But it's certainly still a traumatic experience that you went through ann .. It's hard to let go of the 'dream' scenario but makes for a happier life when we do I guess Smile A small part of me still wishes I could try for a VBAC because I want that glorious baby put straight on chest moment.. But our glorious moments will just be slightly different..
I hope that you get happier first moments with your newborn this time around.. Flowers

Also reading my former post back, it was a bit misleading when I said you can't end up with an EMCS when you have an ELCS - of course you can should problems arise earlier than your planned date & time is of the essence.. But surely you can't end up with an emergency section during an elective? Please educate me haha..

Off to get DS ready for bedtime.. Woohoo!
Will give you ladies a rest from my ridiculously long posts! Have a good evening! Xx

Evening team november. Just got DS in bed, made a cup of tea (decaf) and catching up on how your all doing. Nausea again this morning and started again this evening and wow i'm shattered again.

CishAndFips · 02/03/2015 19:27

Oops posted to soon. So i think it's going to be another early night for me.

tootsroots · 02/03/2015 19:45

Those with cramps - do they feel like af is coming? My whole lower pelvis is cramping like af is on her way - to say I am utterly freaking out is an understatement!

Crumbelina · 02/03/2015 20:08

Toots, I get all kinds of strange cramps - some of which definitely feel like AF.

Crumbelina · 02/03/2015 20:11

Cish, have you found much that helps with the nausea? I seem to be mainlining sugar at the moment and I'm not sure how long it'll work for ... Sad

WinterBabyof89 · 02/03/2015 20:18

toots yeah, my cramping is like that sometimes.. I do feel it more on one side though at the minute..
Cramping is very common though because hormones are telling your uterus to begin stretching and preparing for the mass growth that's going to come ha.. If it gets any worse or is accompanied with bleeding see your GP..

cish sorry that you've been hit with nausea.. :(

ann are you going to push for an earlier section given your history?

The earliest I've gone into labour before is 39+3 so doubt they'll give me one earlier but I'm def going to play the anxiety card & try for just gone 38wks.. Unlikely, but DH would like baby out as soon as is safe (I've talked him up from 37wks!) & it's only right I fight for this as DH is such a laid back person who never has strong feelings on anything really ha!

ann ignore my last question.. an early section isn't going to prevent a prem baby is it.. Having a daft moment there!

kep1979 · 02/03/2015 20:36

I had ds1 at 37 weeks, elcs, as fluid restricted, dodgy placenta, narrow pelvic arch and just needing baby out. Ds2 was planned to be another elcs, but i'd persuaded them to let me have it for 39+2 as they usually book in for 39 weeks, so you don't go into labour earlier and end up with an emcs. Which is exactly what happened.

I remember really wanting baby to choose their own birthday, and actually wanting to experience going into labour, as first time round i was nowhere near.

Bit worried about having a gigantic baby this time though (new taller altogether more gorgeous husband) - as ds1 was 9lbs (growth restricted and 3 weeks early) and ds2 was 10lbs (still a week early!). So wonder anout my body's capacity to carry an 11lber!

So another one planning the next section... only (hopefully) less than 35 weeks to go :)

WinterBabyof89 · 02/03/2015 20:43

Omg kep thank goodness you're having a section! 10lbs at a week early is staggering! You can sure grow them well Grin
My DD was a beast compared to my DS at 8lbs1.. I'm hoping this baby will be all lovely and tiny due to arriving sooner but they just seem to get bigger don't they!

Hello! Room for another? Currently 4+5 but terrified that something will go wrong.

Has anyone been able to make a booking appointment? My GP won't schedule anything more than 2 weeks in advance.

roughtyping · 02/03/2015 20:53

Hi Promiscuity :) think I'm 4+5 too. DH phoning GP for me while I'm at work tomorrow. Also terrified of everything going wrong!

ann I laughed at your description of it being like a pancake (although it's really not funny!)
Fx it's in a more suitable place this time around..

We've had our fair share of crappy placentas so only healthy, life giving, correctly positioned ones are welcome on this bus Grin

Welcome promiscuity Daffodil

If you don't laugh you cry! Sometimes I laugh and then begin to cry at the same time.. Like something out of a movie haha.. This might become more frequent with the constant flow of additional hormones.. Ha!
I am otherwise quite a stable person haha..

Early night as DH is away & sky is terrible so off to bed.
Good night all xxx

thank you winter im not complaining though -much- its strangely reassuring really. crumbelina the only thing that helps really is milk or a cup of tea. was also the only thing that helped with the acid i used to get with ds. im guessing once the nausea passes the acid will start. may be time to invest in a cow Grin

AmandaMae · 02/03/2015 22:23

Evening all. I have had the mc terrors today. I must have checked my knickers 20 times, just certain that I was going to see something awful every time. I thought I was doing well at keeping the crazy on a leash, but obviously not.

But here I am - 6+2 and happy to still be here. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, and I'll be feeling optimistic again.

winterbaby I can vouch for fybogel!

Anyway, shortcake biscuit to quell the queasiness and off to bed. May banish beery-smelling DH to spare room - I think the severe smell sensitivity has started. I'll take any symptoms I can get!

Sweet dreams, everyone. Xxx

Mulligrubs · 03/03/2015 06:57

Amanda I keep checking my knickers as well. I was like this when I was pregnant with my son as well!

Anyone else testing every day or is it just me who is a bit mad?Grin I work out I am about 4-5 weeks. But the lines are still quite faint. That is OK, right? I need to stop worrying, if something bad happens it's not like I can stop it!

mrswishywashy · 03/03/2015 07:24

Hi all,

I think joining here might be the place to be as I'm so nervous about this BFP.

My partner and I had five cycles of Iui last year. Am in a same sex relationship so need donor sperm however during investigations found that I have low fertility. This was our first cycle of ivf and it's been quite intense with all the scans and injections, still taking progesterone now. We had two embryos put back a eight and six cell put back as day threes on 17/2.

I started getting really nauseous and tired last Monday so tested last Tuesday and got a faint positive. Have tested everyday since and Sunday got 1-2 weeks on a digital. Today was official test day so will call clinic in a bit and book in first scan, so hoping all is ok. Won't book in with gp until after scan.

Due date will be 7/11. So very nervous.

WinterBabyof89 · 03/03/2015 07:30

Welcome mrs and congrats!
You've worked bloody hard for that bfp!
