Having posted last week when I got my BFP, I think I'm finally over the shock!! Grin

Saw GP this morning and got my paperwork and have booked midwife appt for a few weeks time. I had GD in last pregnancy so suspect I'll get that again, so trying to cut down on carbs and sugar already...Sad along with alcohol and coffee... it's killing me!

Don't think I put full stats on last time, Smicha, 35, DC2, EDD 15th Nov.

Focusfocus · 11/03/2015 15:29

Welcome Flossy! Am exactly the same EDD as you! And I think bowies is also the same or very near!

Well, today I got a call from my community midwife (exciting!!) when I was waiting for my train in to work. she said my scan letter is already in the post and the scan is at 9:20 am on 24th April which is just 1 day shy of completing 12 weeks so 11 + 6. We are having a private scan next week at 7 weeks so hope can see something positive soon :) she also said the letter for the booking appointment is going out soon and that will be before 24th April. And she gave me her mobile number and that I can contact her with any queries and if she isn't around showed me how to flag messages for her at the local GP surgery. She sounded really lovelyly :)

So that's my news. I tentatively say that nausea and sickness haven't shown up yet although I have super dark tests that are literally appearing before i have finished the wee dipping exercise. Fingers crossed the bean is ok! How's everyone else doing? Anyone getting early scans? Am getting mine in St Albans next week as it's cheaper than London ones and it's kinda halfway between London and where I live.

Still managing to eat healthy I'd say including lots of water, folate rich foods, 5 a day, whole carbs, good proteins, a basic amount of milk and dairy ladidadida. But not sure what to do when cravings and nausea hit though.

Oh and a thought for those of you who don't like eating fruit as in fruit salads or pieces of fruit. Supermarkets do frozen smoothie mixes for 2 quid lasts a week - whizzed up with water and OJ is really lovely. I am doing the mango, kiwi, pineapple topical fruit smoothie mix just take a handful out of the freezer and whizz up with water and juice. Yum. Sorry random, just wanted to throw it for those trying to net their 2 of 5 a day writing actually eating fruit all the time.

ReeRee86 · 11/03/2015 15:33

toots I am so pleased to hear that the little heart was beating.

When I had my scan yesterday the lady said I was looking around 5+6 which is less than I thought (officially meant to be 7 today but I actually think I am about 6+3 due to late ovulation) I asked her if it was a problem that I seemed to be behind and she said that at this stage they are dealing with the smallest measurements and it was also down to operator interpretation. She moved the probe and said "there look, from this angle I would say 6+1"

Sorry for the waffling but I hope you get what i'm trying to say!! There is a heart beat and that is great news, try not to read to much into the measurements.

Rest up and take care of yourself and the little blip Flowers

Dixiebell · 11/03/2015 15:51

Would it be bad form to start asking if anyone has thought about names yet?! I know, I know, too early. But having gone through it twice already I wonder if anyone has names that they have their heart set on already? As I said I have two boys, so I do have various girls' names in reserve that have never been used. DH and I both wanted Betty, but while I've been producing boys left right and centre, my sister has recently had a girl called Betsy, so don't think we can go for that any more. Might be a bit much in one family. Anyway it is bound to be DS3, isn't it?! Smile

Focusfocus · 11/03/2015 16:01

Yep! Ours will have Indian first name British middle name Double-Barrell last name reflecting Indian mum British dad both have own last names.

So - to give an example (this isn't the real name) - it could be something like

Shriya Alicia Smith-Mukherjee for a girl OR

Raaj Arthur Brown-Bose for a boy

:)

Phew for the heartbeat, Toots. Look after yourself.

I've not had much to say for myself the last week or so, feeling pretty rough now at 6+5. Really tired, struggling to stay awake through the day and pukey off and on. I know it's a good sign but oof, I am already done with sleeping and constantly eating to stave off the voms.

