I've got to take my 3.5 yr old daughter to my booking in appt! Goodness knows what's going to happen as I didn't want her to know until at least 12 week scan.

Kittykitty05 · 26/01/2015 21:31

Sorry to hear that spud and Cinnamon Flowers best wishes for the future.

Alien I'm in Kent!

Kittykitty05 · 26/01/2015 21:35

I'm still patiently(!) awaiting my booking app and 12 wk scan date. I'm about 9 weeks now but last time I called doctors I was put in my place by the receptionist and told to wait till 10 weeks before complaining I've not heard yet. Does seem late tho. Anyone else heard late booking apps?

MessyMoo · 26/01/2015 21:37

I know it must have been mentioned before, but when phoning the doctors, is there anything specific to say, other than I'm pregnant? What happens then?
I spent over half an hour trying to get through to the surgery this afternoon and it's was constantly engaged! Will try again tomorrow no doubt.

SpamAnderson · 26/01/2015 21:38

Ha ha laura my eldest is exactly the same, she goes quiet and turns an ear to you! Or she'll decide that she just has to have a cuddle or whatever fun thing she was doing, just isn't fun anymore, listening to mummy and daddy or Nannie talk is much more exciting! She has said 'maybe there is a baby in your tummy already and you're just not going to tell us until later in case something happens'. I think she does 'know' but it hasn't quite clicked yet!

itssangriaoclock · 26/01/2015 21:40

Messy moo must trusts you can self refer now. Google self referral and your nhs trust. It should come up with link. Download the form and email it back to the given address they will send you your pregnancy notes and a scan dates.

Worth a try, as that's all a GP will do. They no longer confirm with a pregnancy test.

Good luck

itssangriaoclock · 26/01/2015 21:40

I have an early scan tomorrow 7wks. I'm now feeling very nervous Hmm

Snowflake15 · 26/01/2015 21:46

Good luck sangria! How early did you book? Let us know how it goes! I'm still umm-ing and ahh-ing about an early scan!Smile

sauvblanc21 · 26/01/2015 22:02

Snowflake - I'm with you, can't decide whether I want an early scan or not. What are your latest thoughts? Have you had a date for your booking in appointment yet? xx

Lauramum23 · 26/01/2015 22:10

I rang our snotty receptionist at the doctors, I think they are just nosy too! I said I need to book in with a midwife, she said why!?? Doh! So I said I'm pregnant. Didn't really want to tell her when I've not told all family!! Silly really haha.
Anyway she just wrote down name age and passed the number for our maternity unit at the hospital so I'm to go up there for all appointments, bit annoyed at having to pay for parking tho!

Snowflake15 · 26/01/2015 22:12

I haven't heard anything from the midwife! I'm driving myself crazy googling and worrying myself even though I have no reason to worry! Currently thinking it will be worth it for the reassurance, but what if it's inconclusive if they just aren't sure!? Then I think I'd rather know sooner than later if something is wrongConfused

I'm a huge believer in positive thinking but for some reason I am just so paranoid about this!!

What do you think sauv?

MessyMoo · 26/01/2015 22:13

Thanks Sangria, good luck for the scan

sauvblanc21 · 26/01/2015 22:17

So totally in the same boat snow, even with you on the positive thinking yet worrying. I am usually the most upbeat person ever! Was saying to hubbo tonight that when I was younger (and not even that much younger!) I just thought you got pregnant and therefore had a baby! Grrr. Wish it was that easy!

I think if I could just calm down and not think about it every second of the day, I wouldn't be considering an early scan at all - would like to just be patient and worry-free enough to wait for 12 weeker. But I wonder if early scan will reassure BUT even if the early one is all good, still doesn't mean there's nothing to worry about. Argh!

Keep me posted on what you're thinking. xxx

p.s. I haven't heard from widwife either but at 5+1, don't think I can hassle yet! Wink

sauvblanc21 · 26/01/2015 22:18

*midwife, not widwife - oops - haha!

