Good luck reeree I've got everything crossed for you!

AmandaMae · 10/03/2015 14:54

kep I was 37 when pg with my son, and only did the NHS tests that annbag describes. My score came out as extremely low risk so I didn't go any further and I don't think the NHS offer any more than that unless they find something worrying. However, this time round I'm 43 (sweet baby Jesus, what am I thinking?) and nervous. So I figured I'd do as much as possible to evaluate the risks, and the Harmony test is apparently more accurate / reliable. If your results come back high risk, the Fetal Medicine Centre (which is where I'm going) will do your CVS / amnio for free if you decide to do that. And early confirmation of gender? It's almost worth the price just for that!

There was a little heart beating away and all looks great! She could see no reason why I'm bleeding and said it's very common so I should stop worrying!

Thank you all for your messages you lovely lot!!

Crumbelina · 10/03/2015 19:14

TakesTwoToTango · 10/03/2015 19:29

Filling news reeree! Good luck for your early scans hale and crumbelina! I'm a bit envious as it's ages for me to wait until I can even think of a scan (4+3 today).

TakesTwoToTango · 10/03/2015 19:30

Filling?!?!?!? I meant brilliant!

MamaGotABrandNewBag · 10/03/2015 19:36

Fab news ReeRee :) I've booked an early scan this morning too, 27th March. Also got my booking appointment on 1st April

BowiesJumper · 10/03/2015 19:40

Hurray Ree! Tremendous news.

I can't wait for my scan, I'm so impatient. Not sure I can justify an early private one though. We'll see!

orangebud · 10/03/2015 19:51

Great news ReeRee!

Just back from my first GP appointment at 5+2. It seems I will have monthly checks there and not be called for a scan until week 14. Not sure I can wait that long! Might get a private appointment.

On a different subject - when is everyone telling their employer the pregnancy news?

halestone · 10/03/2015 19:52

eurgh i am starting to feel alot of nausea i have everything crossed that this isn't the beginning of HG. Although i did lose 2 stone last time i was pregnant and could do with losing well more this time.

reb2g08 · 10/03/2015 19:58

Congrats ReeRee so pleased for you. Would love an early scan, might just have to! I am going to tell my employer a week before scan to request time off I think but just telling the headteacher on a need to know basis!

BowiesJumper · 10/03/2015 20:03

I was thinking of telling them after I know all is well after my scan at 12wks. I'll just say the booking in at 8wks is a normal dr's appointment.
I don't do lifting or anything in my job so should be fine!
