Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 23rd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 40th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

The stats sheet is here

So, roll call below please, viroids!

I'm on the September thread, but as I'm due at the start, I'm ahead of most people on it, so definitely finding the JSrs more reassuring, given I haven't got the faintest idea what I'm doing!
la - hope you feel better now - your horse lady sounds pretty insensitive, tbh.
not dared to watch OBEM - it's recorded for when i feel brave. Quite intrigued as although not my local hospital, it's not far away and i know it by reputation, so will be interested to hear how it compares Smile

gaggia I remember seeing that post on the Oct thread too! Thought was very unhelpful 'advice'! I like being on there as I think as things get closer it might be nice to have people at a similar stage but then on the other hand it can panic you like it did when I was shitting myself about no symptoms and literally everyone else is throwing their guts up. With the viroids is def a nice place to hang out though and it's so useful to hear about further along stuff.

Morning viroids. I haven't warmed to the September one either. It moves too fast and I haven't got to know anyone

I haven't been on the July Fred for aggggges. Maybe I should join the FB group?

I went out last night for the first time in yonks to catch up with a friend. We just had some dinner but, boy, did I pay for it. Such bad indigestion Sad

Why is pregnancy so cruel? I just want all the food and now all the food is ganging up on me Envy

I guess it's the body's way of slowly getting you used to the torture of having children Grin . Only joking I'm not. Another delightful night in my house..

I think the threads probably get better towards the end as people drop out. I didn't go on them this time but did for a few weeks before my mc and I felt the same as you Purple.

DulcetMoans · 18/03/2015 07:21

I've never posted on the July one but do read it a couple times a week. Seems really quiet on there now as they all moved to Facebook I think. They don't really seem to have much of a conversation so much as just update about themselves. They did talk lots about things they were buying but it was, I felt, really early and I was still worried if baby was alive not where it would sit in the car!

Eurgh. Indigestion and reflux, what a shit. Get chewing on the rennies viroids!

Sleep was possibly marginally better last night so will maybe give the dreamgenii another chance tonight...

Morning! Just realised I mistook purple for pis yesterday, that's how I time travelled pis!

Presentation today to all the trustees gulp was up til 11 doing it probably would have finished earlier if it weren't for MN people have been fired for saying wrong thing at these meetings before so I am a bit terrified.

Today is a busy day - work them I've got to do a horse home visit then my fitness class. Maybe I'll just stay in bed...

Forgot to say I had midwife yesterday. She said my baby will need to be scanned for hip dysplasia when born because I had it. She also said definite no to baby bjorn carrier. My bloods are coming forward to 26 weeks to check for anaemia. Anyone else having whooping cough vaccine? I asked about strep b and she was a bit dismissive of it, said if it were a problem they'd routinely test for it. But I've requested the test so I'm having it at 37 weeks.

Bounce pis bounce!

Good luck today la!

I didn't bother with the month thread, one look and I knew I would obsess, I'd been with you guys for too long as well!

gaggia I think it's more that your uterus is growing and therefore pushing all your other guts forward. Don't forget at the moment your baby may be small but the uterus is about the size of a grapefruit, that's taking up a lot more space than it did before! Your poor other insides need to go somewhere :)

willywallace · 18/03/2015 08:10

Good luck La. I think I probably got whooping cough vaccine. I got something else along with the flu jab anyway. They shouldn't be so dismissive of strep I don't think. At least with you having a boy there's less chance of hip problems so fx.

This morning DD has wee'd on the carpet in protest of me needing a wee first. Then she ate some nail varnish, turquoise if your interested, decided it tasted horrid then spat the blue spit onto the cream carpet Angry
Bloody kids!

Oh Ga that did make me laugh! DD can be a little monster at times too.

La they test for GBS here routinely, it's not so much a cost thing, as a beds thing in my mind - you test positive, you need antibiotics in labour, which ties you to hospital rather than being send home. Also need to treat the babies as a precaution when they feck it up or the lady labours too quickly to get the ABs in. And that takes a couple of days. All about beds... Angry DD needed a hip USS too, they're quick and painless.

I'm in the June FB group which is lovely, though I've not been on the N thread for a while. Too much chat here :)

Morning viroids. Another good sleep and no sign of this child.

I had the whooping cough vaccine La - it protects the baby until their first jabs and whooping cough is particularly nasty in babies. Good luck with your presentation today!

I joined the March thread but didn't really engage with it much. To say it is cliquey would be unfair - it isn't - but there are a core group of posters and I haven't committed to it like they have. Cos I have you lovelies to whine at instead Grin

I thought of Popz during OBEM last night! Esp as they called their firstborn Ted (eventually). I felt really sorry for the Brazilian lady - but was pretty frustrated that she was lying so flat on her back for so long and not at all surprised she was failing to progress.

Really selling motherhood there gaggia! haha. Out of interest, can you get her to taste the different colour and see if it's any different? Just out of interest really!

Good luck today la, I am sure you will be fine and there will be sackings. We will try not to distract you too much!

The system I manage at work is down so I can have a little break while the work I have to do piles up. Maybe I will shop for maternity trousers! I have taken to wearing a sack of a dress. Its not glam but so comfy!

Also had the whooping cough vaccine :)

I went on the March thread, but a lot of them went on fb and the thread went quiet for ages. I've posted on it a bit more since babies started arriving, but no connection like to people on here sounds like a scary stalker!

GL la

Right, someone tell me what I need to know about step b and whooping cough. Should I request? I am in (kinda) London and I know they give babies the BCG (eek!)

Found out today that DH didn't get a job he went for, it was a bit of a long shot - he is a bit too qualified for it and it would be a "step down" plus a pay cut BUT it would have been so much better for us Sad in his current job he travels frequently for a week or so at a time- when we tot it up he is usually away for 12 weeks a year. He really doesn't want to travel when the baby is here (although I reckon he will jump at the chance of a good night's sleep!).

Report
Pisghetti · 18/03/2015 11:22

Whooping cough vaccine should be offered to you (32-36 weeks I think) in time for your body to make and pass on the antibodies to the baby before birth. This then provides some short term protection for your baby before they have the first set of jabs. It's not available singly so you'll get a four in one jab (diphtheria, tetanus and polio also although as I understand you don't pass on protection against these in the same way). Strep B testing probably won't be offered to you as it is not routinely done. It's a bacteria which most of us carry harmlessly but if it is present in the vagina at birth it can cause an unpleasant infection to the newborn. If you do carry it at the time you're tested (it can come and go so testing is only reliable close to delivery) then you'll get antibiotics during labour to prevent the baby picking up the infection.

Fleurchamp · 18/03/2015 11:45

Thanks pis I had a little google. I can see the pros and cons for strep B but I think I will ask for it and see what they say.

Baby is prodding me in the foof. Very odd.
