This started as a TTC thread about a year ago, which, as so many of us C'ed, kind of fizzled out Smile. Since then, we've been joined by many other over-35ers to share the joys and grumbles of pregnancy in our decrepitude, and watch first our pubes, then our feet, disappearing from view.....

Oh & i also have no clue about babies. Im a bit better than i was following my 2nieces but far from the maternal type.....keep saying we'll be fine, its my mantra!

Cineraria · 16/05/2015 11:34

I'm just making toast for breakfast, Stubborn and wondering which type of poo I'd prefer on it!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 16/05/2015 12:43

Lol!

stubbornstains · 16/05/2015 19:48
Grin

My slightly un- politically correct mantra was: "Look at all the really stupid people who have babies, and manage not to kill them" (works when you're learning to drive, too) Smile.

Hi everyone, sorry I've Been quiet too...... I'm nearly 23 weeks now and feeling tired. Also DD is poorly with ear infection so we've had a few sleepless nights ... So looking more like pregnant zombie than human being

Snooky17 · 17/05/2015 09:07

Congrats Clarke
Great mantra Stubborn.
If it helps and it probably doesn't but I am eldest of 6 always a baby in our house no matter how many u have held or changed or fed, when your baby cries and you don't know why, it's scary as hell, you feel so rubbish as a mum, but you will figure it out ! I promise x
lola hope DD feels better soon, on a side note why are there no walking dead pregnant zombies ?
39+6 today, did have a bloody show yesterday, never had one before labour, full on tons of the stuff ewwwwww

Sparrowlegs248 · 18/05/2015 05:05

Morning all. Good mantra stubborn I keep having similar thoughts. I have drunk 'too much' tea and coffee this weekend. Not loads by any means and console myself with the fact that some of my clients are taking drugs and smoke and drink daily and have healthy babies. And actually I have a couple of colleagues and wonder how their children are still alive after some of their stories!!

I am truly exhausted. Sleep is evading me.

snooky does that means things Will get started soon?

Snooky17 · 18/05/2015 12:13

Clarke, welcome! I had never changed a nappy before I had ds four years ago. It's easy!
And ha, stubborn - that's exactly what a told myself when learning to drive!
Clarke, pm me with either your fb profile url, so I can add you as a friend then add you to the secret group, or send me your email address, and I can add you that way. When you are ready.

Cine, hope you are feeling better. Did you get to the Baby Show?

stubbornstains · 18/05/2015 22:43

I think the most crucial time for caffeine is in the first trimester notta, and you're past that...and as usual, if you look into the studies that these recommendations are drawn from, it all starts to look a bit more inconclusive. I've certainly gone over my "ration" on days that I've needed it....

I like the new name wasabi Smile

I had two teas and two coffees yesterday. Maybe 3 teas actually. But am struggling to function with lack of sleep.

Good name wasabi

Its great that we are all at different stages, so the births come along a bit spread out. Will we have a post natal group too?

Sparrowlegs248 · 19/05/2015 06:22

My alarm went off while I was posting that. Only been awake since 3.40!

Cineraria · 19/05/2015 08:01

Congratulations, Snooky and Wasabi! What lovely news! I hope you're enjoying everything and not too sore/tired.

I didn't get to the Baby Show. We were both coughing a lot so didn't feel like travelling and thought is best not to share the germs with everyone else there. I spent the day making a list of what we need to get and looking online. Better now though.

Sorry to hear you're not sleeping, Notta. Is it because you're uncomfortable? Also do you find the baby moves around a lot when you drink coffee? I haven't got a taste for it at the moment but had one last Saturday and it felt like he was doing the Can Can!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 12/06/2015 00:08

Any lurking old birds, we're mainly using fb now. Post here & we can add you if you like. Hope everyone is keeping well. My wee man is 3 wks & 1 day now!

supersupersupershock · 23/06/2015 19:35

Haven't been on here for soooooooooo long now, but will PM you to join FB group please :)

Gingerbreadlady1 · 23/06/2015 19:48

Hi there, there should be a request for you to join the group supershock x

ProbablyMe · 27/09/2015 09:23

Hi, I've been lurking! Found out I was pregnant (due 24th May) a couple of weeks ago at the age of 41. Was on here quietly a while ago but suffered a late and then an early miscarriage earlier this year. Now hoping everything goes well this time! Can I join you?
