kat congrats on your baby girl!!

tranquility I'm the same have scans at 28,32 and 36 wks and have started to wind myself up again as the first one is only 4wks away... Don't think this will end until this baby is safe and sound in my arms, then the whole different array of worries start! The joys Grin

mummy hope your bum troubles ease soon, it must be really unpleasant to have to deal with that as well as a twin pregnancy!

jazzyjenbo · 28/01/2015 18:22

Extra scans here aswell, first one on the 9th march. What r u being re scanned for? Mine is for growth scanning due to low birth weight dc's (apparently)...7lb and 7lb4oz but were both in tiny baby clothes and both overdue.

Chookford · 28/01/2015 18:29

Mine are growth scans as well jazzy as I have Graves' disease they have to keep an eye on baby's growth my dd was fine and was 7lb14 and was 8 days late so I'm hoping this one will be fine too

Bazza2 · 28/01/2015 18:33

Thanks Orville! I'll make sure to get a note when I have my doctor's appointment.

Sunbathing that certainly sounds like baby!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 28/01/2015 19:35

Yay for lovely scan news. Grin More happy babies on the way it would seem. I've got mine tomorrow and the snow is already bucketing down. Yay.

Sorry to hear people feeling crappy again or still. Sad Have the duvet day/cake/painkillers that may help. All together if that helps.

I've felt nauseous most of the day so have eaten my way through it, resulting in me feeling very bloated tonight.

Sun - that's how i explain the movement's I'm thinking are baby too. If one more person tells me it's like a butterfly, I'll punch them. Grin To me, it feels nothing like a butterfly and, as I'm scared of them, the last thing I want to compare my baby to us a butterfly (yes, well aware I'm a big wuss).

Pregnancy rage appeared today. Why people don't fill the printer up instead of putting 10 sheets in is beyond me. AngryWink I made my point loudly by ripping open packs of paper, loudly opening the printer and loudly disposing of said paper packs. I may have overreacted.

sparkle17 · 28/01/2015 19:48

Sunbathing thats a great way to explain it. I've been struggling to but you have got it. I'd say that was baby, congrats!

Congrats on everyone's scans. Will be good when we are all over 20 weeks and had our scans. Less than a week till mine.

Tranquilitybaby · 28/01/2015 19:54

Mine are for raised bmi Sad but at least they're keeping an eye on me I girss. I haven't gained abt weight so far so hopefully I won't be moaned at.

Ive been very nauseaous again lately, yuck.

PregnantAndEngaged · 28/01/2015 19:56

I swear pregnancy hormones are making me a bit TOO organised. Already want to buy my hospital bag and all mine and babies toiletries. It's still (hopefully) 20 weeks until I will be in hospital... maybe too soon? Although it can't help to be prepared, can it?

pregnant I'm with you! My first crazy pregnancy symptom was organising my work emails with ridiculous precision. Cleared my inbox from 4,000 to zero in a day when I was about 12 weeks! I only wish this extended to me being organised at home (as does DH!)

Tranquilitybaby · 28/01/2015 20:40

I asked to join slimming world Tori and the midwife said she'd refer me to the lifestyle clinic first. There I was given a lot of advise on healthy eating, all of which I knew, sigh.

Then I was told if your BMI is 35 or over then they can't accutate measure fundus height was th a tape measure so extra scans are used instead.

jazzyjenbo · 28/01/2015 21:00

Pregnant i have started putting bits and pieces into a draw ready for my hospital bag, just bits and bobs that i found essential last time or that i forgot to take.
I'm sure we will have lots of chat about what to pack closer to the time but my top tip is... Kleenex bum wipes!! So so soft and much gentler on your sore bits and bum than loo roll, i used them as a flannel in the shower after aswell.
I've also put some nail clippers to pack aswell as both mine had very long nails at birth and needed them cutting straight away.

katbags · 28/01/2015 21:19

jazzy Fab tips - thank you! I'm learning so many random things I didn't know I didn't know from this thread Smile It's such an eye opener for a first timer!

20 week scan was fine - we're having a boy!!

Placenta was a little low so have to go back for another scan at 36 weeks.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 28/01/2015 21:39

katbags completely agree. This thread, the Facebook group and all the fabulous people are a godsend to clueless first timers like myself. Although, my shopping list is getting longer not shorter!

cuphat · 28/01/2015 21:45

Congrats on all the scans today!

