Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 22nd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 39th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Splodge I'm going for water birth if I can!

Pisghetti · 25/02/2015 22:09

Oh La funny you should say that - I was lying on my back the other day and lifted my legs up (DP and I were discussing poses for the bump photos...) and my bump went a really funny shape like a pitched roof. I noticed it today in the bath too as I was sitting up. Wondered if it was baby's back or leg but sounds more like what you describe!

Ouch to popping tummies. Careful! La, I'm not sure my chances of a water birth are too high as I'm not allowed in the hospital birth centre this time & think labour ward only has 1 or 2 pools. Was in pool for 5 hours with DS but he wouldn't come out. I was not impressed when midwife said I had to get out the water!

ChatEnOeuf · 25/02/2015 22:29

Yep, my abs have gone this time too Sad - be careful and ask physios about exercise post birth.

Indigo apparently BHs can appear right from the off - I've had them since 12w. Every day.

I would have loved stars on my ceiling - v jealous.

I've never read a BF nook wither, speaking to people and seeing feeds is best. However, LLL will have a wealth of info and I'm sure anything they produce will be worth reading. Kellymom and breastfeedingnetwork are two websites that are good for straightforward advice too, especially in the night! Also, youtube :) The worse bit of feeding for me was when I got thrush - the pain was incredible and took weeks to go away. I also had a painful let-down which lasted until 8 or 9 weeks. Once that was sorted, it was a wonderful thing to do. DD never fed more than 3-hourly at night, but was a monster feeder in the evenings, four or five hours at a go with only a few minutes break in between. But even that only lasted 3 or 4 months. I can say only now, how proud am I Grin

teejayem · 25/02/2015 22:32

Awe lauren I literally feel your pain, it's awful! I'd hug you if I could! I feel like the parts inside my groin are trying to come away; was getting food out of the oven earlier and my back made a horrific cracking noise so I will be back to the GP tomorrow and taking him up on his offer of extending my sick note. I think it's because I massively overdid it today, did far too much walking and lifting stuff I shouldn't have and now I don't know if my front pelvic pain is worse than my bloody back :( rubbish. I will never ever ever scoff at a waddling pregnant woman again Blush. I'm finding it hard to make people that haven't had it or experienced pgp or even back pain to understand just how much it hurts.

LaLaLaaaa · 25/02/2015 22:40

Poor tee! Sounds sore definitely get dr note

Chat our teacher doesn't let us come to post natal class until a certain no if weeks after having the baby for that very reason. And she's very strict about us rolling onto sides to sit up. She was lovely today, checking I was ok.

Pis it sounds the same! It was like a peak! A girl in my class said same thing happened to her in the bath

LaLaLaaaa · 25/02/2015 22:40

Did anyone just see madonna fall down the stairs? It looked painful!

Stoatystoat · 25/02/2015 22:54

Lalalaa, I honestly thought I was never going to laugh again but I've been on Twitter and I have chuckled at what people are saying. I know it was mean but the universe hasn't been kind to me so I'm allowed. I love her just getting up again though and dancing. Cheers Madge's now unemployed backing dancer!

willywallace · 25/02/2015 22:55

Splodge, tell me again why you need to decide about the birth. I know I should remember this but my brain is fried.

Hope you're ok Lauren. Didn't you make up after he left you that message? It's rubbish, not getting on when you already feel so bad. Can you sit him down and explain how tough you're finding things?

willywallace · 25/02/2015 23:30

I hate baby books La, but I suppose they all have something useful to say, especially if it's your first time looking after a baby. As long as you remember that they're not 'right' and therefore don't get stressed if what they say should happen, doesn't happen. I may just be bitter because I've never had one of those babies which fits the mould.

LaLaLaaaa · 26/02/2015 06:43

Scanxiety. Today's the day! I'm praying everything is in the right place and my little one will be bouncing around merrily like last time.

I'm very wary of parenting books - I've even given up reading my pregnancy one. But I'll see if there's anything interesting in the library. I like that phrase 'remember the baby hasn't read the same books you have' as it keeps things in perspective.

Bless madonna it did look nasty! But the thud she made was spectacular. Good on her for getting up and carrying in. Rest of the Brits was dullsville and why are we giving airtime to Kanye and bloody Kim K?!

How's everyone today?

teejayem · 26/02/2015 07:23

Ah good luck la do a wee before you go in! My sonographer pressed really hard when she was doing the anatomy bits and I thought I was going to pee myself. Blush

Poor madge. She recovered well though I think, my GBF is defending to her to the hilt this morning 'you can't get publicity like it Dahhhhling' lol. Mr Tee said it looked like she'd broken a hip wince.
I bought a shitload of pregnancy books at the beginning I think to tide me over between scans and appts and then movement because I had a real mental block comprehending what was going on because I couldn't see or feel it. I bought a lovely journal to keep as well which I've not touched for about six weeks, and I occasionally dip into the books for reference now and I've got a couple of birth ones, but I've retreated back into blissful ignorance for now!