Just plucking up the courage to book an early scan for a couple of weeks time. I have to go to Germany for a week to work in week 11 and I want to make sure all is as well as it can be before I go. I'm really not looking forward to it - remember from my pregnancy with DS that I just wanted to be at home.

Here are my stats

Tinymrscollings, 33, DC2, EDD 31/10 (sorry, not strictly November but October was rammed by the time I got there)

Crumbelina · 11/03/2015 16:45

Good news there's a heartbeat! Take care if yourself Toots

Focus, you're putting me to shame with your diet! I've felt so queasy that barely a piece of fruit or veg has passed my lips over the past week or so. In fact, I've just eaten a load of mini-eggs as I'm really flagging at work. Blush. I'm taking the vitamins and hopefully they'll be enough until I perk up a bit.

Crumbelina · 11/03/2015 16:49

Not to worry Tiny - there's a few of us October DD ladies here - me included. I was a late tester at 19 DPO as I couldn't bear the thought of another BFN. Like you say, by the time I got the BFP the October bus was packed to the front doors and the driver wasn't stopping.

Tinymrscollings · 11/03/2015 16:54

In the spirit of making everyone feel better about their diet, I ate three custard doughnuts yesterday. I would have had four but I ran out of places in the office to eat them without revealing my gluttony to my colleagues - one at my desk, one in the kitchen, one in the store area

Not my usual style at all, I'm really strict about my diet usually ??????

Crumbelina · 11/03/2015 16:59

bugoven · 11/03/2015 17:20

LOL at tiny's donut antics. I've been folowing a calorie counting type diet for a week or so and just got BFP last night. Really want to carry on, I had a stone of baby weight from DS1 to lose and fairly high BMI. Would be good to not be high risk for booking in. Not sure I would be harming babybug2 by doing this =/

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 11/03/2015 17:30

I'll add myself tonight. Am voraciously starving and lugging around a 1 and a 2 year old is making me feel weak with low blood sugar already Confused. We went to our usual music class this morning and I had to eat a Mars bar when we got in as felt a bit faint - not a habit I want to get into

I'm about a stone overweight and contemptlating doing slimming world online as heard good things about it. That said, I still remember the horrors of how I felt in the first 12 weeks with DS and basically could only stomach white carbs and ice lollies.

Tinymrscollings · 11/03/2015 17:39

Ooh, a Mars Bar..

Crumbelina · 11/03/2015 17:41

Mmm, white carbs ... Smile

FlossyLil · 11/03/2015 17:44

Gobbolin - quick tip for low blood sugar. The little packs of raisins are only about 40cals, and make you feel good cos their healthy at the same time Smile.

I lost going on about a stone the last few months from healthy eating and upping the exercise (didn't want to cut back too much with TTC), and desperate not to get into too many bad habits again. But that might go out the window if the pukeyness starts. So far felt only a little sick on the odd day.

Just added myself below:-

After a day which consisted of a pizza slice, three slice of white toast (two with Nutella) and a bar of Galaxy, I did omelette and veg. Except the veg was slathered in butter and mayo. Must do better!

AmandaMae · 11/03/2015 18:02

Just had to get off the train at South Ken to vomit in a bag. Just like old times...

And of course Blush

Crumbelina · 11/03/2015 18:11

Ah, Unthought - that makes me feel so much better. Smile

Oh no, Amanda! Hope you feel better. If anyone sees a woman vomming on the concourse at Waterloo that'll probably be me.

I have however sourced my special bag with no suffocation holes (just in case). Fired Earth - how very middle class. Smile

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 11/03/2015 18:28

flossy - my DH is a dentist and won't let raisins across the threshold Grin. I will need to eat in secret.

I'm really impressed with you losing a stone.

Giggling at the Fired Earth bag!

reb2g08 · 11/03/2015 18:41

Hope you're feeling ok now Amanda! I've been having mad mood swings crying and shouting Blush anyone else?

roughtyping · 11/03/2015 19:05

toots thinking of you, hope you manage to rest