Mummymog, I used a stretchy wrap (loads of material you wrap up) early on but not very often as DD always wanted feeding whenever I put her in it! I only ever wrapped it so DD was on my front though. DD is very heavy (has always been 91st percentile) so I wouldn't fancy it now! We also have an Ergo which is supposed to last till 5 but again, I wouldn't fancy that with how much she weighs! DH mainly used the Ergo.

Hope you got everything sorted Orville.

Kyz · 28/01/2015 21:46

Evening all! thanks for the new thread htf! These threads move so quickly I struggle to keep up! My next scan is 2nd feb (private one, i paid for a package) and my next appt is 4th feb, it's about my protein s deficiency so nothing exciting! Am 23 weeks tomorrow. Soooo not prepared in the slightest yet!

thelovecats i can see outside kicks too though every time i go to show someone he stops moving, typically!

I like JM but haven't heard of Erin O]Brien, I shall go and google. I haven't really done any structured exercise as such Blush just walks with the dogs and tearing after my ds :/

oh bless you mummymog that sounds SO sore! :( Congrats on your little girls though!

good luck for those with scans tomorrow, looks like there's a couple?!

i'm so sorry for your loss jackie :( thinking of you

congrats clearly :D

oh no Tranquility that's awful! glad your dog is ok now bless her

fab news jama :) and what a fab edd (my birthday)

congrats 5! fab stuff :)

can't remember who said it but i'm also starving, can't seem to eat enough at the minute, i'll be huge at this rate!

glad the rescan was good sunbathing :)

congrats katbags :)

congrats newgirl :D

Am almost asleep so apologies for skimming the last few pages but i'm caught up and here! woohoo!

PregnantAndEngaged · 28/01/2015 22:43

Haha katbags.. I can't see my mood for organisation extending to household chores either, somehow!

Jazzy those are great tips, thanks! :) I read a mumsnet article where someone said that one thing they wish they knew before labour was that having your first poo after labour is almost as scary as the labour itself. I'm now quite nervous, so shall definitely be taking decent loo paper!

newbie6 · 28/01/2015 22:44

Hi all,

Lovely to hear more scan updates Smile how big are everyone's bumps??? I feel like mine has exploded from nowhere and from being able to hide it, I now definitely look pregnant? I'm normally a size 10/12 and I can't remember how soon I started to show last time but keep thinking I look huge and then panicking that I've got 17 weeks still to go, all things going well! Got another scan next week so hoping my placenta has moved up! Xx

PregnantAndEngaged · 28/01/2015 22:47

Mine popped out lots just this week newbie. I'm in my 19th week. Last week my maternity work trousers were unwearable as they kept falling down. This week they fit (still have room for growth but they weren't falling down).

Someone who didn't know me (a waitress at a restaurant at the weekend) asked me if I'm having a boy or a girl. So I must be looking pregnant now!

Before then I just looked a bit chubby lol.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 28/01/2015 22:59

I was congratulated at dd's swimming yesterday by a mummy who said she thought she was safe now and it wasn't just mince pies! My job share said today I suddenly looked very pregnant too, so I'm sure mine has "popped" completely now!

Wondering if the bump growth is related to the aches?? I still have awful pain in hips/lower back, and I'm just overwhelmingly tired. I got home from work at 7 and slept for an hour while poor dh bathed and bedded dd and did supper. I've just taken some paracetamol but have a bad headache developing. Dh wants me to contact mw tomorrow but I'm not sure what she'll be able to do/advise?? I think it's shitty but probably normal, he thinks being incapacitated with pain is not right! WWYD??!!

Sorry for another me me me post...

jazzyjenbo · 28/01/2015 23:15

Lol pregnant, the first poo is scary but really wasnt as bad as i was expecting! After ds i'd had an episiotomy so had lots of stitches in that area, i was convinced i would pop afew pooping! In reality your muscles are so weak after the labour that you dont really hav to push!ConfusedShock
It was at this point though that loo paper really does feel like sandpaper after giving birth.
Had stitches after dd aswell but had packed the bum wipes which were great for a soft hygienic wipe! Lol