laurenamium · 26/02/2015 07:40

Thanks for the sympathy viroids Smile

I've got a killer day today BUT I get my car back all fixed too today so I won't have to walk the hour round trip school runs anymore Grin I'm also considering going on maternity leave a fortnight earlier than I planned for my tricky mindee as he's really hard work and I just can't chase him if he bolts, I'm struggling to lift him when I catch him too so it's not very safe for him anymore either really. I need to think how to word it to his mam though and quickly as it would mean there's only a fortnight left for him...

wil I talked at DP last night, told him I wanted more help with things like DDs school run and help around the house. He tends to go silent like a teen when he hears things he doesn't want to, and takes a while to process it. So we carried on not speaking last night but I'm going to start today fresh while I try to work out if he's actually processed it or not. Next step if he still hasn't is ill just stop doing anything for him. No laundry, no lifts, no Internet...jeez I actually have a teenager Hmm

laurenamium · 26/02/2015 07:41

Good luck la!

mountaingirl01 · 26/02/2015 07:48

Good luck la! Can't wait to see piccies.
We're having stars on the ceiling only thing we're doing to decorate 'nursery' I had them and planets when I was a kid, first time I went home to dhs I found he had the exact same planets and had also been geeky enough to put them in order around the light. It was meant to be. geeks

gaggiagirl · 26/02/2015 08:38

Morning viroids.
Poor Madonna!

minimooo · 26/02/2015 08:46

aww, mountain that's cute! I love the stars and planets idea.

Good luck today la! I second the advice of going for a wee before the scan. Hope to see some lovely pics later.

Thanks zyla, I'll take a look at our local sure start this morning and see what I can find. Hope little H is doing OK Smile

teejayem · 26/02/2015 09:13

Ah, that's cool mountain! Nowt wrong with being geeks! Mr tee got polystyrene balls from hobby craft and painted them for the different planets, and has suspended them around a yellow ball lampshade for the sun. Jupiter keeps falling down tho.. We've got a cool star projector I bought him for xmas a few years ago as well to add to the observatory effect, although I'm pretty sure this has been done for Mr tees benefit rather than the baby's!

willywallace · 26/02/2015 09:17

You're all so nice. Am I the only one who secretly thinks it's quite funny that the pretentious mare ended up on her arse? Blush

Aw Lauren it's infuriating. I actually can't believe how helpful MrWil is being. I would never had expected it and it's amazing how much more it's making me like him. So maybe your DP will kind of step up once baby arrives? Although I know that's not much help to you now. Our job is a nightmare when you have mobility issues. How old is the tricksy wee boy?

We have hospital appointment today and I have lost the letter. How much trouble will I be in?

RPopz · 26/02/2015 09:21

Good luck with the scan today La Smile

I read The Womanly Art of BF and while it is a good book it is very black and white... eg breast is best full stop. Doesn't really take into account that mixed feeding is an option etc etc and can come across as a bit preachy to my mind.

BFing is hard to begin with. I wish I'd been more prepared for it. Like Kato says, it's the relentlessness of it more than anything! Cluster feeding is a bitch!! But once you come out of the newnewborn phase and they feed a little less often, it's lovely Smile

DulcetMoans · 26/02/2015 09:25

Good luck today la, keep calm and positive. I hope its an early appointment to save the waiting (for us!)

You're not having a good time of it lately, are you lauren! I hope you can talk to him and come to some agreement.

Our NHS do breastfeeding classes I think, thought they all would since there is such a big push for BFing!

Here's the tree thing wil, did half write a reply several times yesterday and never quite posted it! There's a few different types but this sorta thing.TREES

I've only caught up with the Madonna thing at on the news but looked painful. Someone defo lost their job!

My porridge exploded in the microwave... not a good start to the day. But I am still at home at least as I haven't quite made it into work following an early morning Skype call I did in my PJs. I want to work at home all the time!

LaLaLaaaa · 26/02/2015 09:37

Wow! Living the space themes!

Wil I didn't watch it over and over because the thud she makes is quite funny oh no that would be mean

Thanks for good luck it's at 1:50 which is hours away!!!

laurenamium · 26/02/2015 09:56

wil he's 3, so not a lightweight and pretty quick Grin I've spoke to his mum this morning and she took it well. I feel better knowing my work load will ease off in a fortnight. Then only a fortnight after that until actual maternity leave!

Fleurchamp · 26/02/2015 12:14

I haven't seen the Madonna thing- will google later. I have heard lots of the jokes about her though Grin

I don't know how you all cope with physical jobs. I sit on my derrière for a living but really struggle with concentration and bunged up head.

I have been reading online and in one book so far (Lisa Clegg Blissful baby) re looking after a baby and BF. I am not 100% comfortable with BF idea and like the idea of being able to give the baby a bottle at least once a day - whether EBF (if I have enough to do so) or formula. Especially this cluster feeding business, it will be great to be able to hand over to DH or any other willing volunteer Smile

I have had a good morning, a client of mine who I worked really hard for over the past few weeks and months bought me a spa day gift voucher - so lovely and thoughtful! Poor woman was dealing with me when I could barely keep my eyes open and clearly felt some sympathy!

laurenamium · 26/02/2015 12:16

Has anyone on here had to send their mat b 1 forms in for mat pay? I don't know how long to wait before I ring and chase them up but would like to know my maternity pay is actually happening!
