letting me go over 38/39 weeks so I have another appt with consultant at 36 weeks to discuss delivery and birth plan. He said that as it stood at the moment, I should be able to deliver myself, and if it gets worse then 'there are options' so I guess I just need to wait and see, which is fine, I don't have my heart set on V or C delivery, as long as he turns up and he's okay. (And I don't trash my pelvis in the meantime).

So now the conundrum. I need to go back to GP tomorrow to get some more painkillers irrespective. I am seriously leaning towards asking for another 2 week cert, which will take me to 30 weeks, and then taking my AL from 30 weeks until 35 weeks, and then taking my ML from 35 weeks. If I do this, I've brought everything forward by 1 month earlier than planned which I don't think is too bad. I think as I said before, I'm happy to attempt to go back to work, but I'm worried that I'll end up back at square one after a week commuting and back at the desk. My boss said yesterday I could wfh 1-2 days but they would have to be set and pre-agreed, so I wouldn't be able to call in if I was having a particularly bad spasm for example and not go in on the day, I'd have to take it as sick.

It does seem ridiculously early to start ML, but that's what it's for, right...!? :(

Pisghetti · 11/03/2015 19:00

Good grief Ga! Do you live in the 1970s? Hope your mum doesn't think that!

Starting ML at 35 weeks is not ridiculously early Tee - especially in your case. Most of the time I just had to drive to the office but when I had to travel to London my SPD would get really bad. I've been much better since finishing work.

Decided to sack off Daisy. I've got spotty tonsils (thanks DS! Didn't even know tonsillitis was contagious but seems a bit of a coincidence we get it a week apart...!) and a whooshie head to match so have gone back to bed with a stack of pillows and a leccie blanket.

I gave away some of DS' old bedding and some cutlery via freecycle. I could not make head nor tail of the collector's emails - she kept saying she was off to buy rice and I couldn't understand the relevance. Well she came to collect today and brought homemade curry, rice and breads for us. I think they're veggie curries so I can't use that excuse but none of us are sure if we should eat them. Would you?

TheBooMonster · 11/03/2015 19:15

tee 35 weeks isn't that early, mine starts Monday which will make me 36 weeks, crap I need to sort out my maternity allowance forms that are sat on the side crap crap crap but I have been on holiday for what seems like forever O.o With DD I started even earlier, and that was to plan a wedding, not to keep my pelvis in one piece, so 35 weeks sounds reasonable to me!

TheBooMonster · 11/03/2015 19:17

pis bringing food for a stranger who's given you free stuff seems a bit unusual, but does it smell good? If it smells good I'd give it a go perhaps try it on DH first as he can take something if he gets ill

willywallace · 11/03/2015 19:19

Haha very random Pis but quite sweet. I would eat them if I wasn't pg but probably not worth the risk at your stage. Hope your throat gets better before baby arrives.

Is that her way of saying you should get married Gaggia?

If you need to do it Tee then you should. As long as it doesn't mess up your plans at the other end.

ChatEnOeuf · 11/03/2015 19:34

Gaggia Shock some people!

Tee 35w isn't early at all - I was ushered off onto mat leave at 33w, simply because it was changeover week and they refused to give me a place on the next rota for three weeks! As it happened I needed it - we moved house at 35, and DD arrived at 37 :) I'd do it.

Pis agree with Boo - teat on DH, if he says it's good then go for it. I feel really odd taking nice stuff for free, even if I know the person - I always bake some biscuits or something as a thank you. And yes, tonsillitis is very contagious - strep usually.

One of my work friends is visiting today for a week - v excited to catch up properly and share the waffle love Grin

Lemondrizzletwunt · 11/03/2015 19:40

Ga is she not aware of your feelings on the cunthawk?

batfish · 11/03/2015 19:44

My mum said that back when she had me the normal time to start mat leave was at 28 weeks! Insane! Where I live I only get 3 months maternity leave so plan to go into labour in the office!

mountaingirl01 · 11/03/2015 19:46

Bit bizarre Pis but as chat said, probably just a thank you? I want curry now, am going to ask dh to bring some home...

Scan happened but babe still in the wrong place for nt so I will just have to settle for combined bloods. At least I got to see her/im again though :) and got another pic. Growing fine, but still not wiggling for the camera! I guess I am going to worry about something or other the whole way through, I just still can't believe nothing is going to go wrong!

mountaingirl01 · 11/03/2015 19:47

Oh and dh fell asleep in a waiting room full!l of pregnant women Grin

gaggiagirl · 11/03/2015 19:52

wil good theory. She's fairly tactless though. But I agree with pis its a 70's thing to say.
Well I've trapped him now so my evil plan has worked mwa ha ha!

gaggiagirl · 11/03/2015 20:13

mountain still you got to see the little dude again though! I bet that was lovely.

pis eat it! Its cultural to do the food thing. Was the lady indian? I think it was lovely of her to bring food. I would eat it. I would eat my own arm at the moment.

Pisghetti · 11/03/2015 20:17

Well DP doesn't think I should risk it as we don't know what her kitchen/prep is like (particularly wrt the rice) but he's physically incapable of wasting food so he'll certainly try some. I'm not eating much anyway although my tummy did just give a pathetic gurgle and wiggly baby is getting wigglier (she doesn't like me being hungry...) so maybe I should venture out of bed to make some cheese on toast or something.

I wondered about the Strep thing Chat and started googling it before realising it's a different bacteria to Strep B (and my throat and vagina are not connected Hmm)

What a naughty baby Mountain! Glad you got to see them again though Smile

Boo I can't take whale song seriously (even batty whales) so don't think I'll be using that music!
