Happy Sunday everyone hope you're all ok.
My sore throat ended up turning into a full blown cold and I now can't breathe through my nose at all. I also can't taste anything Confused Feeling sorry for myself but just thankful it isn't the flu and baby seems ok kicking around as normal. Have my next midwives appointment on Wednesday but if I still feel the same tomorrow I will perhaps try and get a doctors appointment.

Ooh all this talk of crispy cakes is making me want to make some! Home alone for a while today as my partner has took his daughter for dinner round one of his relatives houses, and I've stayed in as to try and not spread my germs around! So I'm still currently in my dressing gown now. But think I'm going to make the effort to get up and make some cornflake cakes Grin Is it acceptable to put some into my partners pack up for work tomorrow? Or will he think I'm treating it like a child's packed lunch Grin I might aswell get the practice in!

Squatting, regarding names, I've been saying the same thing recently! Would be very helpful if they came out with a name tag on Grin

kismac · 15/02/2015 15:40

Yeah, we're stuck on names too. Girls names are sorted but really struggling for boys names. DH suggested Xavier! I give up!

Went to Mothercare today and picked up breast pump (medela mini electric) and got a sterilizer kit half priced, was Mothercare's own make.

Pram was out of stock though. Oh well. Now eating nutella out of the jar.

RL20 · 15/02/2015 15:41

Also, is anyone else really wanting to "nest" but there's just too much to do?!
I'm sitting here now thinking, I want to make cakes but I know once I go into the cupboard where baking thins are kept, I'll want to clear the whole cupboard out. And then I'm scared I won't be able to stop, but I don't want to do too much! Shock
The more I think about how much needs doing, the more I think "oh gosh I'll just leave it...". It drives me crazy thinking about it!

Could just be me though Grin

Lauren82000 · 15/02/2015 15:41

RL I'm sure he will be pleasantly surprised to find one in there and be the envy of all his work friends. DH loves crispy cakes.

Speaking of DH he got a balloon animals kit for Christmas and he just had a go at making some for DD I did the best ones. Made a mini poodle and a swan. He attempted to make a poodle and a rabbit. Needless to say the rabbit looks like a kangaroo! Grin
DD is now trying to pump one up but it's just not working bless.

daholster · 15/02/2015 15:44

Shredded wheat minis don't work as well...But they are done, and daughter and kitchen floor and mummy (jumper, hair trousers) are all COVERED in chocolate!!! Oh well, the floor needed cleaning anyway...

FiRaffe · 15/02/2015 15:51

But did you at least both have fun daholster?

daholster · 15/02/2015 16:00

I think so!!! Dd is now watching Peppa (again) with a drink and no trousers on. We have also done drawing, playdoh, cooking eggs for lunch, and we tried to start tidying but she got it all out again of course!!! It's a no nap day!!! Cheeky monkey, love her so much though Grin

PenguinPoser · 15/02/2015 16:04

We are the other way around kismac we have a boys name but struggling for a girls that we both like enough. We have a middle name for a girl but need a first name.

Sounds like fun daholster! And RL I would say they are definitely an appropriate thing to put in a lunchbox for all ages. I'm not sure about nesting quite yet but the house is a tip and needs a serious tidy up when we get home this afternoon. It drives me crazy when it needs tidying. I also know at the back of my mind that the inside windows could do with cleaning, kitchen cupboards and fridge too... Will get round to it before baby hopefully!

TheBooMonster · 15/02/2015 16:25

DH and his dad have re-carpeted DD's room and the nursery and put all of the too small for DD but far too big for tiny folk stuff in the loft, the nursery is empty for the first time since we moved in... or at least was till I had it filled it will all the stuff I've been storing in my room! Now to put up the curtains, border on the walls, and get some furniture sorted and it will be ready!

Mentioned the antenatal expressing to MiL and she thinks it's a grand idea, she's going to get me some syringes and everything! Shall still speak to the consultant when I see him on Thursday though, especially as the scan result on Thursday should give us a better time frame of when to expect bump anyhow.Thursday feels forever away, I just want to know what's going on now!

All of this talk of crispy cakes has given me the munchies! Pretty sure we don't have anything suitable for making them in the house though, and although we've got cooking chocolate I'd need to grab some dairy milk to avoid DD insisting on helping and then getting poorly stupid soya perhaps I'll add it to DH's shopping list for on his way home tomorrow, as he'll need to go to a supermarket and grab all the stuff that Asda don't deliver tonight anyway...

daholster · 15/02/2015 17:08

Dh has taken dd in the garden. And I'm now trying to nap but can't, argh! I feel like I've got period pain when I lie down, exactly how I used to get it all across my back, added to painful hips and braxton hicks (which make it feel like he's trying to squeeze through my bum!!!) The pain is no worse when the contractions come. If that changes I'll be wishing I had my bag packed! Overdoing it, probably.

