I'm always spouting about how much I love my vista. Do tell me to shut up if it gets boring ...

Tryingreallyhard84 · 07/02/2015 07:31

You're helping me affirm that the additional cost is worth it. Grin

Tranquilitybaby · 07/02/2015 08:32

Great news on your Scan trying, and a little man too!

Oh I hope ginger has a sticky one this time.

Nothing much to report here except I feel a lot more positive since my scan. Keep having dreams our little girl is here and I can't wait now! Smile

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 07/02/2015 09:21

We are going car hunting this morning Smile It's a bit of an indulgence but our old one is getting to a point where we'd have been thinking about changing it anyway, and we would quite like an estate for the journeys from herts - edinburgh with 2 kiddies in tow. It'll be the first "encouraged by baby number 2" purchase which is exciting!

jazzyjenbo · 07/02/2015 10:16

Good look on the car hunt pas, i luckily dont need to do any car hunting this time... I changed from a yaris to a verso when we had dd in 2012 and then last year i bought a massive 5 metre long 2 metre wide mpv for my business. .... Its expensive but the best car/bus i've ever owned.

I'm making another of my cakes today for a 60th birthday.... Harley davidson badge. I'll share my cake page on the fb group so u can see my 'hobby' x

Chookford · 07/02/2015 10:21

pas good luck with car hunting! So exciting... We don't have to change our car as we only got ours last year.. I like shopping for new cars though! Grin.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! We really need to start thinking about getting pram and cot soon but hubby finds out what his bonus will be next week so we have to wait to find out what we have first boooooooooo!!

I feel very down today. My husband doesn't seem to get/care that I am hormonal. I really don't think I am that bad, occasionally a bit short tempered but he almost seems to enjoy the opportunity to argue and then blame me.

He's told me I am difficult to live with and I've cried already today.

ali tell your husband he should think himself lucky he doesn't live with me, my mood swings are so erratic that its untrue. With each pregnancy my highs and lows have been higher and lower. I feel like I am really losing the plot some days. I wish I could say my DH has been understanding being as this is not our first and we've been there before but I think he has learnt that the best way to deal with it is to have a sympathetic look on one's face and then hopefully the moment passes quicker. Men really don't have the ability to really understand, not all men but most of the men I know. They are very black and white and if there is a problem then fixing it is the answer, they do not compute that it may not always be as straightforward as that. I always say that its better out than in and there is no point holding it in for fear of upsetting your partner because otherwise it stores up and then there is usually a huge explosion and then over something very minor and then you're accused of over reacting! Can't win!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 07/02/2015 15:45

My dh is lovely but definitely a fixer too. Having said that, he'd het short shrift from me if he took my being oh and hormonal as an opportunity/open door to argue with me!

Well we bought a car! We were intending just to get a better idea than you can online today, but have ended up buying one. Eeek! We already had a 5 door Astra so we're part exchanging it for an Astra estate, 4 years old but only 4000 miles on the clock and a good deal at that. It's automatic which will take a bit of getting used to but my parents always had automatics so as soon as I'd passed my test that's what I drove so I expect it to come back within a day or two! Exciting! Dd told the salesman "we need a big car for the baby in mummy's tummy" Smile

pas congrats on the new car!!

alis sorry to hear you are dealing with an unsympathetic male.. Just ignore him for the rest of the evening and eat cake!!

PregnantAndEngaged · 07/02/2015 17:35

Alis, sorry to hear that :( hugs Maybe you should try talking to him and explaining that this pregnancy is affecting you emotionally (but try not to let it escalate into an argument).

BingoBonkers · 07/02/2015 17:48

I miss our automatic cars, so lovely to drive.

Newgirl33 · 07/02/2015 18:44

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

We went to look at cars today too. Will need my own car when I am on maternity leave, but I find driving a little stressful!

Bump is getting a bit bigger now. I can't seem to find much selection of maternity clothes in store and have ordered a few bits online from next and New Look. Can anyone recommend a shop that stocks a large range of maternity clothes?

