Kep i think Paracetamol is the only thing which is safe to take in pregnancy. I also use to put my feet into a bowl of cold water when i had migraines in the past, it helps a little. I am also on special migraine medicine which i can't take whilst pregnant and paracetamol doesn't help.

Crumbelina · 05/03/2015 16:23

Sorry to hear about your Papa Rough Flowers

Hope everyone's well today? I'm usually consumed with thoughts about nausea and wishing it would go away but I've changed my tune yet again and am thankful for it. I woke up at 5am this morning with really bad cramps and thought I was having a miscarriage. I lay there for a good hour not wanting to disturb DH (or the in-laws in the bedroom next door) and finally plucked up the courage to go to the loo for a nervous wipe. No blood and I'm wondering if my constipation has got so bad that it could be the cause?

I've taken few doses of Lactulose and so far nothing has happened. Even my fail safe method of a Pret Latte and berry/granola compote hasn't made a difference - sorry, TMI Blush. I guess I'll go seek out some prune juice or some Fybogel.

TakesTwoToTango · 05/03/2015 16:35

cumbelina poor you that sounds uncomfy. Sounds like you may have identified the problem though! Hope it eases soon. Appals for tmi, but I wonder also if you maybe had a full bladder? I know I've been told before that the uterus is quite sensitive in early pg and you can get uncomfy if you need a wee!

Crumbelina · 05/03/2015 17:03

Thanks TakesTwo! I did have a wee which eased things a bit and it did die down. I also got the javelin up the bottom feeling (accurately described by one MNer) and so it did reassure me that it could be constipation.

Oh the joys of pregnancy (said by every pregnant women. Ever).

Good to know everyone else is worrying. Counting down the days to first scan on March 24th, hoping to see heart beat. Have had to go put my order in for five more boxes of progesterone today. Can't imagine putting pressurise three times a day for the next eight weeks but hopefully it's helping little embie. I'm quite tired, boobs hurt on and off amd get a bit crampy if I do too much. Looking like I'll start work next week or week after, have not worked throughout treatment at the beginning of February so reluctant to work in case anything goes wrong. Very busy on this thread, I'll try to keep up.

AmandaMae · 05/03/2015 18:54

Crumbelina, I was exactly the same last week. Very painful - at one point I could hardly walk! I was practically whimpering in Boots. But really, fybogel did the trick for me, so I hope it does for you. Poor thing.

Rough, so sorry about your loss. It is very sad-making. So many are having a really difficult start to the year (myself included).

Just about to shovel my queasy self full of pasta - for someone who loves but shuns carbs, that is a rare treat. Medicinal purposes, you understand...

And tomorrow is my early scan - really hoping to see Sticky McStickster's little heart beating away! Really hoping I've got some good news coming. I think I've had my three bad things....

TakesTwoToTango · 05/03/2015 19:48

Good luck for tomorrow amanda!

WinterBabyof89 · 05/03/2015 20:01

Ahh, I remember you saying it was this week, Amanda and I was wondering if you'd had it. Good luck tomorrow - I'll be thinking of you! Smile

AmandaMae · 05/03/2015 20:40

Thanks so much all! It's lovely to have so much support, especially since we're trying not to tell anyone.

But I am absolutely flattened tonight - early night methinks. Sweet dreams, ladies! Xxx

AmandaMae · 05/03/2015 20:52

Hey, just before I hit the sack, I was rechecking the odds of mc on spacefem and found a baby predictor. Apparently I'm having a girl!

Check it out - spacefem.com/pregnant/predictor/predict.php

Will be funny to see how many predictions (if any) turn out to be right!

halestone · 05/03/2015 21:45

I posted under the wrong username I normally go by wtfishappening.

Stroan · 05/03/2015 22:26

Congratulations to you all on your lovely BFPs!

Can I very cautiously join in?

Had a hoped for, but very, very unexpected BFP on Monday. I was so busy analysing my cycle to figure out if I'd ovulated that I missed the pregnancy symptoms!

It's my first pregnancy, I'm 4+5 today and think my due date will be 11th Nov. I've spent this week wondering if I'm STILL pregnant, trying not to tell everyone and madly googling to figure out what I'm supposed to do.

Hoping that mumsnet will distract me from announcing it to everyone I see!

BowiesJumper · 05/03/2015 22:49

Hey Stroan, welcome! I'm 4+5 today too.

It feels like aggggges (well 6 or 7 weeks) before an appointment or scan. Hope yours goes well tomorrow Amanda.

AmandaMae · 06/03/2015 08:16

Pregnancy time is the opposite of dog years....I've only known for three weeks, but I would swear it's months. Just remember that every day the chance of something going wrong gets smaller and smaller - crumbelina's post of the risk of cm decreasing has been really helpful to me.

Off to take DS1 to school and then get ready for scan. FX...

tootsroots · 06/03/2015 09:43

Morning Team Novies, FX for your scan amanda what type of scan is it?
Welcome Stroan! Congrats !!!
I am down for one on on the 26th but will only be 8 weeks. the Drs think i am more like 12 given my last LMP was 31st Dec so maybe thats why it is so early!

I had my first proper nausea last night, had tapas with the girls ( try eating that with being accused of being pregnant when avoiding cold meats, too much salt, tuna, suspect cheese and fried food without people noticing , its all about croquettes and potatoes - i said it was due to Slimming world.. partly true... only i have stopped going!) and then on the train platform after, i almost chucked up, proper retching, no warning and luckily no people to witness it! I have now suddenly gone off the idea of eating, i simply dont want to eat or open the fridge or walk into a shop.

Today i feel like deaths door and am a giant puffy mess. Work thinks i had the heaviest nightout ever - i have not denied it..for once i dont mind if they think i am drinking too much on a school night! How times have changed!

Anyone suddenly overcome with nausea?

halestone · 06/03/2015 09:47

Congratulations new BFPsThanks

Toots no, not yet but I remember it happening suddenly last time.

I had also forgot from last time the permanent muggy headache which paracetamol doesn't help. It stops at some point but I can't remember when.

roughtyping · 06/03/2015 10:06

Good luck today amanda, please let us know how it goes!

Thanks all for your thoughts Flowers

Have absolutely lost it this morning over the state of the house, DH is lucky he's at work Angry I am fuming!!!

Have my first GP app this afternoon, think it'll be a bit of a non-event really but feel like I should be doing 'something'. Think I'm 5+2, will see what GP says (same GP I had with DS, feels like forever ago!).

Still googling MC etc, need to stop. Worry about every little twinge, so glad I'm not alone. Flowers

Welcome and congrats to all the new BFPs Smile

kep1979 · 06/03/2015 10:46
