I must have been carrying all your positivity with me - everything is looking great! The sac is high on the uterus, which is good apparently. I also saw Sticky McStickster's little heartbeat going like the clappers - 156bpm, which the sonographer said was great. I had a little weep of relief - I know it's not a done deal, but it feels like an important milestone to me. In my incessant googling, it seems like the risk of mc decreases significantly once a strong fetal hb is detected at 6 - 7 weeks. Measuring 6+3 rather than 6+6, and this is a right ovary baby.

Heading home now (don't work on Fridays) to call my parents and tell them the good news. So excited! Then grocery shopping for the week ahead - not so exciting whilst feeling queasy. But hey, I'll take the ms!

Lots of love to you all - hope all having early scans have similar good results.

CishAndFips · 06/03/2015 11:30

thats excellent news amanda so pleasedfor you.

Crumbelina · 06/03/2015 11:46

Oh wow - that's amazing news Amanda - I'm so happy for you!! Flowers. It must be so reassuring and a fab start to a warm sunny weekend!

I had my scan booked for 9+6 but I'm now tempted to bring it forward to 7+6 as I'm too impatient and really want to find out if everything's ok! It would make it Friday 13th (umm) but I did pass my driving test on that date ...

Constipation is thankfully gone. I worked too late yesterday to make it to Boots for Fymogel so I glugged a lot of Lactulose. That certainly worked. Blush

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 06/03/2015 12:22

Can I sign up?

BFP last night. Day AF was due. Trying for over a year with a MC in the middle. I am a crazy bAg of nerves. I can't maintain this level of panic for another 8 weeks I will drive myself over the edge!

Aww lovely news amanda I bet it was so lovely to see that little heartbeat!

I'm back from my dr's appointment after my bit of bleeding. As lovely as she was (I have just moved to the surgery so not met her before) she seemed very keen to keep telling me that "miscarriage is very common". She must have said it 6 times in the 10 minutes I was there! She did however say that she is not concerned by what I have described but the I should call the local EPU if anything changes. I'm sure I can't refer myself though but hoping I won't need it anyway!

Hope the rest of you are doing ok, why does every day feel like a week?!

AmandaMae · 06/03/2015 14:01

Thanks, ladies. It was indeed lovely to see that little heart thundering away. But here's the thing - I'm back to knicker-watch anyway! But at least not what ThinkAboutItTomorrow (welcome, BTW!) calls a crazy bag of nerves, which is where I've been for weeks. That feel like yyyyyyeeeeeeeaaaaaaarrrrrrrssssssss.

Thanks Annbag - I didn't know why that was a good thing. And Reeree, I'm sure you're fine. A high percentage of women have spotting during pg, and walk away with a beautiful healthy baby. I'm sure you'll be one of them.

Enjoy this gorgeous weather!

kep1979 · 06/03/2015 15:28

Oh that's great news amanda - I cannot wait until my early scan - it's two weeks tomorrow, I'll be 7+1, and hopefully if all goes well my stress levels will start to decrease a bit

reeree every day does indeed feel like a week. I'm running out of things to google too Smile

I did the spacefm thing - My EDD is 6 November - apparently I am having a girl, on 4 November at 11.10am, weighing 9lb 10oz. The chinese gender thing also said a girl. I am expecting to have an elcs a week before my due date - and my youngest son was 10lb a week early (and my new dh is 3 inches taller than my ex) so I am expecting a BIG baby.

Took my mind off being stressed though Smile

smicha · 06/03/2015 18:42

Hi everyone, I haven't RTFT yet but can I join please? Got BFP today Grin EDD is 15th November!

It will be DC2 and I think I'm still in shock...happy shock though!

orangebud · 06/03/2015 19:15

Hi all. I'd like to join. I haven't read all the previous posts but will try to keep track of everyone from now on.

I got the BFP on Monday Shock. Have been trying for 6 months, but it seemed like years!

