Back from the drs, he thinks this is 'my' morning sickness (never had it with my other 2 pregnancies!) plus my blood pressure has dropped from my normal 120/80 to 100/60 so explains why I'm so dizzy all of a sudden. Said o cold drinks, room temp or warm and drink little and often should help but as the blood pressure isn't high, they don't worry about it. I swear this is a boy, my girls never gave me this much hassle. IF this isn't a boy I will eat my hat!

StrawberryCheese · 06/02/2015 10:59

I know that this is going to sound pathetic given that some of you are really poorly but I have awful indigestion and am so uncomfortable I'm nearly in tears Sad At least at home I can try and relax and let it all out as it were, but at work?! I constantly feel full, on the verge of throwing up but with a loud grumbling stomach which is raising a few eyebrows in the office.

Does anyone have any tips?

sebsmummy1 · 06/02/2015 11:09

Strawberry I have the same every evening. I have no idea what you can do. I just end up sipping water all evening.

SpamAnderson · 06/02/2015 11:16

Strawberry, have you tried mints? With my last 2 I used to find milk helped and had a stash of mints too for when necking milk isn't convenient :) or speak to your mw to see if she'd advise you to take antacids? I take them on an off as they help settle my stomach If its feeling nausea/full/bubbly etc.

ShootTheMoon · 06/02/2015 11:16

Strawberry, yep - cut out carbs like bread and pasta. When non-pregnant I never have any indigestion any more and it's because I eat lower carb than I used to. Try porridge/eggs for breakfast and soup for lunch, maybe?

That's just what works for me though Smile

I'm sipping on water and eating little and often rather than big meals. It starts as soon as I wake up though, before I've even eaten or drank anything and lasts all day! What is the point of it?

GoooRooo · 06/02/2015 11:21

Rennies are the only thing that ever helped with heartburn and indigestion last time I was pregnant. I ate bucket loads of the things.

Lauramum23 · 06/02/2015 11:31

Oh Lordy we are all in the dumps this morning! I apologise in advance when I get names wrong! Facebook will be much easier lol
Ellison (?) how awful to puke all the time like that! Glad you got seen to x
Alien hope you are ok x
And all the other ladies feeling rotten hope it gets better x

I have to say my morning hadn't been fab! Total emotional meltdown! I never cry usually but this morning it was all the cars fault door wouldn't shut it had frozen I flipped out at kids cos big one was being a pain, I hate hate hate being shouty and don't really do it hardly, anyway that upset them resulting in the 5 year old screaming at the school door he didn't want to go in, I felt terrible he has never been like that before so I was totally upset and sat crying in the car for half an hour! They rang and said he was fine and he told the teacher he wants to smash the car up and buy a blue 7 seater with his tooth money! Aww my poor baby so that made me cry again!
So yes heightened emotions are defo here!
Oh and I missed yoga! Went shopping instead, but I've decided I may not do 9.15 gym classes so we can just walk to school which puts everyone in a better mood to start with! Aquafit are all later in the day Classes that may be a good idea.
Sorry for enormous posting thankyou for reading it even tho it's probably well boring SmileWinkShockHmmConfused xxxxx

Lauramum23 · 06/02/2015 11:34

Hi me againGrin
My heartburn will come later I get it so bad when pregnant I have to sleep sat up! Gaviscon chewable tabs are good, I can't drink the liquid it makes me bork. Or rennies are ok too.

StrawberryCheese · 06/02/2015 11:49

Ok, I'll get some Rennies and see if they help me. Thank you Smile

NatalieBee · 06/02/2015 11:56

Hi girls hope everyone with appointments and scans today go ok Thanks

Struggling to keep up with this thread even with the app so sorry if I've missed anything! Will be far easier when it's time for facebook:)

10+3 today and symptoms back with a vengeance Hmm oh well I had a nice few days with them lowered! 12 weeks come at me Shock xx

alien11 · 06/02/2015 11:58

Doc was fab i have an appt for a scan on Monday morning.eeeek. I'll be dropping dd at pre school then home for quick cuppa and off to the hospital. Be bit hard on my own if there's anything wrong but no choice.

Kittykitty05 · 06/02/2015 12:03

strawberry try Rennie mint chews or fruit Tums, as neither have that soapy texture some tablets have, and both are okay in pregnancy.

Lauramum23 · 06/02/2015 12:04

Yey alien I'm sure it will be good news xx

Kittykitty05 · 06/02/2015 12:09

alien I'm glad that's booked, only the weekend to get through x

Jackieharris · 06/02/2015 12:14

My nausea seems to have mostly subsided, thank goodness!

Can't wait to get a due date next week, I had long cycles so really not sure on dates.

StrawberryCheese · 06/02/2015 12:24

Sorry I've just realised I missed a couple of posts from people.

Spam I've been having chewing gum rather than mints but I've realised that has just made it worse as I'm essentially swallowing air. Anything milky turns my stomach at the moment so drinking milk (which I usually love!) isn't an option.

shoot I will try to cut out the carbs. My diet is probably a bit too carb heavy anyway. I think meal plans and a trip to the supermarket are in order.

butterflycats · 06/02/2015 12:46

cornberry I've got cyclizine which makes you sleepy but works! and metoclopramide which makes me slightly tired. The only thing with metro loperamide is new guidance came out about a month ago saying should only have 5 days max, but my gp obviously hasn't read it as I've got loads!!

eallison welcome to the HG club' I've been in hospital too xxxx

Well booked myself a private scan Monday evening... Don't want to be feeling this sick for no reason!

alien11 · 06/02/2015 12:50

Only problem I have now is I may not be back to pick dd up from pre school ??have messaged the manager to see if they could let her stay extra 30 mins. If not no idea what to do. I presume kids can't come to the scans?!
I'll be going on my own so shall be straight on here after Smile
I really hope it's good news but if it's not I feel relaxed now in that I will know one way or the other.
I'll be 7 weeks 4 days Monday

Chuch21 · 06/02/2015 12:52

I have terrible heartburn! My only real symptom now apart from being sleepy.

So gaviscon and rennie are ok? I've been grinning and bearing it as I was so scared of taking everything, someone suggested mint cordial but that doesn't sound too appealing!

So sorry for all of you suffering really badly Sad hope it gets better for you after this glamorous first trimester!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 06/02/2015 13:02

alien - I think it may vary trust to trust. At mine they basically say well behaved children are allowed but remember this is a medical examination (which I read as code for - do you really want your children here if you get bad news).

Bippidee · 06/02/2015 13:38

After weeks of waiting I FINALLY have my scan date. It's an all-encompassing appt: booking, nt scan and bloods. It's going to take all day, isn't it?

Last time I remember having mw appts booked for 9am but not being seen til 1pm. Sigh.

Lauramum23 · 06/02/2015 14:41

Don't know if anyone read my earlier post on my emotional meltdown this morning, I feel a lot better this afternoon after aquafit (or aquafat as I call it!) I treat myself to some tassimo lattes as we had ran out so I'm sat enjoying that obvs I will not have them loads and I did buy decaf tea eeeekkk I said I wouldn't but thought I'd better do! I'm just gonna chill for a bit then go get my kids and grovel to them! Grin
And my mums back from her jollys tomorrow yey!!!

GoooRooo · 06/02/2015 14:45

Bippidee I never understand how midwives can be late running at 9am when the first appointment is 9am! I always book the first one if I can and I've never been seen on time.

Lauramum23 glad you're feeling better Smile

Quinandthem · 06/02/2015 14:47

I took my 18m dd to a scan a few months ago. Had no choice.

She screamed the place down but didn't bother them.