I'm wondering if baby has been jabbing my bladder as ocassionally I get the sudden urge to go for a wee when I know I don't need to go! Not like cystitis symptoms so I don't think its that.

I only know of Mothercare, H&M and Mamas & Papas that have maternity stuff in store. I find M&P really frumpy on me and Mothercare not to my taste, but H&M is quite limited.

I got a lot from eBay last time but am finding it's all a size too small now. Argh!

I've had some nice stuff from Gap online, and ASOS do free delivery and returns I think.

Newgirl33 · 07/02/2015 19:38

Sunbathing - I'm feeling the same about maternity clothes. Especially work ones... only 13 more weeks of work for me so don't want to spend too much on maternity workwear. I'll check out Amazon and the other place you suggested. Thanks :)

Newgirl33 · 07/02/2015 19:41

Anything - I'm finding both M&P and Mothercare not to my taste. H&M seem to have more selection online. I've ordered a Parka that's in the sale - will see what it's like as I find their sizing a bit inconsistent sometimes.

cuphat · 07/02/2015 19:59

Debenhams Red Herring stuff is in store. I don't know what I'd have done without their trousers. It's a real struggle finding clothes in store; even JL don't stock them here, and it's a massive store! I normally love H&M but I'm not so keen on their maternity stuff (fit-wise for me - it's not flattering on my bump for some reason, I end up looking frumpy). New Look used to have stuff in store but they don't now. I ordered some stuff from there and ASOS online and it's all great.

I must look pregnant now as someone gave up their seat for me on the train today! I know I look pregnant in my clothes but I had a thick winter coat on and wasn't sure if I actually looked pregnant (DH does say it's obvious though).

I just bought a normal coat in a larger size, because I loved the style.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 07/02/2015 20:06

I also found the standard Mat lines a bit, well, not to my taste is the best way to say it. Got a couple of dresses from ASOS/Newlook and a pair of mat jeans and leggings. Yesterday, I bought the same jersey skirt I'd usually buy in H&M but in a bigger size. Sits nicely over my bump and at £7.99, I don't feel so hard done by as I can wear it for work and for casual.

Pas - Great news on the car. Love your DDs comment. Grin

Well, popped to my local shopping centre Meadowhell (yes, hell, as it seemed so busy despite me not going until near on 5). Hoped to pick up my first proper outfit but was so overwhelmed with sizes, weights, long sleeve, short sleeve, leggings, etc that I came away with nothing. I need OH with me to help me rationalise.

Mum and Dad did buy me some lovely muslin cloths though so I do feel I've got something baby related today.

OH is out tonight so I have a double bed to myself with no snoring or breathing in my face. Plus, I have my new pillow to try out. Looking forward to it. Is that sad? Blush

AnythingNotEverything · 07/02/2015 20:08

I don't normally venture into Debenhams so might give them a try.

Re: coats, I bought a swing style jacket the summer which is good for work (the swing shape is quite flattering) and I have a blanket style wrap which is both flattering and comfy. I also have a sensible two layer fleece/waterproof (like a Berghaus but cheaper) which I bought 6 weeks before DD was born. It saw me through that winter but I'm heavier this time so glad it won't need to see me much longer!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 07/02/2015 20:09

Forgot to add Alis hope your day got better (or that OH stopped being stupid Wink

AnythingNotEverything · 07/02/2015 20:12

Also, I meant to mention that if anyone is hunting for post birth/hospital pyjamas, Primark have black harem pant style pyjama bottoms for £6. I'm hoping they'll cover a multitude of sins and stains Smile

cuphat · 07/02/2015 20:16

I don't normally shop there for clothes either but I was desperate last time as it was really hard finding anywhere that stocked maternity stuff instore and I went into loads of stores asking. I think a totally different store recommended them!

Enjoy tonight trying! I've started to use a wedge pillow under my bump which does make me feel so much more comfortable. I have Theraline and dreamgenii pillows from last time but they're massive and there's really not enough room in the bed. Plus I don't feel that I need a cushion between my legs and they make turning over so awkward (I know that's the point as you're supposed to stay on your left side, but I can't and my sleep ends up disturbed if I try!).