Snowflake15 · 26/01/2015 22:22

sauv 2 peas in a pod! I'm also upbeat generally, but apparently not when it comes to pregnancyEnvy

I work right near Harley street so I think i may pop in to one of the clinics and see if I can gauge some info- how long the wait is for an appointment etc... Agree about how we would probably still worry between 8 and 12, but read so much online that it's 98% chance of being ok if heartbeat at 8wks that I've persuaded myself I might stop stressing!

Ahhh!! As you say, ignorance would be bliss eh!Brew

alien11 · 26/01/2015 22:26

I saw doc this evening & made appt at reception to see the mw @ 10 weeks-26th feb. One whole month- eeek!! Scary stuff.
Apparently it takes an hr.. With a 3.5 yr old to entertain and not let them listen and get the hang of?! Wish me luck!
sangria good luck tomorrow.

I won't be going for an early scan ill just wait for the 12 week one which I did with dd.
Doc said I'm nearly 6 weeks so halfway there until scan...also means 6 weeks until my skiing holiday! Woooo

sebsmummy1 · 26/01/2015 22:30

Hi girls. So sorry spud and cinnamon Sad

Booking in appointment tomorrow, I'm 9 weeks on Friday. I can't get the possibility of MMC out of my head. When I was pregnant with my son I has never heard of the term, it didn't cross my mind that there wouldn't be a baby in my tummy. Now of course I know too much and I am terrified of being scanned. My sister had a MMC and she started bleeding just before her 12 week scan. I keep thinking if I don't see blood I might be ok.

alien11 · 26/01/2015 22:57

sebsmummy try not to worry however I do feel the same. I'm of the thinking of what is meant to be is meant to be. When I was pregnant with dd my doc said if there is nothing at the scan/you lose the baby-there is a reason that sperm and egg couldn't work together.
Sorry if that's morbid but it's really helped me try and relax. There's nothing I can do it's a long wait for me as only 6 weeks but I'm hoping to get to 12 weeks

45Monty · 26/01/2015 23:05

I've been a bit quiet, catching up on the threads in the 2nd stream, and found this new stream. So sorry for the losses in the group. My heart goes out to all of you.

I spent the day in A&E as they thought I had an ectopic pregnancy due to symptoms. Ultrasounds, tons of blood work, and urinalysis. Gotta love the pee on demand moments.

Based on LMP I am 6+2. After both a Pelvic, and transvaginal ultrasound, they were able to, thankfully, rule out ectopic. They have put me at 6+0, and measuring .35cm. Heartbeat was at 115. It was a bit of a roller-coaster ride day, but at least we have some answers. And, now a picture.

At home resting, and trying to just breath...

TerrysNo3 · 26/01/2015 23:23

Monty that's great news! I wonder how they date at this stage, I thought it was on size but mine was 43mm and they said I was 5+6. It's all so confusing sometimes!! Grin

TerrysNo3 · 26/01/2015 23:26

scrap that... 4.6mm!! teeny teeny tiny! Smile

45Monty · 27/01/2015 00:04

Terry at 5+6 and 4.6mm that is normal from what I've been told.

3.5mm (0.35cm) at 6+0 seemed small, but I looked it up and it is also normal - more mid point on the normal range.

Mummyboo30 · 27/01/2015 00:08

I think we are going to tell DD after 12 week scan. We are gently starting to prepare her for the idea, talking about what she was like as a baby, how babies are etc. I think she'll be really happy. Definitely will need to impress on her how long babies take to grow though.
I don't think we can get away with much longer than that either. She is a nosy so and so and has ears like a hawk!

Good news Monty glad that it's all looking ok so far. Good luck to all those with scans/appointments tomorrow.

45Monty · 27/01/2015 00:13

Has anyone else had a RhoGAM shot already?

Maths88 · 27/01/2015 05:46

Two days until booking in and early scan and I woke up with a real sense of dread that something wasn't right. So stupid me I had to take two tests this morning cb still says 3+ and frer was nice and dark but I'm sure that I've had darker! I don't know why I did it because now I'll just worry more until Thursday and I know doing those tests didn't change anything!

I hope everyone else is feeling more positive than I am right now!