The weather has been lovely here today. Dd looks really cute in the garden with her hat on Smile

MoominMama22 · 15/02/2015 18:12

OK boo and penguin don't shout at me but I didn't get checked out. Feel a lot more human today, was at work which kept my mind off it.

Awww daholster you have most definitely been overdoing it, your life sounds exhausting, I want someone to pick me up and carry me too but I have far less of an excuse!

I'm probably less prepared than Cisforcat and most of you... Still no Hosp bag and the " nursery" is basically still a dumping ground spare room.

I'm finishing work on Friday ( when I'll be 33+6) taking all my annual leave and then mat leave. At the time I booked it it felt excessive but I knew if I didn't take the annual leave I'd lose it. But now I'm glad it will be a weight lifted to be completely free to get stuff organised.

kismac careful with Xavier , my DH suggested a name which I hated and is still his one and only favourite choice, I've been using it jokingly about bump and now its sort of stuck and is growing on me Confused if its a boy now I think it might be hard not to call him it! But I genuinely hated it... Don't know if I should let slip what it is....

RL20 · 15/02/2015 18:52

Moominmama- what's the name?! Come on, spill...
Also with regards to being unprepared.. I'm prepared in the way that I think we have almost everything.. minus a few more bits of clothing.. but it's all still stored at my mums house until we manage to pack our dining table away (which we rarely use apart from dumping various bits of paperwork on) so we can use that space for the changing table etc. And also I haven't got round to starting my hospital bag yetConfused I do intend to most days! Will hopefully get round to doing it tomorrow.

Daholster, you're cake-making fiasco sounds a bit like mine!
Started off all good, with my partners 5yo (nearly 6) helping me. She began mixing the chocolate in with the rice crispies and then oops.. She dropped the whole mixing bowlConfused and of course it landed face down and of course it was a mess! Confused Luckily we also had cornflakes so we went with them instead!

Had anyone else been having 'leaky nipples'?! Had them for a few weeks.. Mainly my right one.. And today I've noticed it a lot more perhaps because I've not been doing anything, and at the moment I just have a top on with no bra and the right boob is really going for it! Shock

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 15/02/2015 19:00

Yes RL, mine have been leaking very slightly for a few weeks. I find it very off putting!

My hospital bag is underway, but at the moment chucking stuff in at random. Planning to get DH to pack it properly so he'll know where things are... as if he'll remember!!!

ChickenMe · 15/02/2015 19:04

Ah you must be similar due date to me Moomin. I'm 34w next Sat. I did exactly the same as you-have booked most of my 2015 leave to finish end Feb. I felt guilty too but now I just feel so slow and heavy I think sod it!

Nesting alert -I decided to clean the oven and hob. I used soda crystals as they're inoffensive. I would worry about using harsh oven cleaner. Well, soda c are good but bloody hell, lots of elbow grease required and it turned into an all day job. Now my lower stomach aches so much and I'm sitting on my ball.

RL OHs are like bloody kids anyway. I send mine in with cookies and cupcakes. He ate Cadburys Mini Eggs for breakfast earlier Lol. So I'm sure yours will love your cakes.

ToutDeLeFruit · 15/02/2015 19:20

Hi all, just catching up. Penguin sorry to hear about your cry in to your pizza! aw you poor thing! But yes, as other have said, it's so good you got yourself checked out and now the doctors and everyone can be on top of it all so rest assured baby will be just fine x

Hope all are having nice Sundays, I'm now craving rice crispie cakes!!

We took ourselves off to Bakewell for the afternoon (it's not too far from us) and had a little mooch, a lovely Sunday lunch and purchased Bakewell puddings and tarts which are now calling to me from the kitchen! I couldn't do too much walking with my daft pelvis but it was so nice to go out with DH and do something 'normal' for a change.

moomin glad to hear you feel better today but maybe best still to get checked out! if only to stop any niggling worries x

rl I haven't had leaky nipples so far, in fact my boobs have hardly changed at all and haven't grown either so I'm just hoping they work when the time comes ha!

cinnamongreyhound · 15/02/2015 19:43

I'm the same RL20, had mine since last Thursday :( started as sore throat and snotty nose but last few days been really bunged up and got a cough to go with it. No headache or aches or fever so trying to be thankful! Lots of leaky nipple chat a bit further up thread too :)

We found boys names tough too kismac and we know we're having a boy. DH is set on Joshua now and is telling everyone he's called Joshua as is ds2, ds1 is still secretly hoping for Thomas and although I have no hope of Elliot I'm not making any decisions until I see little man. Slightly worried about too with J as their initial for practical postal type reasons!

