We are already nearing the halfway point! Some of us have already reached the 20 weeks, the rest will follow suit. Let the countdowns begin!

Here is the stats list, please update them with your scan dates and the sex of you baby (if you know it):

Anyone else's baby head down all ready? This little one is nestled down with head below the placenta (which was ap and slightly low but as head all ready below it they aren't worried so no more scans). DD was head down entire pregnancy as well so wonder if it's just the way my babies lie.

TouchPauseEngage · 19/02/2015 20:41

Me too Nature. Made it v difficult for them to check the face but he rolled over slightly justy as they were about to send me off for coffee and cake!

Thepurplegiraffe · 19/02/2015 21:41

Nature my dd was head up all last pregnancy, right up till the end. DH could actually hear her heart beat just by putting his ear to my bump. I'm wondering if this one will be the same. I thought I felt some sort of kick tonight and it was very low down. No scan here yet though.

Naty1 · 19/02/2015 22:05

This baby is in breech position, dd was i think transverse.
I have a weird feeling its going to stay breech.

Naturegirl82 · 19/02/2015 22:19

purple all the movement I feel is down low as I assume that's below my placenta and I can't feel the rest. Which means the baby is either headbutting me or beating me with it's hands! ha!

naty are they going to monitor you later on for the breech position or will it just be standard checks?

JoY007 · 19/02/2015 23:11

My baby was also in breach position at my scan. I assume he will move again. The consultant did not mention it as an issue, I read it in my notes.

Naturegirl82 · 19/02/2015 23:40

I thought most babies turned in the last few weeks (so assume breech at this stage is normal) just not heard it described like that at this stage.

JoY007 · 20/02/2015 07:09

In the notes/print out of the scan results there is a section called position I think. I guess it is to provide added information to explain the measurements and how it was done, as oppose to flagging up the position of baby.

They are quite small at this stage and move around a lot. My baby was probably finally having a snooze after all the gymnastics Grin

BlazeofLight · 20/02/2015 07:27

Hi All - checking back in (think I last made an appearance at about 8 weeks). Now 17 + 7. Feeling the odd flutter, which is lovely. No issues apart from a toddler who doesn't love sleep as much as I do!

So pleased to hear good news about the 20 week scans. I have another 3 weeks to wait, however we had a cheeky private scan at 16 weeks because we were both desperate to find out the gender. And it is another boy! DS1 will be 22 months when DS2 is born, so hoping they will be great friends.

Slightly mourning that I'll never get to buy my children gorgeous sundresses, but excited about a mini pack of boys.

Another else know they are having their second boy/girl?

broodylicious · 20/02/2015 07:41

Welcome back blazeSmile congrats on your boy!

There is no way that babies are going to be in "exit" position at 20 weeks - far too much time and space to kill before eviction - so I really wouldn't be reading anything into current position, folks.

Stinkylinky · 20/02/2015 08:26

Morning ladies, I hope you are all well and bumps too!

I had really sharp stitch like pains down my right hand sign last night, started when I went for a wee then carried on every 30 seconds or so for about 20/30 mins. Does anyone know what this could've been? It worried me as this is my first pregnancy and I was going to ring the midwife if it carried on through the night but luckily it eased off.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 20/02/2015 08:30

Second girl here Blaze! I had in my head it was going to be a boy this time. So excited to have 2 little girls though, and we can reuse all her lovely clothes which is a bonus! DD will be 20 months when number 2 comes along, I really hope they'll be great friends growing up.

JoY007 · 20/02/2015 09:02

Hi blaze congratulations. I feel the same, I think deep down I wanted a girl to inherit all my shoes and bags. Smile and a companion to take shopping with me. That said I shall make him come with me, lol! Men are meant to be better designers right Wink

Naty1 · 20/02/2015 09:48

I think normally it wouldnt be a concern at 20w about being breech.
Im concerned though, as no amount of jiggling would move the baby.
But mainly as dnan had a breech birth (uncle). Mum had dsis, dsis had a breech CS. (And none identified much before birth - dmum saw a cons who identified it)
Thats 3/8 babies.

LaLaLaaaa · 20/02/2015 09:51

Stinky - braxton hicks?

I get it where my bump goes all tight and hard on and off

Mrsc020987 · 20/02/2015 10:10

Congrats on all scan news. Didn't manage on last thread, tried to keep up tho! I'm 17+5 so still a bit of a wait for 20 week scan and keeping sex a surprise!
In other news I have been suffering with headaches for quite some time and just been putting them down to pregnancy and exhaustion from running after dd1(2) and dd2(8 months). Yesterday came with a bad headache and had blurry vision. Contacted gp and midwife, gp had referred me for an emergency brain mri which is quite terrifying actually now I write it down. He has told me to get to see my midwife next week although I'm not due for another 6 weeks and told me to make it quite clear to her he wants me on consultant care! On a lighter note he did tell me the mri will need to be quick or my bump wont fit in the machine!

Stinkylinky · 20/02/2015 10:41

Joy, my brother was and still is a much better shopping companion for my mum, he loves it!

Stinkylinky · 20/02/2015 10:43

Mrsc - I had really bad headaches and blurred vision which made me worry. Turns out I just needed glasses, hopefully it's nothing too serious

jmojo · 20/02/2015 11:18

mrsc it sounds like your GP has had a previous experience that has made him over react a little. Normal proceedure would be a blood pressure check and urine dip for protein (which I am surprised he didn't do if he was so worried!) and an eye exam from an opthamologist, to rule out the most common causes for headache and blurred vision in preg, ie high Bp, pet (unusual this early), and eye sight. Normally an MRI would be a cons obs call once more common causes are ruled out (which lets face it could have been ruled out today if he had seen you). Unless you have other medical or family history that would cause more concern I wouldn't panic just yet. Also so far as MRI goes, i have seen a study done at Queen Charlotts in london which involved women having an MRI at term, and whilst I don't know if you are already a large size naturally, all the ladies in the study clearly fit at term (the hole is not enormous admittedly) so don't worry just yet!! Get your BP checked and hopefully he is just being over cautious and it wont be anything serious!! Smile

JoY007 · 20/02/2015 11:37

Lol [stinkylinky] whoop whoop good to know.

JoY007 · 20/02/2015 11:38

Lol stinkylinky whoop whoop good to know.

Thepurplegiraffe · 20/02/2015 12:25

Naty my breech wasn't picked up until 39 weeks and even then only because they sent me for a scan because I was measuring small for dates. My friends wasn't picked up at all and she had a terrible time so I think I am going to pay for a scan towards the end to check for position.

Hope it is nothing to worry about MrsC.

Mrsc020987 · 20/02/2015 12:38

Thank all, urine was dipped and all ok. Blood pressure was good too. Hey ho, can only wait and see what it shows I suppose. Brother is a radiographer and says he has seen many a fatty fit in the mri. I'm not fat and only have a small bump so should be fine! On another note provisional just came in so now I need to book my theory test and get my driving lessons done. I have always preferred to walk but wont be as easy to nip out with 3 under 3!

Stinkylinky · 20/02/2015 12:57

Good look with the MRI and the driving lessons mrsc

BlazeofLight · 20/02/2015 13:26

MrsC hope MRI goes fine. I am also determined to learn to drive before DC is born. However hoping I can do the whole thing when on mat leave (ie mid May to mid July). Not actually keen on driving either but with two under two think it will be useful.
