Hope you're right mini !

Having a really boring day- I've now ticked everything off my work to do list, so im basically just sitting here waiting for people to reply to emails so i can clear my inbox... very dull, although I've discovered crosswords on the guardian website... might go read about serial killers on wikipedia in a bit- that's my usual go-to reading if im really at a loose end!

trukevoli · 28/01/2015 15:16

bangles - at least I am not the only one who reads that stuff!

I now have an appointment on Monday for the physio as they think I have carpal tunnel in my arms! it is driving me mad and work is now proving to be quite painful. Not looking forward to making a white sauce this evening with the constant stirring.

hope everyone is feeling ok today and am jealous of all you lovely ladies who get to spend the day cuddling their baby.

Memphisbelly · 28/01/2015 15:18

Nice day here was able to get out and dh took me for lunch. My best friend came to meet baby today and bought me champers and chocolates and also extra wine for my birthday!

I bought a phil and teds smart buggy as a lightweight pushchair to keep in car so i didnt have to lug my icandy in and out of car, loved the p and t as my friend had it but with carrycot on it is too back happy you go up kerb and it wants to tip, myself and dh crapped ourselves, luckily it was a bargain so will get money back but now have no idea what else to get

donkir · 28/01/2015 15:35

MW went well this afternoon yet another one id not met. Don't need to see anyone now unless I go 7 days over due. So everyone what are your tricks to get baby here before then?

Bangonthedoor · 28/01/2015 16:20

Ah sounds like you've had a nice day memphis Smile

Went to tescos this morning to do a bit of a stock up shop, hoping I won't have to do another before baby! Feeling a bit energetic this afternoon, hoovered the whole house and danced around with DD like a loon Grin

Was supposed to get my nails and brows done this evening but my friend has cancelled as she's poorly. Going to try and do them myself...

Sorry you've caught the cold too bangles, this one just doesn't seem to be shifting! I don't get where all this snot is coming from Hmm

Surf25 · 28/01/2015 18:42

Full of the cold here too and had a rather frustrating day with workmen coming and going but mostly going with no sign of when or if they may return! However, dd2 has been a lovely wee helper around the house so that's been a bonus!

Memphis, friends of ours swore by the Maclaren strollers they used them for all three of their kids from newborn, seat goes flat. Easy to fold, lightweight and not over engineered so seemed preferable to them than a buggy which did what you describe. Not fun to have unbalanced prams with precious wee ones in there!

Anyway, just a thought. Saw one on offer in mothercare the other day and was contemplating it. We have a travel system but sometimes you just want something more portable! And we had a silver cross type stroller for this reason as well as our travel system but the two dds well and truly trashed it!!

Memphisbelly · 28/01/2015 19:14

Surf thank you for stroller advice think I am going to buy a from birth stroller and put the icandy in car when we go on a big walk.

Grinningcat · 28/01/2015 19:19

Had a half decent night's sleep last night and feel much better today. Have also finished painting the baby's room! Hurrah! Back to work tomorrow though, but have to go to presentation check in the pm so will have to leave early. Still have so much to sort out, but can't wait until I finish on Friday.

Surf25 · 28/01/2015 19:21

I think that's my plan too, Memphis. It's nice to have the flexibility of a couple of options and both should last years so a good investment! How is wee Donnie getting on? It sounds to me like you are doing fab, are you feeling well? Your dh sounds an absolute star! And how is Donnie's big brother settling in to his new role?

Memphisbelly · 28/01/2015 19:29

He is lovely, lost 2.5 ounces so is now 6.14.... Same weight ds was born, he is still taking an age to feed. Have to go back hospital for a hearing test tomorrow as he still had fluid in his ears when born.
Ds is being a complete star, so loving and caring and dh is being amazing too.
I feel fantastic apart from one point in my stitches hurts, fine when walking or on sofa just in bed its a problem getting up, the one area twinges....have to remember I only gave birth 6 days ago and I am maybe expecting a bit too much too soon Grin

Surf25 · 28/01/2015 19:52

All the men in your life sound just fab, Memphis! Hope I'll be able to say the same about my dds as you can about ds. And yes, sounds like you might just be expecting quite a lot for six days down the line! Grin don't overdo it!

Hope all the other new babies and new or new again mums are doing well too! Can't wait to hear about the next arrivals!

freneticfox · 28/01/2015 20:57

Zzzzonk. Can barely stay awake for longer than an hour at a time today.

