Hi all :)

NatalieBee · 26/01/2015 13:24

Marking my place Smile hi ladies!

Treaclepie19 · 26/01/2015 13:25

Ohh, can i ask if anyone knows about smear tests while pregnant?
Had my first letter come through when I wasn't pregnant but stupidly forgot to go.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 26/01/2015 13:25

Feeling rubbish today - off work. Trying to tidy up a little whilst watching Friends.

ShootTheMoon · 26/01/2015 13:27

treacle I'm pretty sure you'll have to arrange the smear test for afterwards - I know I had one done when DD was a few months old.

hi everyone Smile

Thanks for confirming my thoughts about eggs, shoot.
I've never come down with salmonella in my life, so the chances of it happening in pregnancy are super-slim (unlike me!)

Ordered some maternity jeans from verbaudet at the weekend. They have changeable tummy bands for when you get bigger. Seemed like a good idea and my jeans are getting uncomfortable!

Snowflake15 · 26/01/2015 13:29

genni I'm thinking about booking an early scan at 8 weeks! Just to put my mind at rest and then it will be another month still until nhs test! Smile

DeladionInch · 26/01/2015 13:30
Brew
NatalieBee · 26/01/2015 13:31

Treacle my midwife said that smears aren't done while pregnant because the hormones or something at the cervix cause abnormal results which aren't accurate Smile

DefinitelyNotElsa · 26/01/2015 13:32

Shamelessly place marking. Love how chatty we all are!

ShootTheMoon · 26/01/2015 13:33

mummyboo no worries - I'm sure it was a MNer who first told me all of this so it's nice to pass it along! I think that our immune systems are lowered in pregnancy so we do have a generally higher risk if we are exposed to these bacteria, but even a weakened immune system can't create salmonella out of nothing Wink

I tried those Vertbaudet jeans last week actually! They looked good but in the end I sent them back as the Seraphina ones seemed to fit me better and I was given 5 pairs of mat jeans/trousers by a friend. Hope they suit you Smile

I had a smear when DD was a few months old I think. I've had one since and should be due one when this one is around 1.

Tallalime · 26/01/2015 13:35

I am hoping my sister will send me her maternity clothes.

I didn't need them til 18 weeks with DD and hoping for similar this time wishful thinking

DoNotDenyMe · 26/01/2015 13:35

Thanks for the new thread Shoot - also for the useful page link - I'd forgotten about smoked salmon - dammit!
And Talla - that vodka will be well deserved by the time you're ready to drink it!

nutelladipper · 26/01/2015 13:38

thanks for the thread!
That was 1000 posts in 10 days! haha

SpamAnderson · 26/01/2015 13:40

Just pasted over here in case everyone's moved already :) Oh cool nutella do you have a facebook page? I wonder if we know each other's businesses!!
donot I'm the same, I would kill someone for a tin (or vat) or tuna!
To those talking about eggs, it's suppose to be no runny eggs but I always each them and have throughout pregnancy, it's due to salmonella and risk of food poisoning, but I have never had food poisoning from an egg before (and I eat raw cake mix like every day). Lion stamped eggs are vaccinated eggs so there's really no risk from them.

sauvblanc21 · 26/01/2015 13:43

Woohoo! New thread! Grin Thanks shoot xx

shinjuku09 · 26/01/2015 13:48

Marking place!

threeberries · 26/01/2015 13:49

Is smoked salmon not allowed? Sad you can have a tin of tuna but no more than 15? in a week so think you'd need to eat a lot for it to be a problem!

Spam - that's good news ! I only like eggs if the yolk is runny!
Tomorrow I'll be 6 +4. It was at this point last pregnancy that we went for a private scan and they found an empty sac. Going to be a tough day. Getting closer to midwife appointment a week on Wednesday.
