Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 21st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 38th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

mountaingirl01 · 10/02/2015 21:00

No not till Thursday night!

DulcetMoans · 10/02/2015 21:01

Fiery biscuit tits is not how I would describe it - more nipples covered in broken glass - but it works!

Cold here too mountain, can feel it coming on tonight.

Good luck with scans tomorrow stoat and mountain. Everything crossed for you and the answers you need.

lil, dads thing I use isn't an app - it's online so i just look it up every week. Favourited it. I don't have any apps to recommend as haven't downloaded any this time. Didn't know there was a OBEM one though, might look for that.

Pram turned up quick la, will you put it all together to make sure it works before goes in the loft?

So bloated and full today. DH trying to make me eat tea but I can't!

Child care vouchers advice anyone? What are they??

Stoatystoat · 10/02/2015 21:03

Haven't spotted since Friday night, just had a bit now. Sad

gaggiagirl · 10/02/2015 21:33

stoat huuuuuugs! You might just be a spotter. I know lots of women who just kept spotting for no apparent reason.
Lots of luck anyway ill be thinking of you.

Stoatystoat · 10/02/2015 21:48

Thanks gaggia (you always make me want a coffee by the way)

Anyway grads, enough of my moaning. I have a request from our undergrads. The need for a new fred is imminent, and we seem to be developing a whole load of ideas and superstitions about fred starting, BFPs and miscarriages. Would anyone who has had a visit from the stork be able to start them a shiny new fred please? Go and look in on them anyway.

lildottie · 10/02/2015 21:49

la I think you should start the new thread for the jsers, you have a way with words and someone has to try and live up to chats epic lucky Fred. on mountains advice I've decided against it!

dulcet can you send me the link when you get chance or stick it on fb?

childcare vouchers: your employer can give you them as a tax free benefit in kind. amount depends on your tax bracket. I can give you as much info as you like from the tax side. does your employer offer this? if so do you have scheme details. if not have you asked about it. yes ladies the boring accountant has her uses. SMP, sma, I'm your viroid!

and as for bloating! jeez, I look months gone already! and its rather uncomfortable!

got my digi ready for tomorrow eeeeeee

RPopz · 10/02/2015 22:03

No you didn't miss it indigo ...

Briefish version. Had a bit of a bloody show when I woke up on the Thursday so spent the morning doing some panic cleaning/ nesting! Went on a long walk with the dog and for a pub lunch in afternoon. Spent rest of day watching films with DH and bouncing on the ball. Went to bed around 11 and just couldn't get comfy, slept for maybe 30 mins... Started getting stingy periody pains, but took an hour or so to occur to me that they were coming in waves and a regular intervals so were prob contractions.... (d'oh). Woke DH up to time them, we had to Google to remember when we were supposed to ring triage, discovered we were already past that point. So rang labour ward but they put us off going in... apparently I was "too calm" Hmm Lasted til about 6.30 with Daisy centred breathing, wheat bag and hot water bottle. Got to labour ward at 7am and was 5cm dilated. Waters went about half an hour after we got there - bursting dramatically while I was vomming Grin Unfortunately there was meconium in them so that put paid to my hippy woo water birth Sad Had to be strapped up for continuous foetal monitoring and they weren't happy with DS's heart rate. Then had to have foetal blood sampling done where they take blood from baby's head to check their oxygen levels. Had to lay on my back for it which was fucking agonising, worst position to labour in as you all know! First and second sample failed to get a reading ended up having to go through it 3 times (and ages laid on my back Angry ) before they could tell me DS was ok and we didn't need emcs. 7cm by this point and had a diamorphine shot. Did shit all for pain, just made me massively sleepy. DH reckons I slept for about 3 hours on and off... I don't really remember. Really regret having it tbh. Had been having pooey/ pushy sensations for a while, so they let me start pushing at 10cm. Was pushing for 2 hours and getting nowhere. I wrote in my birth plan I didn't want coaching or "purple pushing" but ended up with both after getting pissed off and begging mw to help! Still no joy so consultant decided to do episiotomy and instrumental delivery. Ventouse attempt failed so poor boy was eventually pulled out by forceps Sad (at this point I wished I'd had an epidural!!). DS was passed straight to paed Dr for checking because of all the issues so we didn't get skin to skin Sad Spent what felt like an age being stitched up and had a minor PPH.... All a bit of a drama and couldn't be further from the sodding birth plan.... But luckily my beautiful boy was absolutely fine Grin

Not so brief... sorry!

lildottie · 10/02/2015 22:10

wow popz you went through the ringer! at least it was all ok in the end though. and clearly forgotten if your fb comment about being broody is any thing to go by Wink

noob question, what's purple pushing?

LaLaLaaaa · 10/02/2015 22:13

I was taught about purple pushing last night! It's when they tell you when to push so it's directed by mw, you push and push but we were told you're not actually pushing properly coz you're not doing it with your contractions so it's pretty ineffectual.

Is that right popz?

LaLaLaaaa · 10/02/2015 22:26

Popz it sounds like you were doing really well and were pretty chilled. How come they gave you jab, did they check with you first? I learned about pethidine and other pain relief last night too, it was interesting.

We did escalated breathing last night, i can see how it would help during contractions.

lauren there are 3 women in my daisy class who are on second babies and say daisy was brilliant for their first births, no pain relief needed.

