We are already nearing the halfway point! Some of us have already reached the 20 weeks, the rest will follow suit. Let the countdowns begin!

Here is the stats list, please update them with your scan dates and the sex of you baby (if you know it):

Found you!

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 16/02/2015 20:50

Hellooo!

fattymcfatfat · 16/02/2015 21:50

Grin hi

WiIdfire · 17/02/2015 03:07

What number thread is this? 7? 8? We've been quite chatty :-)

Threeplus1 · 17/02/2015 04:12

Marking my place! Thanks for the new thread. I should be sleeping by now, but with DH snoring his head off beside me and my nervous excitement about the anomaly/sex scan tomorrow morning I just can't sleep Confused

LaLaLaaaa · 17/02/2015 05:45

Place marking!

Zampa · 17/02/2015 07:26

20 week scan on Thursday! Also nervous, far more so than I was expecting.

Does anyone else have suspicions about the due date they've been given? I think mine's too early and wondered if it was worth asking them to check it. I was a long baby so this one might be as well.

Naturegirl82 · 17/02/2015 08:37

Checking in.

Could someone post a link to the new thread on the old one please. I can't do it as on the app.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 17/02/2015 08:37

I think mine is too early too Zampa but I'm not sure they change it after 12 weeks as that's the most accurate time to measure. The same happened last time, according to their dates DD was 6 days late but bang in time according to mine. I think the only reason it would matter is that they suggest inducing at around 10-12 days overdue and it might be that if your due date is too early then baby might just not be ready yet. However you don't have to agree to induction and could just be monitored instead. I generally just go by the theory that you have a due 'month' and the date they give is just for admin/monitoring purposes rather than anything else. Definitely worth asking though and see what they say.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 17/02/2015 08:39

I thought my anomaly scan was on Thursday but DH just informed me it's tomorrow, oops!

beakerandburette · 17/02/2015 09:14

Place Marking. Private scan on Sunday at 18 +4. Eeeek! Been super busy with DD think she has hit terrible two's at 11mo... Hmm fun times...

Zampa · 17/02/2015 10:51

Thanks GotToBe. I'm keen not to be induced so it's good to know that you can be monitored instead. To be fair, it's probably only 4 days or so out and fingers crossed we won't get to the point of induction.

Thepurplegiraffe · 17/02/2015 11:28

Checking in, thanks for the new thread!

jmojo · 17/02/2015 12:09

Yeah, I have worked at several hospitals (I did agency mwfery for a while) and they all did something slightly different with dates. Every place agreed 12 wk scan most accurate and would certainly take dating from this over other scans. Some wouldn't changed your edd unless the scan was a week over/under your LMP due date, others changed it for 3 or more days difference. It also depends in how sure you are of your LMP. But gotto is right really it is a due month and babies are classed as term after 37 weeks. We even had them on the ward from 34 wks if they were good weights and doing well! Really dates only matter for induction. And yhay varies like mad too!

Number3cometome · 17/02/2015 12:55

Checking in - thanks for doing this Fattycow

18+2 over here with little boy.

Feeling lots of movement, some days very weak, some days stronger.

Certainly not as active as DD was (she was DC2)

This is DC3.

20 week scan on the 5th March.

Feeling much better at the moment, nausea has faded, sickness stopped and certainly not as tired / spotty / moody.

broodylicious · 17/02/2015 15:35

Marking place xx

Zampa · 17/02/2015 16:32

Thanks for due date advice jmojo. I had 2 "12" week scans, one by the NHS and the other as part of my Harmony test. The latter put me three days behind the former (12th versus 9th) which is weird as the scans were 3 days apart too.

If I need to be induced I'm going to go by the later date which I'm guessing will take me to the 26th... FX it will all happen naturally before then.

Fleurchamp · 17/02/2015 16:55

Had my midwife appointment, all good and I heard the heartbeat Grin

So glad to have that reassurance although it's really weird that the midwife said that he/she was moving lots - and I can't feel a thing!

Clstow · 17/02/2015 17:10

Glad all went well Fleur. Can't wait for mine on Fri.

I'm now 17+3 and thought I felt movement yesterday - like butterflies, actually made me wonder what I was feeling nervous about, then realised it's maybe the baby. Or would I feel more certain if it was movement?

MuddyWellyNelly · 17/02/2015 17:16

Congrats on hearing the heartbeat, it made me feel very emotional but not cry as I appear to be an pregnancy ice maiden

It's weird isn't it re the movement. I am only getting through pregnancy by focusing on the next thing/appointment/stage. Having heard the HB last week, I'm now obsessed about starting to feel movement.

thatsoccerchick · 17/02/2015 17:19

I had a similar question to movement that was asked in the last thread, but it seems like it's different for everyone. I had been feeling something like felt like someone was kicking me in the bits, or in my butt, but haven't felt it for the past 2 days. I'm also a FTM, so no idea what to expect. But I'm also 18w tomorrow, so maybe too early.

Have any of the moms with previous babies done prenatal yoga beforehand? Did it help - either with symptoms or birth? I really miss my weekly class but it got to be too much for me, so I'm starting a prenatal class next week.

BadIdeaBear · 17/02/2015 17:51

Talking of movement, as we are, I was playing some Bach in my office this afternoon (not particularly my normal choice of classics but I thought I'd start on the Mozart Effect training... hehehe) my little bubba appeared to dance. There was definitely increased jiggles. Will have to experiment further! Doesn't seem to jiggle when I sing but...

broodylicious · 17/02/2015 18:25

soccer, yes I did preggo yoga and yes it definitely helped in labour and birth. In fact, I'd go as far to say that it helped me have the birth I wanted (minus the water) with no drugs, gas or air! In our class, it wasn't so much about movements and exercise as breathing techniques and positions that would help us to have an active birth (it hurts far less if you can be active, not lay on your back like the tv shows, and can control your breathing properly).

Re movements. I saw my mw today and she said that women are so hung up on when/what etc, they can miss tiny movements and then panic themselves silly no shit, Sherlock. The only time you need to worry, according to her, is if you've not felt anything by 24 weeks. Even with second/third baby, it's common not to feel anything until past 22 weeks. She's a v positive mw and right now, that positivity is exactly what I need!

Naturegirl82 · 17/02/2015 18:32

thats I did pregnancy yoga last time as well. It does help with learning breathing techniques. I've got a dvd this time to do it at home but if it's not great I'll go to a class a bit nearer due date.

Had a lovely minibreak last night and feel very relaxed after a pregnancy massage this morning. Smile

Luckystar82 · 17/02/2015 18:40

Marking my place on new thread

I feel pregnant for first time today. My belly appears to have popped out and looks pregnant rather than just fat! Haven't really been feeling the pregnant vibes til today at work when bump started aching towards end of day and felt quite nice strangely! But I have a long commute to work by train, so am getting a bit worried about how ill manage at 35 weeks!

19w+1 today!

Scan on 25th feb, no movements that I recognise as baby (possibly bubbles but may just be wind!)

For those interested in our fraud saga, 5 other flats we know of in our small block have had exactly same thing happen in past fortnight. I can't believe the audacity and success rate of the fraudster! The police can't believe it either. All through stolen post. The criminal has either been tampering with our letter boxes or it's an inside job someone who works at Royal Mail.
