WhyO - we are definitely close ;)

I'm still feeling a little overwhelmed. When I presented all of our research and tried explaining our reasons at the first hospital, DH and I were literally laughed at. We were condescended to, and made to feel like teenagers who'd split a condom and were making rash decisions.

I was so scared of presenting the same info to this consultant (different hospital) but it was a completely different experience. She listened to everything I said and to my complete surprise validated pretty much all of the things I considered. She explained her view on my medical history and supported why I wanted a CS in the first place. She also said that if I go into labour spontaneously, it's not complicated to continue with a section as long as I'm no more dilated than 5cm. Beyond that, it's difficult to assess unless it's happening.

Just now have to hope that little fox doesn't decide he wants out sooner!

PeppermintInfusion · 27/01/2015 18:07

Why, the community midwife told me if I go before my CS date to get to the hospital right away, even if I'm not 100% sure it's labour, to stop the messing about. The Dr wasn't so clear about this, and the mw did say don't tell the dr I told you this so delaying must be a common thing.

BanglesSpangles · 27/01/2015 18:09

Great news, Frenetic

Geeky. I genuinely think I'd burst into tears if i found a major in my dinner- i can cope with creepy crawlies with legs but the squiggly ones give me the willies!

Also just spotted peppermints part about cheap water wipes. Am going to have to be physically restrained from doing more shopping now!

BanglesSpangles · 27/01/2015 18:17

Gah- so many typos in that last post

Maggots not major being the main one!

PeppermintInfusion · 27/01/2015 18:18

Does anyone remember if the anti d injection made them ill? Can't remember from the routine one, but feel so rubbish this afternoon, wondering if it's the dose I had today?

longbottom · 27/01/2015 19:10

Wow, this thread moves fast! I'm hoping to be able to contribute more once on maternity leave, next Friday!!
Been and bought last bits for hospital bag and will finish packing on my day off on Thursday.
I am so tired and the waddling is getting embarrassing, baby has defo dropped but I have no idea where it is as such a wriggler.

Surf25 · 27/01/2015 19:34

Great news frenetic Grin

Bangonthedoor · 27/01/2015 19:47

So pleased you've finally got some good news frenetic Grin

Mimosa1 · 27/01/2015 20:53

Hi everyone! Great news, Frenetic and Why, pleased to hear you're ok!

2 days until due date and have put on. So. Much. Weight. (Nearly 20 Kg). I'm ravenous all the time though. Really hoping this baby comes soon and my appetite goes back to normal ( I hope!)

bellaboo88 · 27/01/2015 21:27

Whyowhy, going back to page1 re first poo, I read on a thread that a good coat of vaseline will make it a million times easier to clean :)

Had some strange CM today, rang day unit & they said its my plug! Trying not to build my hopes up...but I might rush the rest of the nesting just in case!! I'm 37+1 x

Memphisbelly · 27/01/2015 21:35

Mim my appetite went crazy in last 2 weeks, and is still quite high now but is slowing. All the things I wanted to eat and drink when pregnant I am going off too.

Mw came late afternoon for 5 day check and the heel prick test, he is so skinny they had to do it 3 times to get the blood from him she said the the first time in about 8 years she has had to do it that many times, poor boy was so brave and cried more at her cold hands placing him on scales. He hasn't had a poo since yesterday morning and was quite concerned and said she will call in morning for an update but in last hour we have done 5 nappy changes! Shock

Ds asked why my tummy isn't flat yet and when I am going back to the gym! Shock He is 4....bloody kids

donkir · 27/01/2015 22:11

Mim I'm the same I've put on 3 stone which I think is nearly 20kgs and I still have a week and 2 days till due date. I just seem to eat all day. Filled my fridge with lots of healthy things last week but Sunday I took myself to shop and replaced it all with junk.

BanglesSpangles · 27/01/2015 22:21

Ooh bella keep us posted!

Ive been an eating machine this last week- i don't think Ive really been hungry, just indulgent- which I know is due to the fact that I was getting a bit worried because Ive not really put much weight on, and am trying to over compensate now by eating utter crap! Ive decided not to buy any more naughty food in an attempt to force myself to make what I have last a bit longer, but its not working- have had 4 milky ways tonight :D

Mimosa1 · 27/01/2015 22:40

Glad I'm not the only one, Memphis, donkir and bangles! My weakness is asda's extra special white chocolate chip cookies. Don't even want to think about how many I've eaten today Confused

GeekyHybrid · 27/01/2015 23:02

I managed 5 chocolate bourbons with my cuppa tea this evening Blush

Morning! You guessed right, OH doesn't have work today, no 4.30 alarm so who's wide awake?! Confused Hopefully by the time I've read the paper (on kindle) I'll be able to doze off again.

OP posts:
Mimosa1 · 28/01/2015 05:44

Morning Geeky! I'm the same - since I don't need to be anywhere early tomorrow, of course am wide awake!

Minichuch · 28/01/2015 05:55

Same here - mw appointment this morning so don't need to be up as early - cats enjoy it they can get some attention

blankfornames · 28/01/2015 07:02

Morning, I'm also awake too early also! It's frustrating as anybody I meet tells me to lie in for as long as I can!
Hospital appointment today. Bean has been shuffling loads the last few days so I hope that he/she is still head down...if not engaged at this stage! I had diarrhiorea yday and I got a little excited that things may have been kicking off but nothing since! I've put on 3 stone too Shock . Have 3 weeks left and don't think I can stretch anymore!!
Exciting Bella...hope this is it for you!

Memphisbelly · 28/01/2015 07:44

I am sleeping so much better now baby is out, I have just woke up after 9.5 hours to find baby woke twice to be fed and had a massive poo.......I will miss dh when he goes back to work and I actually have to wake in the night (I am a bit sore where stitches are so struggling to sit up in bed)

purpleteapig · 28/01/2015 08:16

Morning all. Glad it's not just me who's been eating for England. I've had to replace the bag of (family sized) chocolate buttons in my hospital bag twice since the weekend! I should get dh to hide it as I have zero willpower.

donkir · 28/01/2015 08:34

I was all set to go last night. 5 clear outs in one day then woken to quite painful fanny daggers and tightenings. Alas I'm still here this morning.

GeekyHybrid · 28/01/2015 08:37

I'm so jealous memphis, even my first shift sleeping was interrupted twice. I've had another doze but up (ish) having breakfast and drinking tea with OH. Your husband sounds like a dream, hope mine's half as helpful when it comes to it.

OP posts:
BanglesSpangles · 28/01/2015 09:38

morning all
i have a cold a-comin'- how annoying! Typical really- this always happens whenever I take time off- as soon as I stop work, I get sick!

Last day of having to get up early though, so that's nice (dentist appointment tomorrow and midwife on Friday), although I bet given what everyone else is saying I'll be up at the crack of dawn for the rest of the week!

Minichuch · 28/01/2015 09:44

Mw appointment complete for 36 weeks - presentation scan next week as she suspects lo may be breech - I don't think they are I'm sure I had a foot in my ribs last night
