kismac are you Scottish and living here? Murray and Ramsay are NOT old mannish in the least. Where we are at least Murray is fairly common, Ramsay less so but prob due a revival. I went to school with a few of both. ( I'm 28)

daholster · 15/02/2015 20:40

Hello! Feeling more positive and you are all awesome because I KNOW this last week I have basically just whined!!! Lots of my friends knock MN but I love the company and support and I hope to try to give it back too instead of just leaning on you lot for a listening ear.

smogs I love your organised replies Smile

Feeling sorry for all of you with colds!

This evening had a bath with dd, we put a bath bomb in (probably a terrible idea for her skin really but we'll see) and it was fun, made the bath very green!!! She bashed her brother Hmm whilst shouting "BRUVVER" and we turned the shower on too and she played under it and stood in it which is great because she usually shies away...and I needed her to rinse the green off so it was rather lucky!!!

cinnamon we just left the nap today, didn't bother. She wasn't acting tired and the outcome was predictable. She's 21 months and can play by herself but if I'm around she will always pester... And when I'm knackered and sore the tv is just easier - but I know that's bad and I feel very guilty.

Getting a wave like pain near the stoma again. I think the gut is struggling with moving through the massive pile of pickled onions. They don't digest in the small intestine much and have probably made some wodge of fibre which easily sticks. Blush Serves me right!

BHs have settled again though. Part of me wonders if this little man will come earlier than dd (who was 39+5) but then I probably just feel different because last time I was ill and resting loads. This time not so much rest!!!

Supposed to be doing our date evening tonight (the one that should have been Wednesday) but dh is still working and his half of the bedroom is a mess. I keep wondering whether to tidy it and then put our new bedding on etc and sprinkle the stuff on the bed I bought Blush but then I think by the time we have had dinner together once he has finished/if he finishes work then it might all be wasted. I just wanted a lovely evening in bed with him! Cuddles, chocolates, browsing the web together, chatting, puzzles, whatever. My plan isn't working out!!! Maybe just have the dinner and yet again skip the bed bit...

RL20 · 15/02/2015 20:41

Cinnamon- sorry to hear that. When you've not had a cold for ages it really makes you feel sorry for yourself! Your symptoms sound exactly the same as mine, and yes I'm just glad I'm not achey as such, or feverish.

To all that replied about the leaky nipples- looks like I'm one of not very many then! Lol. I can't say it's bothering me, as when I've got my bra on during a normal non-lazy day, I don't notice it. And I can't remember who mentioned boob size but mine did grow quite early on, I've gone up one cup size, (they weren't big to begin with) but only the right one has slight stretch marks on which is the one that leaks the most! Not sure if that's connected or just a coincidence.

Moomin- thanks for sharing! I've had a similar situation with names, 9/10 people do like the name I've chosen but my partner doesn't like, and yet the name he's chosen (with unwanted help from his aunt, I must say) it's also liked. When I've told people about it, I've hoped they're going to laugh along, like you said! I 100% don't like the name though and I'm glad I haven't warmed to it! I really hope no one on here has a relative with the same name but it's just not for me Confused ... Marshall. I will say though, funnily enough, it's all of his family that all like the name and are jumping on the (non-existent) bandwagon! And we don't see eye to eye at the best of times so I think that they think it's hilarious to egg him onHmm

daholster · 15/02/2015 20:45

Oh by the way, Hector - yes! And Ramsay is cool Smile

I found a MN thread that said calling your child Cohen is disrespectful to the Jewish community... Hmm

There are lots of names that mean priest, surely? And apparently people would assume we were Jewish? Not sure about this... But of course wouldn't want to offend anyone! As if we'll end up using it anyway

kismac · 15/02/2015 20:46

Yup, Im Scottish and live in Glasgow. DH is English which is why I think we're clashing on my 'I want a Scottish name' obsession.

daholster · 15/02/2015 20:47

H&M I'm not sure about Marshall either... I did like Sullivan though, but the big blue monster put me off... Then dh said no (of course!) anyway!

daholster · 15/02/2015 20:47

H&M?! I wrote "Hmm"!!!!!

MoominMama22 · 15/02/2015 20:49

Go Scottish! Saying that, its annoying me that a few people have told us we must use a Scots name. We have a very Scottish surname and bubs will probably be a redhead...
The boys names on the list are all Scottish but my fave girls isn't and I think its annoying being told what I can and can't name my baby!

kismac · 15/02/2015 20:52

He he. Im kinda thinking baby might be a redhead too. My 3 sisters have red hair and Im pretty sure I can see a touch of it in DH's beard. My girls name that I love is Flora.

cinnamongreyhound · 15/02/2015 20:52

I meant your nap daholster Wink it's not terrible for dd to watch tv especially with the list of other things she's done in the day!!!