I can start new thread if the JSers want someone?

Good luck tomorrow stoat!! Gx for you. My friend spotted all the way through and just gave birth to a very healthy beautiful little girl.

lil the bloating is a wonderful pg reminder in first trimester!! I looked 5 months preggers at 8 weeks, it was impossible to hide!

lildottie · 10/02/2015 22:30

I seem to be ok in the morning and most of the day la but I have my dinner and my protein shake and I just balloon. and about 10pm the farting starts! last week my joggers were on as much as poss but now they feel too tight! i think im going to be going through many clothes. trip to primani in store methinks. back was killing me in bed last night too and my nice cream says not to use in pg Sad hope its better tonight.

LaLaLaaaa · 10/02/2015 22:30

Lil I really like the babycentre app it's useful, I just ignore the checklists :)

Dulcet we didn't put pram together as it was all nearly packed so we just stuck it in the loft

Good luck mountain! Scanxiety is normal xx

Great news they you're home zyla! It must be so nice to be home Grin

LaLaLaaaa · 10/02/2015 22:31

Lil yup! Evening bloats after dinner are par for the course! Welcome to your next 8 months Grin

RPopz · 10/02/2015 22:34

Haha Lil - it's a cliche but the pain is quickly forgotten!

Purple pushing is where you hold your breath and bear down to push, which is what the mws tell you to do. ("Purple" in the face from breath holding - I guess). But breath holding isn't good! Like La says - apparently you shouldn't technically need to push, the uterus should do it for you and you should breath through it.. foetal expulsion reflex yada yada...

I really just felt like I didn't know what I was doing though. With our without the breathing. Apparently it gets easier with subsequent births? Like your body "learns"? I did find out later that actually my bladder was blocking DS's exit (I didn't pee for 12+ hours Shock ) so I could've pushed for all eternity probably!!

RPopz · 10/02/2015 22:36

I asked for the diamorphine La ... I think laying on my back all that time really screwed me over!

Toast85 · 10/02/2015 22:51

Oh cripes Rpopz, there was me thinking they just slipped out with a little 'ah'. Such fun to come for us all!

Lil I'm feeling really bloated in the evenings too, and backache tonight. Appetite is coming and going but loving the fact that I don't feel guilty if I DO want naughty food or extra snacks, In a kind of 'better have it whilst I want it' kind of way.

Whoever was asking about apps- I love the pictures in pregnancy +, I could look at them all day (though that would totally give the game away to my colleagues).

Oh and speaking of work, I feel like I have a massive sign above my head telling everyone! And a couple of people have actually asked my line manager if I'm upduffed (she knows already and has kept it secret)- is it that bloody obvious already?? I've only known for 6 days myself Shock

Gx tomozza stoaty

lildottie · 10/02/2015 23:06

wow toast you must have it stamped on your forehead! I'm desperate for it to be Thursday to tell my mum. we're going to write "nanny we are pregnant" in magnet letters we have on our fridge so she see's it when she goes to put her lunch in that she brings over with her, then going to give her a copy of the embryos pic. my one rule of letting her in on the ivf was she couldn't ask the outcome so I could still tell her my own way.

glad I'm not the only bloated one. glad to know I've got so much to look forward to!

toast I've bee. told I have to stick to a high protein diet for another 3 weeks (in post transfer notes from hospital) so trying to keep the treats to a minimum and eat good food whilst I can still stomach it. the cadburys crème egg today didn't count!

willywallace · 10/02/2015 23:10

Popz that sounds horrific. Forceps are nasty. I found the midwife instruction about pushing really helpful - never heard of purple pushing before- but once she explained to me that I was putting my energy into pushing into my throat every time I screamed, instead of pushing where I needed to, it totally made sense and it all went a bit faster. Next time will be better for you, I'm sure.

Toast85 · 10/02/2015 23:23

Love that idea lil! We just blurted it out to my parents, after feeling anxious about telling them (like ripping off a plaster quickly?!) and we told Mr Toast's parents this eve but again just came straight out with it! Love how surprised and happy they have all been!!

Oh goodness I had total preggo rage this morning, screaming at poor DH over what was really nothing and was quite mean to him and he didn't even deserve it this time and then had two separate crying fits. All before 7am! I was exhausted by the time I got to work.

LaLaLaaaa · 11/02/2015 07:03

Popz did you find you remembered your daisy stuff in labour, or did it go out of your head? I am sure I'm not going to remember any of it!

I think on the day whatever gets me through will do! So I'm not going in with any great plan. What's the difference between dimorphine and pethidine? Are they pretty much the same?

It's good that all you ladies who've had your babies say you don't really remember the awful bits afterwards. My BFF was traumatised by he first labour and has terrified me about it, so it's nice to hear different stories!

willywallace · 11/02/2015 07:19

I remember my first one being horrific La, think it depends on the labour. My second I remember being unimaginably painful but I'm not affected by it and I think when it's so short, you can get through it. Don't know what you learned at Daisy. I tried to do my yoga breathing which maybe I managed at the start - certainly not by the pushing stage! Also I thought I wouldn't want to be on my back but I couldn't stay upright with the pain. Never really goes how you think it will. Think diamorphine and pethidine are similar things.
