Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 23rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 40th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

The stats sheet is here

So, roll call below please, viroids!

God - just stepped on scales. Worst idea ever as I've not had a poo for 2 days and just are fajitas followed by bar of galaxy. Right - rest of pregnancy I'm going to be healthy!!!

Just tried to find sudacreme in my house. There are 6 tubs of sudacreme in my house and none are for me. 5 (including 2 mini freebie ones) in loft for baby. 1 in box of horse stuff for horse, covered in horse hair. I was tempted to use it but restrained myself. E45 will have to do!

We've gone on made selling spree. Just made £40 selling CDs to music magpie. Got wi fit and my expensive body protector up for sake now plus our spare bed. Dh has listed a tonne of stuff on eBay. Hopefully with the money we get we can make enough for baby monitor and carrier. 2 more expensive things off list!

Womble stretchy pains are normal lemon. Lots of water drinking and sleeping will help. Take naps while you can!

Tee I get itchy at night too - I've found showering before bed helps as it ahem...freshens things up down below and stops the chafing.

Lancôme anti chafe gaggia? Posh anti chafe cream? Wow! I might need to sell something to get it...

Purple woohoo!

Evening all - 25w appt here all done - baby transverse as suspected but looking well. Cervix still long and closed so still looking competent to hold a baby in...all good. Had a bit of a chat about the glucose test and concluded that with my relative slimness, lack of family history and unaffected first pregnancy it was probably not necessary to test for GD. Good thing really as I have a tendency to faint when hungry, hot or after being given a sugar load... Grin

La hope your thighs recover. I've no ideas, I live in trousers as much as possible and thick woolly tights the rest of the time at the moment. Roll on summer!

Lauren young Isaac is just fabulous, looking unimpressed with his tube, I reckon that'll be pulled out soon and repeatedly Wink How goes the expressing?

Lemon - all normal. Crappy, but normal. Come tell us all about it, we'll try and reassure wherever we can :)

deeplybaffled · 10/03/2015 22:27

purple - congratulations on the nifty test results - glad it was all ok for you too.

now mine has come back ok, and I've told a few more people, it's starting to feel a bit more real. So whilst I'm feeling brave, can someone tell me how to join the Facebook group, please?

ZylaB · 10/03/2015 22:33

Sorry been a bit awol
Grats on good test results! Deeply I know you didn't find out, but purple did you find out the sex? :)

ZylaB · 10/03/2015 22:33

chat yay for good appointment :)

Purpleball · 10/03/2015 23:03

No we didn't find out the sex. We're having a surprise Smile

I bought a new baby set in Asda tonight, with neutral hat, bib, vest, sleep suit, mittens etc...I couldn't resist once I knew all ok.
Need to stop myself buying as we're getting loads off my brother

TheBooMonster · 10/03/2015 23:05

oh purple what a load off your mind now the test results are back!!

Lol, dulcet we're still fiddling stuff out to kill DD and she's long past being a baby, yesterday she tried to squeeze through the railing on the landing, we're going to have to get boards to cover the whole lot on before she thinks to bloody climb it as she has no concept of the distance she'd end up falling down onto the stairs... I'm not even going into how I said 18 months ago that we should do that and everyone scoffed at me and told me she'd never try and climb through or up the tempting rails of the banister...

Whoops I won an auction earlier for a Natal Hypnotherapy Labour Companion CD and it turns out it's also got a copy of the birth preparation CD, so now I've got two copies...

Angry some people are so bloody judgemental! There's a conversation going on in one my my due in groups about epidurals and it seems to be the general consensus that epidurals are an easy way out, first it was c-sections and now it's epidurals, next they'll be saying that taking any pain relief at all is an easy way out!! So long as the baby comes out does it really matter what marvels of modern medicine people make use of to help it happen?! #rantend

gaggiagirl · 10/03/2015 23:13

la its lancane or it might be lanacane. I think it comes in a yellow tube. £5.99.

willywallace · 10/03/2015 23:43

Lanacane I think Gaggia.

Boo that is fucking ridiculous. Have they given birth before? Although it makes it a bit easier after the birth if you haven't had to have an epidural, I defy anyone to know what that pain is like and to think it's not a good idea to ask for the best pain relief they can get. This is why you never stray from the the JSers Wink . I recommend you tell them they are being total fannies.

ZylaB · 11/03/2015 02:18

By the way, for anyone who remembers how lovely I said my SIL is, and how much advice, help, reassurance and time she gave me when I had all my complications with pre eclampsia, hospital stays and then early baby.... If you watched the new One Born a Every Minute, she's the doc who came and delivered the first couple's baby with forceps Grin

(I'd say this would out me, but anyone who knows me could work out my mn name from my posts about the diabetes, baby name etc, so whatever :) )

Fleurchamp · 11/03/2015 07:00

Ooh zyla I might have to watch on catch up. Am currently burying my head in the sand about the actual birth.