TheBooMonster · 15/02/2015 20:58

rl I'm with the leaky boob brigade, hence wanting to express it :P

Does anyone else find that baby movements almost hurt? I've got knees or something scraping across the indie of my bump and it feels awful and sharp :S

cinnamongreyhound · 15/02/2015 21:00

Yes, lots of things in my ribs are uncomfortable and sometimes I get what is like a stretch so baby pushes into my left hip and right ribs which is VERY uncomfortable!

MoominMama22 · 15/02/2015 21:02

kismac Flora is gorgeous.
Well, while we are sharing, gasp! I'm so secretive! My number one girls name , which DH also likes a lot, is Ivy. Its in the family and I've always loved it but I've watched it become worryingly more and more popular.
Do you think a redhead called Ivy is bad? I won't say why it might be, interested to see if people would..

BananaToast · 15/02/2015 21:05

Moomin are you thinking it might be weird because of Poison Ivy? I doubt most would make the connection - I wouldn't have without you asking about it specifically.

I'm also having a small amount of leaking and have been for the last month or so. It's just a tiny bit inside my bra or I get a drop or two if I squeeze, so not enough to be annoying.

oh moo I looooooove Ivy!

kismac · 15/02/2015 21:26

Ooh Ivy is lovely. I had that on my list too but DH said no.

Baby has been living in my ribs which has been really gross but thankfully has now shifted a bit.

smogsville · 15/02/2015 21:29

LOL thanks daholster. I like to try to get through everyone, where I have anything vaguely interesting to say in reply anyway (humour me...) Wink

Bet your DD loved her bath bomb, might get one for one as she is a big bath fan.

You can find a MN thread about any kind of group being offended I wouldn't worry about Cohen if you like it. Or anyone else about any names you like!

MoominMama22 · 15/02/2015 21:37

Aww glad to hear love for Ivy Grin and yeah bananatoast it was the worry that others would think Poison Ivy if she is ginger.
Its all hypothetical, she may not be , she may not even be a she... She may be a he called Hector!! Haha

I'm also having the sore ribs and jabby kicks, but rather enjoying feeling them! The full body stretches are weird though and the endless hiccups get boring.

daholster · 15/02/2015 21:38

cinnamon I just felt so awful - and cannot get any peace for that time. I just end up extending my splurge longer and longer and having no get up and go to, well, get up and go! If I at least try to nap it draws a line and often getting up from it makes me get moving.

Nodding in approval at Flora... Personally wouldn't choose Ivy but that's probably mainly cos I'm a Holly and people have gone on about it at Christmas for as long as I can remember Hmm Ho ho some people are so original. It's not a terrible thing to get teased about moomin but it will happen for your dd too, be warned!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/02/2015 21:46

I can see that daholster, just mean sometimes trying to force a nap can make you feel worse if it's not happening. Sometimes better just to relax. Your odd hours must mess with your body clock something chronic, never mind being pregnant and with a toddler and with an overworked Dh too! Maternity leave will come round soon and you can be a bit more restful, hopefully!

BananaToast · 15/02/2015 21:59

God maternity leave can't come quickly enough now, I'm very jealous of those of you finishing soon. I still have over 6 weeks left and would much prefer to take it easy and calm the pace down a bit now. Think the interrupted sleep is wearing me out.

daholster · 15/02/2015 22:09

Hear hear banana!!!! 4 weeks til annual leave from the day job, then just the odd funny shift to do. Can't wait...!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/02/2015 22:11

not going to think about my lack of maternity leave!

PenguinPoser · 15/02/2015 22:13

I can't wait for maternity leave either. Kept getting asked when I was back at work on Friday "should you really be here??" As I was limping around and may have cried slightly too Blush. Don't really see how staying at home would be beneficial apart from rest - more time to worry! So I'm hoping to do my 3 days this week then only 2.5 days next week (less due to scan and consultant appt!) then that's it. They have been quite nice at work though - part of my job involves out of the office visiting people at home and they have kindly said I can be excused from that until I leave. Feel bad putting more work onto others again but hoping to make the most of it as I feel I would really struggle.

Love the name chat it's making me think about more girls names which is what we are short of. I had a feeling throughout whole pregnancy that bump is a girl but last couple of weeks I'm now thinking maybe a boy! Excited to find out!

Off to bed, with heartburn relief, night all Brew