Stats - 35, baby#1, EDD 08 Nov (or 11 Nov depending what site I use - have tried several Grin)

Have booked in for a GP appointment on Tuesday. Keeping my fingers crossed everything will be okay.

mrswishywashy · 06/03/2015 19:19

When is best to book in with GP? I think with my GP we just go right to midwifes at hospital. I am due my follow up scan (Ill be eight weeks) at ivf clinic on March 24th and then was going to get in contact with midwifes if all was ok. But it seems most of you book In really early.

Mulligrubs · 06/03/2015 20:08

Aw Amanda that's great!

I had to see my GP to get referred to the midwives mrswishywashy so I saw my GP today. Probably will be another week or 2 before 1st midwife appointment when I'll be around 8 weeks. Then waiting for the scan letter! So maybe speak to your GP surgery and see when they say you should referSmile

ShortLashes · 06/03/2015 21:57

Hi all and welcome to Smicha, Orangbud and all the new passengers! Great news about your scan Amanda.

wishywashy I agree with Mulli- speak to your surgery to find out what the process is. Mine booked me in with a GP for next week by which time I will be 6 weeks. I'm hoping they will explain the next steps then! It will be my first time there as have recently moved, so fingers crossed for a positive NHS experience!

Possible TMI coming up...

One of the first things I noticed was damp knickers before I got my BFP (at about 4+2) and I've noticed it most days since. It's not a visible discharge and no smell.... Google suggests this is nothing to worry about but just wondered if anyone else had the same thing?

mrscatmad31 · 07/03/2015 08:10

Hi, I've just found out I'm pregnant with my first baby, excited but scared! I'm 5 weeks pregnant Smile

Gandalfthegreige · 07/03/2015 08:24

Congrats amanda, must be a big relief to see little bean's hb ticking away nice and strong. I've got an early reassurance scan next week- half terrified something will be up, half excited!

Welcome and congrats MrsCatMad! I too am expecting my first baby, this is my first pregnancy as well and am 5 weeks and 1 day! It's come as a shock as I planned a February conception for work reasons and the pink lines came up the very first month and left me ina. Perpetual state of knicker watch :(

We are having a private scan at 7 weeks, which. Seems aggggggges away! How are you feeling? Any symptoms? Mine were cramps and destructive fatigue at the start and a very sore right nipple. Now cramps only on rare occasions, sore nipples and feeling out of breath.

Oh and made my own boob and belly body butter this morning it's so gorgeous!!!

Lemondrizzletwunt · 07/03/2015 09:22

Ooh focus how? I want to do that too!

mrscatmad31 · 07/03/2015 10:23

Thanks for the welcome Smile
I'm booked in with the midwife on the 24th, still feel like someone is going to turn round and say I made a mistake and I'm not pregnant, lol!
We only got married in December but I'm nearly 31 and didn't want to wait anymore to have a baby

Focusfocus · 07/03/2015 10:30

Home-made body butter recipe -

  1. Buy from Amazon - 200 gms each of cocoa butter and Shea butter
  2. Get hold of 100 ml each of coconut oil and olive oil

Chuck it all in a pan. Heat for 5 mins till it all melts. Pour into a bowl/mug and stick in freezer till it's semi solid. Watch tv or have a shower in the time it takes to become semi solid.

Whisk it up! Hand blender is great, I used regular blender.

That's it. Stick in a jar of your choice and leave by your shower. Lather on. It keeps forever :)

Mulligrubs · 07/03/2015 11:34

The lines on my tests are getting darker, it is a good sign right? Top pic was 7 days ago, middle pic was 4 days ago, bottom pic is today? Sorry I am being super paranoid!

halestone · 07/03/2015 11:52

Congratulations to everyone has got their BFPs. Welcome to the knicker checking brigade. Grin

Amanda yay for a lovely scan Grin

Mulli i would say that was a positive sign.

Everyone who has sickness this time i had HG last time but have only vomited a couple of times this time, but i am putting that down to my chest infection as i am only sick after a coughing session. It did only start at 8 weeks last time so i am not counting my chickens yet.

I went to my GP as soon as i found out but also git referred straight to the EPAU, as they thought i was further along LMP 5.01.15 and i was bleeding.