Perhaps don't try to push the napping daholster, just take some time out to sit on the sofa and watch crap tele or read a book? I can't remember how old your dd is but its worth trying to get her to play on her own rather than playing with you or the only other alternative being tv, I know with some children thats much easier said than done!

Ds2 has been a monster the last two days Angry. Can't believe how fast this weekend has gone, have 10kids again tomorrow and then a day off with my scan in the afternoon. Then Dh is back to work weds :(

MoominMama22 · 15/02/2015 19:44

Oooh I don't know if I can name share! Hmmmmm
Its funny, we made a decision not to share names with friends and fam, but I did tell them all about DH's fave because it was such a no-no and I wanted them to laugh at it with me. Reaction to it was actually mostly very positive... So at least I know people's true feelings.

My boobs changed immediately as soon as I was pregnant really! Got bigger ( were already fairly massive) and nipples went all big and dark and now they are def droopier Sad but no sign of any leakage, in fact until last week I'd never even heard of leaking before the birth!!

chicken I'm due 4th April too :)

33+1 Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 15/02/2015 19:44

Actually scrap that RL20, the leaky nipple chat may have been on fb group Blush

ChickenMe · 15/02/2015 19:52

Boys names are so hard. Joshua and Elliot are both lovely though cinnamon. Elliot always makes me think of the boy in ET (a good thing). I find many boys names lovely but none make me think "that's the one". Grr.
I love the name Marianne for a girl but OH not so keen. And he vetoed my hormonal idea of Posy. Sad
I think I might have a Braxton Hick after crazy oven cleaning. It feels like a stitch all over the bump and tightening. Is that right?

ChickenMe · 15/02/2015 19:57

Yay Moomin same date. Easter babies - well maybe! I have had 28th March in mind for ages like a psychic thing but that might be cos I may or may not be having a CS. Prob a load of old cobblers and it'll be late late late. Ps I've got no boob leakage yet either. Lots of weird pigmentation on ze nips too!! Does it stay??

MoominMama22 · 15/02/2015 20:04

chicken Posy is so cute! Only bad thing is sounding like poser/posing. Your other girls name is v similar to my own name so can't comment :p
That sounds like a Braxton Hick alright!

OK, deep breath, the name I hated but now kind of drawn to is
Hector Shock
Been calling boisterous bump " big hecto".
Obviously its Greek but also very Scottish by tradition... And we do want a Scottish name .
None of my own favourites now match up to it.

smogsville · 15/02/2015 20:14

Lauren your yesterday sounds exhausting. Great that your DD gave you a bit of a lie-in this morning. I also find sorting things out deeply exciting and very satisfying. If that's sad then so be it!

Penguin - chin up. Someone had to get these sodding pregnancy conditions and it's a bugger that it's you but you are being monitored and it's been picked up which is the important thing. Sending a hug, I think we all understand how you're feeling. Don't let anxiety take hold BrewBrewBrew

Daholster - LOL for your picked onions. I ate an entire fat jar of cornichons and silverskin onions yesterday. Good work on finding the inner strength to show your DD a good time today.

Wine - where did you get your disposable tubs from? Do you mean the sorts of things takeaways come in?

Squatting - LOL for babies coming out with names attached!

RL - if DH took packed lunches he I think he would be thrilled to find choc crispy cakes in his stash.

Kismac - Nutella - yum. I never understand why people are so rude about ferrero rocher - chocs with Nutella in the middle essentially.

Moomin - know what you mean about being free to organise. I long to finish work! Not long to go now.

Tout - super jel of your Bakewell visit, Bakewell tarts are my all time favourite thing. We had roast lamb and apple and quince crumble with loads of thick cream for lunch and my rents came round so I haven't done too badly today.

In other news I had a glass of champagne last night and felt really rather unwell and a bit drunk for an hour or so. There's something about the bubbles as I had a glass of red with Christmas lunch and was fine. Won't be going there again in this pregnancy.

kismac · 15/02/2015 20:35

Moomin, Im after a Scottish name too. But DH thinks my picks are too Scottish - Murray and Ramsay. Plus, Im starting to think they sound like wee old men's names. It's too hard, can I not just number the baby instead.

kismac · 15/02/2015 20:39

DH took me out to a classical music concert last night and I took my shoes off. Im so nailing this 'pregnancy sucks' look.
