Hello all!

I had been briefly on the October thread but had a scan this morning putting my EDD at 3/11 instead of 31/10 making me 6+3 instead of 6+6. As a result, I think I would rather hang around with you November lot!

Scan was all good, momentarily reassuring although I am sure I will return to worrying in due course Grin

They offer something called the Harmony Test that seems like an enhanced blood screening for chromosome disorders, has anyone had this? If so, do you think it is worth the money?

AmandaMae · 13/03/2015 12:19

Here been struggling with nausea, which has intensified over the last couple of days. Didn't make it into work yesterday, and went to see my GP to see if he'd prescribe something. He gave me cyclizine - anyone got any experience of that? I've only taken three doses for far, and I think it's taking the edge off, but not as much as I'd hoped. How long do I need to give it?

LadyStark I'm going for the harmony test in three weeks. I'm booked into the Fetal Medicine Centre in central London. They charge £400 for a scan at 10 weeks, the blood test, and then a follow up scan when you return for the blood results at 12 weeks. If you don't get a result they will do the test again for free, and if you get a high risk result, and decide to follow up with an amnio or CVS, they will also do that for free. I'm 43, and the peace of mind will be worth the money.

Welcome all newbies!!!

BleachedBarnet · 13/03/2015 12:22

Thanks all for the advice, think my best bet is to open the capsules and stir it into a bit of natural yogurt or something. Still no symptoms here! 5 weeks today Smile

Welcome and congratulations to all the new members! Flowers

Glad to hear the good news toots x

TwoBeesInTheHive · 13/03/2015 13:21

Candles I think we have the same edd Grin pretty sure mine is 23rd

LadyStark · 13/03/2015 13:58

AmandaMae - that's where I was for my scan this morning. I am only 27 (well, 28 next week) and last time around just had the regular NHS tests. Now she's put the idea into my head though I feel like I should have it done for peace of mind.

Candlesonthetable · 13/03/2015 14:06

TwoBees I'm trying not to get my hopes too high, it's still such early days! I'm pretty much still expecting my period to arrive on Sunday!

BowiesJumper · 13/03/2015 15:05

When does morning sickness start usually? I'm feeling really peaky and nauseous today but I don't know if it's a bug or because I'm pregnant. (Wishful thinking?)

Focusfocus · 13/03/2015 17:05

Bowies, I haven't had any yet and you and I are the same stage aren't we? My mum never had any traditional symptoms either. My chief symptoms have been fatigue fatigue fatigue. Followed by gassiness (DH disagrees this is oregnancy related) sore nipples and really deep breathing and feeling breathless. No sickness means am being able to eat healthily in these first few crucial weeks. Not complaining, mjust worry sometimes as to why am not being sick!

FlossyLil · 13/03/2015 17:16

Have had nausea this week since Monday, but no sickness and hope it stays that way, but am ravenously hungry. Am 6 weeks tomorrow. Just trying to eat healthily and have healthy snacks and that seems to help, as tend to feel the nausea when hungry. Am being naughty tonight and having a takeaway. Can't see the harm in some treats! Smile Also like Focus have felt pretty tired too. Think it varies so much between different people.

BowiesJumper · 13/03/2015 17:17

I googled and read it can start from 6wks - something to look forward to!

I'm eating some hula hoops which is making me feel better anyway (I'll have lots of veg tonight to make up for it!!).

This is the latest I've been up this week.....hope I won't suffer for it tomorrow!

Still not feeling very sick but only 4+4. Am
ravenous though and very, very tired and windy!

stace1986 · 14/03/2015 00:15

Is anyone suffering with cramps? I am in a lot of pain this evening, woken me up and now I can't sleep. No bleeding so I am trying not to worry. The pain is like really bad period pain :( first pregnancy so not sure if this is normal!

reb2g08 · 14/03/2015 05:36

Stace this is normal it happened to me the other day it's the sign of your uterus getting bigger!

orangebud · 14/03/2015 06:50

Morning All.

stace1986 - I'm only 6 weeks, but had lots of cramps / pulling sensations throughout week 4 (morning noon and night) and no bleeding. Seems to have stopped now.

Just about to head out for my first run / jog since getting the BFP. I've been nervous of the movement affecting the uterus and dislodging the comfy baby to be. Silly I know, but I can't help it. Dr says it is fine so off I go. Any other runners in the group?

BowiesJumper · 14/03/2015 06:58

Yes I run too. Although haven't since my bfp. And because I'm spotting I'm nervous to dislodge anything too! I'm told spotting is nothing to worry about but still!
Might go for a run later today because I have been missing it!

I'm 5+5 today and so far I've had stomach cramps for about 2 weeks now. Nothing really painful apart from a couple of twinges here and there but assume it's just growing pains. I'll mention it to my doctor when I see them this week.

Otherwise think I'm still in a state of shock/disbelief!

orangebud · 14/03/2015 07:46

bowiesjumper - a very gentle 2 miles later and I feel great. Will maybe increase a little over the next week. I want to try and keep it up before any morning sickness starts and knocks me for six. Hope your run goes well!

TheTravellingLemon · 14/03/2015 08:02

I think the main rule of exercise is if you did it before pregnancy then it should be fine to do it during.

My birthday is on the 26th, my DS is on the 23rd and DH is on the 2nd. This one's due on the 9th. It's going to be one hell of a month! We were supposed to be having a big party for DS this year as it's an important birthday in our religion. Don't know what we're going to do now. Plan it all before the baby is born and then let someone else take over on the day? I've got time to think about it.

bugoven · 14/03/2015 08:42

Thank you gobbol for adding baby #2 (and 3? Twin? 3 under 18 months? Arrgh!) to the list for me.

stace I seemed to be constantly cramping in my pregnancy and DS is 6 months so definitely normal Smile

travel my bday is 14th so could be in for a very busy November too. I love that time of year with halloween, fireworks and chilly weather bringing out cosy jumpers.

Crumbelina · 14/03/2015 09:28

Weeeeeee - I have a grey blurry splodge with a heartbeat!

Had my early scan yesterday evening and everything's good so far. I was measuring 7+3 instead of 7+6 and splodge has a heartbeat of 160bpm. Not sure if that means I stick to 8 weeks today or if I need to track back a few days? Maybe the former so I can hope the nausea will go sooner Smile

Bugger me, it's nerve-wracking when you first see the screen and you're staring into a black hole with nothing in it! It takes a while to find the bean sometimes - mine seemed to be hiding.

After the scan we moved out of the in-laws (still keeping bean secret) and into our own home! It's a complete building site and we're pretty much living in one room but it's ours and I don't have to hide my nausea. All we have to do now is knock down half the house and rebuild it by October and we'll be fine - ahem. I feel a bit overwhelmed, but we'll muddle through.

Phew, not a bad Friday 13th as things go. Smile

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

stace1986 · 14/03/2015 09:42

Thank you reb2g08, bugoven and orangebud, thats put me at ease. Still like it today though not as severe :)