Although I have started to read about our local MLU which looks lovely, all private rooms with double bed so DH can stay too, option of water birth in every room too. However no epidural option. It is part of the hospital so if anything goes wrong help is close at hand.

Delivery suite, not so good - put on ward straight afterwards unless there is a private room available and you pay extra for it.

I am meeting a doula tomorrow for an informal chat to see if we want to hire her. DH and I agreed at the beginning that it made sense, now he is seeing it as a slight against him! Ah well, we'll see what she's like.

Purpleball · 11/03/2015 07:04

Oh Zyla I watched it and thought she was lovely!

LaLaLaaaa · 11/03/2015 07:11

Blush god how tired must I have been to read that as Lancôme! Idiot

I'm watching obem tomorrow night, got it recorded

OP posts:
gaggiagirl · 11/03/2015 07:14

zyla she was friggin marvellous! Love OBEM.
I must say though I truly dont know anyone who has has had a vaginal birth with epidural in real life. Not because I only associate with hard as nails women, but because the maternity units actively discourage them round here. My friend begged for one and they just told her to carry on because it would be difficult to get an anaesthetist.
The ladies one obem got their epidurals no bother.

LaLaLaaaa · 11/03/2015 07:28

My friend had one gaggia and ended up with third degree tear because she couldn't feel anything and pushed too hard :(

OP posts:
DulcetMoans · 11/03/2015 07:32

Yeah, ignore those ladies boo! There isn't a right or wrong way and not sure there is an easy way out when it comes to childbirth. I won't be ruling anything out - but largely just not thinking about that bit.

That's the problem as well boo, once you protect them from the things that are trying to kill them they start trying to kill themselves! They are tricksy things.

Pleased you got your results back purple, and all is well!

Fainting when you have sugar can't be good chat! Easter is coming too - how will you have all the eggs?!

Indigoblue2 · 11/03/2015 07:54

purple and deeply hooray for your super results! Grin

zyla I know exactly who you mean, she was ace! I enjoyed obem but kinda wondered, like how popz said, how accurate a portrayal it is? Women lying on backs and then no immediate skin to skin? I really don't want an epidural, might change mind when I realise how bad the pain is but I know very few people in real life who've had them.

ZylaB · 11/03/2015 08:02

I liked when she said forceps aren't that bad, trust me. It made me smile as I knew she'd had them with my nephew :). The first woman got immediate skin to skin though last night?

indigo I had an epidural so can answer any questions from my experience if you want :)

ZylaB · 11/03/2015 08:03

Also, I think both women last night were on their backs because they'd had epidurals. It was very painful for me to be on my back before I had mine, after I didn't care :)

willywallace · 11/03/2015 09:07

I got immediate skin to skin after my delivery with epidural but not after birth without, as was in lots of pain after. I was on my back for both. With the second, simply because I found it was the only position I could bear. I think it's pretty silly to make a firm decision either way before the event as you have no idea how it will go. My two labours were like night and day. I tore in two places with no epidural - it's possible if you have one or not.

Fattycow · 11/03/2015 10:20

I think I'm going to start reading my hypnobirthing book today. Smile

RPopz · 11/03/2015 10:34

Couldn't decide whether to watch OBEM or not! I've sky plussed it just in case. Would be interesting to see your SIL Zyla Grin Can't say I enjoyed forceps tbh!! But I don't know if it would've been any more or less painful to push him out naturally so... I didn't get immediate skin to skin as the paed Dr had to check DS over because of the meconium.

Those people sound like asses Boo. Ignore!

Pisghetti · 11/03/2015 10:42

I had an epidural with DS. I was utterly overwhelmed and panicked but the epidural allowed me to calm down and rest as I laboured through the night. I came out with an intact perineum too so tearing is not inevitable. No one knows how they will feel and what they will need to get through it. This time I'm planning to use a standalone MLU so epidural is not an option but have done a lot more birth preparation this time around. I am questioning my decision today as I am ill and reminded of just what a fanny I am. Heading back for the restart of the Daisy birth course tonight as I could do with the positive affirmations again!

Congratulations Purple and Deeply! Must be a relief.

Can't remember who else said what - might have to venture out of bed to get the iPad....

Pisghetti · 11/03/2015 10:47

Boo how do you find the birth prep CD? A friend lent me one but I fall fast asleep every time I listen to it so have no idea what I'm meant to do during the birth!?! Probably coincidence but I started sleeping a hell of a lot better after I started listening to it and I do remember that being one of the suggestions made...
