Thanks everyone. I slept most of the afternoon and my husband has been significantly nicer less stupid since I woke up.

Thanks for the heads up re those haram style pj bottoms from Primark (forget who mentioned them, sorry!). Speaking of Primark, they're currently selling fine knit jumpers for £6 (the lovely cashier who served me told me they wash surprisingly well considering the price),I have a blush pink one but there are other colours too. Handy for work. They're quite roomy and not short in the body, I'm in my normal size bump and all. There's also a nice black A-line dress there with no sleeves and a lace detail across the collar, went the size up in that for growing room, I reckon it will flatter all bumps nicely!

Oh same here, sun. I had a large meal on Thursday and realised quite rapidly that there isn't enough room for me to do that anymore! I was so uncomfortable and bloated, my dainty bump suddenly looked full term. Little and often is the way forward.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 07/02/2015 21:14

Glad you had a better afternoon alis.

I have all my mat clothes from last time and was insistent that I wouldn't need/ couldn't justify more as they are seasonally exactly appropriate, but I'm finding they look very washed out Hmm I guess because I didn't buy much, they had a lot of wear in a short time.

I have bought some jeans in jojo maman wotsit but I need to take them back (for the 2nd time Confused) as the first time I decided they were too big, swapped them last Sunday for ones that the label and barcode zapped through as an 8, got them home and tried them to discover they're actually a 12!! Grr... Will try again after church tomorrow!

htf2 · 07/02/2015 21:40

will check out primark for some options! My mat clothes had better last for number 2... I did get a nice seraphine blazer and skirt in the sale for work, with the new look black pants and basic maternity tops this will pretty much be what I wear at work for the next few months - not very exciting! (although still fitting into some of my stretchy knit and wrap dresses )
I do have a few nicer casual dresses including a summer maxi, one from asos for a wedding we have in a month and a decent pair of leggings are essential! my mamas and papas jeans still come down a bit - hoping that will change. as I still fit into some of my jeans for casual I am holding off on getting a second pair of maternity jeans.. it all feels like a lot of clothes for a few months only! I need shorts for my trip to australia in a month and finding that a bit of a challenge -think buying some pants extenders and wearing regular shorts might be the go.
Found one of DH's very nice knit tops all moth-eaten today while packing things up- feel like maybe I could have prevented that so a bit annoyed at myself.

Newgirl the bladder kicking is quite possible. I'm getting the same thing, although I can actually feel him doing it (very uncomfortable). I'm hoping that as the uterus stretches he won't be near my bladder too much longer :)

H&M has a bit in store, but very limited. It's difficult because nowhere seems to cater for pregnant women in-store. H&M maternity stuff is nice though.. I've got a nice jumper and jumper dress from there so far and they're super comfortable with lots of room for growth as well. Think I shall just order online :)

bubalou · 08/02/2015 09:33

It seems to depend where you are for maternity clothes in store.

There's a large town about 15 mins from us that has a few shops for maternity stuff in store there is H&M, mothercare, new look, debenhams so not loads but the newlook does stock a lot.

I've got 2x jeans from newlook and a few dresses. A couple of tops from H&M all not too grumpy. Still wearing river island leggings which I LOVE as they have almost like a bump band round the waist so they don't dig in.

As I'm having little man mid - may now I'm thinking I might not need much more as most of my clothes are non maternity, just in a bigger size and if it's hot then will just wear without all the extra layers.

Smile

Also I too have been really felt like I'm being kicked directly in the bladder at times! It's horrible! Confused

kaybug · 08/02/2015 09:53

I've not been able to find maternity clothes in my local H&M. Sad Got some good mat jeans from New Look though, really flattering and comfy, not a huge selection tho! Grin Hoping not to need to buy too many maternity clothes. Would much rather spend the money on decorating baby's room! Got quite a few maxi dresses that I'm hoping will be baggy enough to fit me when the summer comes and bump gets really big Grin fingers crossed

Newgirl33 · 08/02/2015 10:23

I tried some non maternity trousers and jeans in the next size up. They fit around the waist but the bum area too baggy Sad Will try some tops instead.

I forgot about Debenhams Red Herring - will have a look.

Chookford · 08/02/2015 10:28

Morning ladies

I haven't been able to find any maternity clothes in shops either so have ordered all mine from either new look or eBay, clearing out the loft last weekend I found two full bags of maternity clothes from my dd which I thought I had lost, so that was a massive bonus my dd was due same time
Of year too!

