I'd try calling your hospital team - both if necessary. Never mind them scalding, it's not your fault their MW hasn't shown up. I'd be tempted to ask for a supervisor / team leader to ask policy on covering missed appointments - I know I caused chaos with my unplanned home birth but they used people from other teams to cover the appointments my attending mw's should have been at, some of them a few hours late b

Sorry I've been MIA the last few days but MIL came around, DD started her half term on Thursday (Friday was inset day) and I realised I hadn't prepared my hospital bag properly for tomorrow...panic!!
frenetic I had been through a similar experience throughout my first labour with emcs, infections for the first 25 days (4 sets of antibiotics for me), struggling to bf for the first 7-10 days, etc. etc. You shouldn't feel bad if you end up ff (I was feeling a horrible mum and persisted as much as I could, crying 24/7 and not really enjoying motherhood or life for all that mattered), you should really think about yourself as much as you can - it will be good for your baby too. I finally got diagnosed with PND when DD was 2.5 and got referred for 8 sessions of CBT which helped but you still have to do a lot of soul-searching yourself so the earlier you start realising what's happening, the better. I hope you feel much better soon and that everything falls back into place sooner rather than later. Flowers And last but definitely not least, don't be afraid/embarassed to ask for support/help from your GP, HV, mw, friends, family and of course us! Grin Grin. I was reluctant and yes, I was vaguely talking about it but not really seeking for help and that's why I ended up having it for so long.

Tomorrow is D day and I keep on thinking that I've forgotten half of the 'instructions' I was given about it. Should I eat normally today? Should I take my iron tablets and pregnancy vitamins as normal? Should I give a lot of hugs to DD reassuring her (or possibly this will make her feel even more hostile around the baby...)? ARRGGGHH!
At least I got her a present 'from her little brother' and MIL brought a suitcase full of presents just for her (we've got loads of stuff for the baby). Getting a bit worried/emotional/scared now as -in theory- by this time tomorrow I'll be holding my baby...

P.S. Congratulations kats! Flowers And it wasn't a small baby either...56cm??!!!

Darn phone, posted before I'd finished Blush

Anyway, in the meantime I've managed to start us a thread on the post-natal side, I hope that everyone will continue with us. And that I manage to put the link on properly Hmm

Frenetic call the number on front of your white notes.....I would actually get your dh to do it. On my 5 days check I was told morning it got to 6pm and dh phoned the number in white book, he is quite calm whereas I have tendancies to kick off or cry. She said they had major hold ups all day and would havecto come next day, he explained how we had waited all day and that I was distressed feeling like I couldnt nap/bath etc as I was waiting next thing you know they arrived.

Memphisbelly · 18/02/2015 13:55

Frenetic look on facebook at peterborough breastfeeding support. It is ran by nct trained breast feeding support workers, this is what my friend does, you can send a pm on there and they will give you advice and apparently they come out for home visits too....worth a shot maybe?

freneticfox · 18/02/2015 13:55

Phoned, ranted, cried and begged. Got someone heading over soon. Fingers crossed for me, ladies!

freneticfox · 18/02/2015 13:57

Hi frenetic, hope you're ok now. I am struggling a bit with bf too. She feeds well and is hungry a lot but it hurts like f* at the start of each feed which really puts me off wanting to do it. Am persisting for now at least, but anyway, just wanted to let you know you are not alone.