I know I probably shouldn't moan since I know I only have another couple of weeks to go, but I'm so damned uncomfortable. How much can I realistically grow in the next two weeks?!

longbottom · 28/01/2015 21:46

Frenetic, I'm wondering how much I can grow in four weeks when it feels like the baby is about to fall out and skin is so tight! Fingers crossed not much more!
One more week at work!!
I've got my 36 week appointment tomorrow, I think all is ok apart from head aches, swollen feet, and no sleep!

tweety89 · 28/01/2015 22:05

I was just thinking about the same thing frenetic. I'm feeling my belly button stretching so much at the moment, baby is playing football down there...and I've got my cs date for the 19th (!). I thought that my belly was big last time. Well, this time it feels massive (even though it may not be...I only have two pics of my belly the first time, whereas this time, I try and remember to get one once a week).
This nesting thing...today I've cooked lunch/dinner and pudding and made bread rolls, everything from scratch (I never do!) and DH was so excited (this time round I've been cooking and cleaning like mad from the start of my pregnancy) that he asked me to go for the third one! lol
I won't lie, I've been eating like there is no tomorrow throughout the pregnancy (I normally do, but I exercise daily), but the last few days I've been terrible. There are no snacks/chocolate/crisps/junk left in the house...At least DD is keeping me on my toes with the school rounds and her after-school activities...

sophspot · 28/01/2015 23:07

Hi ladies, my ds finally was born today. After a very stressed few day's. Sunday s induction was cancelled due to emergencies and no bed's. After 55 hours of unsuccessful labour of getting to 9cm dilated. Lo was stuck looking up and and back to back so we left it another 5 hours to see if we could get to the last 1cm. Which sadly didn't happen so had quick scan and descion was made by consultant to emergency c section and he was born within an hour at 9lbs 13oz. C section was great very peaceful and pain less. Surgeons and midwifes were great and I really couldn't have had any better treatment. In hospital recovering and stabilising lo sugars hopefully home in a few days. In awe of my new son. Smile

blankfornames · 28/01/2015 23:10

Donkir, had my hospital app today. Infront of my mother he proceeded to tell me to have lots and lots if sex..everyday...to get things moving. He mentionned this about three times! I was Blush !! He also said to spend at least 2 hrs a day on the birthing ball. Do pelvic tilts on it and bounce. Lastly he advised about 2 kms walking everyday. Though surely if you're partaking in the first recommended exercise, that makes up for the walk?!!

blankfornames · 28/01/2015 23:13

Ah congrats Sophspot! Another thread baby! Sorry you had such a tough time but delighted that your little boy is finally here. Hope you both have a good /settled sleep tonight. Well done!

Grinningcat · 28/01/2015 23:18

Congratulations Sophspot. No wonder he wasn't getting born at 9cm when he's that big! He's looking very content in the pic though.

Giantbabymama · 29/01/2015 05:52

Congrats Sophspot, he's lovely. My baby measured 7lbs 15 oz at a scan yesterday at 37 + 5 so I am thinking I may have one of a similar size if they let me go beyond full term!

I am sooooooo huge now. I used to get asked how many months all the time but I am so obviously ready to pop that people have stopped asking.

At prenatal yoga on Sunday a lady who is 27 weeks took one look at me and said: "why don't you just get the doctor to induce you?!" Hahahaha. I do feel big and a bit tired, but I didn't think I looked that bad.

Giantbabymama · 29/01/2015 05:58

Oh yes and pesky baby is currently back to back and "a bit high" so I think it will be all fours for me while watching TV in between birth ball sitting and walking.

donkir · 29/01/2015 07:21

Congratulations Soph. Hope recovery is going well.
Has anyone heard from AmyandTom?
Ha ha lots of sex chance would be a fine thing. I'd love to but then it means I won't be able to walk as messes my hips up.

Bangonthedoor · 29/01/2015 07:30

Congratulations soph! I'm sorry to hear things didn't go to plan, but I'm so pleased you have your baby boy and he arrived safely for you Smile

I really want to meet baby now, I'm getting so impatient and I'm not even due until next Friday!

blankfornames · 29/01/2015 08:03

37 weeks today!! Grin Grin
Has anyone else managed to avoid strange cravings? I have to admit to being slightly disappointed! I was hoping to have an excuse to eat like a hound for a while!!

sophspot · 29/01/2015 08:09

Thanks everyone. He's so lovely just can't wait to get home with him now, just cant believe hes finally here good luck everone your lovelies will soon be here xxx

LittleMissSunshine33 · 29/01/2015 08:17