Had my midwife appt Friday all is well, measuring bang on for 25wks and baby is breech at the moment but plenty of time to turn yet... Also have my prescription for canesten cream and pressarys now and feel so much better already! Hurrah

Sun - depends on how quick your vendor would want to move. If they are willing to wait, you'd have a bit of breathing space. Helps if you've got a solicitor in mind just in case.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 08/02/2015 11:26

Speak to the estate agent. They'd give you an idea of the vendors likelihood of accepting an offer if yours hasn't sold and how quick they want to move. Added as an after thought as I'm doing too many things at once. Grin

Morning all.
24 weeks today! Seems like another milestone reached.
Just updating the stats.
Boys - 33
Girls - 27
Surprise - 15
Just wondered if the following ppl are still lurking and if you have any updates?
Rebecca1608, peppermintchialatte , frankienoodles, fructosetart, slacktastic.
Good luck with this weeks scans x... 4 days and we're all done x

Emz1989 · 08/02/2015 13:03

I've done more online shopping (and returning) since trying to get maternity clothes... I've got one pair of skinny over bump jeans from new look that I've been living in on weekends and 2 pairs of maternity leggings that I've been wearing to work every day with long jumpers and floaty tops... Hoping not to buy much maternity winter stuff as hopefully spring is just round the corner!!!
Hope all works out with the house hunt sun.
I too have learnt that big meals are no longer my friend. My cousin and her fiancé came to stay with myself and dh last night, they live in London and after come to stay when there are family party's in South wales - last night was the first time enduring a night out as a 4 totally sober and I must say I surprised myself by lasting out til 1 and driving everyone home and genuinely enjoying myself! Thought I'd be dragging myself out but I managed to really hav a good time - maybe that elusive second trimester energy I keep hearing about isn't such a myth??? Will report back later with how shattered I am today..!!!

PregnantAndEngaged · 08/02/2015 13:13

I found I had lots of energy in my second trimester until last week... now I'm knackered pretty much all the time and sleep doesn't seem to make it better :S Roll on exams being over so I can just enjoy being a part-timer from work! hehe :)

wheresmybiscuit · 08/02/2015 13:21

No large meals for me anymore either. Was really looking forward to stuffing my face with pasta after work last night but could only manage a little bit. At least no heartburn so far.
My bump is finally starting to show. It just literally appeared over night. Some co-workers think it's their new duty to touch my bump everytime I walk past. One of these days I will punch someone.

Two more days until my scan. Can't wait. Good luck everyone, who still have their scans ahead!

Slacktacular · 08/02/2015 13:24

Hi - sorry for shameless lurking! I'm still with you! We saw baby at 20 wk scan on Fri and it looks fab. Placenta has moved to anterior but I have a bit of a mystery object over the cervix (not another baby!) - either an extra bit of placenta or a big blood clot. Consultant appt on Fri to find out more. Most amused to find that my one degree of separation with Kate Middleton is going to be her obstetrician! How swanky! Very pleased to be at the half way point but already feeling like a proper fatty. I should join you all on Facebook as if be less lazy there ??

jazzyjenbo · 08/02/2015 14:50

Slack, lovely to hear from you... Glad baby is happy and healthy but weird about the 'object'... Pm me if you want to join FB.
Did u find out what you are having at your scan or waiting on the surprise? X

Chookford · 08/02/2015 17:00

slack good news on your scan results.. Sure the extra something is nothing to worry about!

Deutschybaby · 08/02/2015 17:17

stack that's an impressive claim to fame! Glad you're well.

pregnant I've been feeling a bit more tired too. I think my main problem is that I make lots of plans and then all of a sudden I just crash and am exhausted and grumpy!

Dd had her birthday party today. She had a pizza express pizza making party. It was amazing! She's 5 and it was the least hands on party I've thrown for her (that was my main requirement!) Id definitely recommend it for any LO's birthdays. I just sort of wandered around, chatted and ate dough balls. And they all had a ball!

In maternity clothes news, finally opened 2 parcels when we got back, I'd ordered some dresses from asos and some mamas and papas sale clothes. I was amazed that they're all quite nice! And I can dress them up/down for work and weekends. Think that's my spring wardrobe sorted now. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm finding that having new clothes/accessories is giving me a bit of a boost - I feel so bulky! So it's nice to be able to get out of my 3 black maternity dresses for work tomorrow.

Deutschybaby · 08/02/2015 17:25

(Just re-read - not sponsored by Pizza express, honestly!)

excitedbutsick · 08/02/2015 18:20

I'm another one who is getting kicked in the bladder, it really feels that I'm going to pee myself. It really is not dignified at all. I had a scan at the FMC yesterday, arranged by my local hospital to train some people on the machines. Baby was very stubborn and was mostly face down / with their back to us making it all a bit more difficult. Baby was also laying with its toes pointed above its head.

ots · 08/02/2015 18:58

Hi all, haven't posted for a while but have been following here and on fb.

Feeling exhausted at the moment. DS has become quite unsettled since we moved 3 weeks ago. He's started waking up during the night. I always go and lay with him til he's asleep then get back into our bed. But its getting so hard. If we didn't have the baby coming I would just let him sleep in bed with me until he's settled, but I can't let him get into that habit. Getting worried now that he'll still be doing this night waking after baby is born. We'll be done in if we're getting up with DS and baby!! Eek.

All going well aside from that though. Baby is moving all the time which is so lovely. She has started to react to music now, I put one ear of the headphones on my bump when I listen to music and she wriggles around to it :)

Hope you are all doing well, good luck for the last few scans coming up next week x
